The key tool is not the problem. The insecure vehicle design is the problem. And the rampant crime.
If the FOB technology is not secure, manufacturers should go back to the standard key ignition. If the manufacturers are not willing to make the change, then the government should force them to make the change.
The prior generation key+immobilizer was definitely more secure.
@@jptrainor Correct.
rampant auto theft is not world wide problem. not even Canada wide problem.
This is Ontraio/Quebec problem, because how easy it is to ship cars out of Canada from Port of Montreal.
Why should rest of the world be inconvenience because of Canadian government's unwillingness to check outgoing shipments?
Also, you can still buy regular key start cars, buy the most basic trim.
@@andg5194 Montreal port ships out more than 1500 containers daily on average and some of those contain large number of valid auto exports. Do you think it is practical to examine all outbound containers for stolen vehicles? Also, all what is stolen are not exported. Some are stripped for parts. This is an Ontraio/Quebec problem because those are the provinces with highest populations. When vehicles are stolen insurance companies will raise the premiums and eventually everybody will start paying higher premiums.
@@andg5194 They're gone, or disappearing, from base trims too. Fob+Button is cheaper to manufacture.
The owner of this yard should be arrested without bail
How you can call this success??? Nobody got arrested. The thieves, owner/owners of these containers, shipping yard, the shipping company, the entire organization is ready to steal another car. You won't eliminated car theft by recovering cars.
And if they get arrested they are released so what is the point.
The manufacturer should go back to the standard key
Yeah nobody was ever able to steal a vehicle equipped with the standard key.
The prior generation key+immobilizer was definitely more secure.
90% usual suspects! No jail time, lol.
Review truck drivers and their company back ground
Automakers need to step up as that is just too easy.
Car thieves have been going on for years and it took these cops a while to act!
yep more than 20 years this cars haven been going overseas now is just stupid easy to steal them.
The government has the power to make things happen but it seems they leave car manufacturers out of it
It should read. How car thieves make it into Canada.
Great job keeps it up❤
A developed country with vehicles stolen and shipped abroad. Hm.
Gone in 60 seconds? 😂
Probably up around 3-5 minutes now but ya; pretty much the same idea.
Just install GPS and you don’t need to work hard to look for vehicles.
What did xan trucking have to say about storing stolen cars in shipping containers on their property??
I no speaka tha engrish
Let's see the million-dollar mobile scanner in action.
It falls on the car companies making it so easy to steal. With technology it should be tougher to copy keys .
Trudeau's diversity Legacy
Large number of cars are stolen in USA too. So is Biden or Trump responsible for that?
That is a Tacoma, not a Tundra
Couldn’t the shipping yard give up the owner of the seacans info up to police?
Toyota keys are so cheap and janky they thought it was a Generic 😂
Wow .. that's so crazy 😮
So an old school physical key is now more secure than a digital fob. Just like cash is impossible to hack and books don't crash.
Do auto manufacturers make them easy to steal on purpose? They should be investigated
I don't think so. I think they're just complacent.
I want to know how the thief gets out of the vehicle after it's driven into the container.
They can climb out the rear trunk door.
Vin numbers should not be visible to anyone. Keys need to have a unique chip matching its car
How does the vin number being visible figure into the situation?
@ because all cars must have vin numbers when being transported
@@ang9266These vehicles are never inspected when exported. Guaranteed there are insiders waiving them through.
@@ang9266 Ok so how does making them not visible affect anything?
@@doktormcnastyWhat he's saying that the Vin should match the key fob before an attempt to make a duplicate.
Car makers made vehicles to easy to steal
Get an engine immobilizer. My igla pro has a obd port lockout until passcode is entered.
I had one way back in 1995 on a new Civic. Most stolen car at the time.
Treudeus best friends !!! Just trying to make some money
As someone who enjoyed Canada in the 1980s, it’s shocking how much this country has declined
Pakistani always involved.. London several car find in Lahore and khalistani Canada citizen also involved and some african canada citizen involved...
Always Pakistani and Indians not surprised and no doubt about it
