    Ive got a 2020 250f and thing is so well rounded its insane. I can hit all 30+ foot tables with ease and suspension is so perfect. Bike wheelies like a charm. 2nd gear pinned gets you up any hill. overall insanely good bike for beginners to experts

    • @imford

      The bike itself is amazing but I would NOT call the suspension anything higher than just "good". I swear the suspension on my 250f is trying to kill me sometimes on tiny bumps.

    Thanks for posting this. am looking for a fun bike to learn hard enduro on. I am about 171cm tall, not sure if the 230f or 250f suits me more but from what I understand, they are about the same size? How about the drum brakes on the 230f? No one seems to be talking about them, are they reliable? Are there also suspension upgrade options for both bikes? Thanks!

      Ben Macmillan yah same with me I am saving up for this bike right now and I had a bunch of people say that a 250 would be to big for me and they are correct at 5,4 the crf250r is to big for me it would of fallen over if I tried to sit on it that’s why I am going to go with a crf250f it has a seat height that is 3.4 inches shorter than the bigger bikes so it fits small people like me better

    Hi Jake, enjoy your vids. I was wondering if you did anything to the CRF230F suspension? The 230 rear shock is its main pitfall from the original in 03' to the end of the line, Honda never did a change to the shock and its over damped valving. It can be quite jarring.

    Do you need to use the clutch when up shifting on these Hondas? Or are they like the ktm’s where you don’t need to. Thanks!

    • @MotoJake
      @MotoJake  2 года назад

      You don’t need to but I recommend it. Like most motorcycles, you can shift up right as you release the throttle and release tension or downshift in the same manner. I use this method on sport bikes with stiff clutches that are a pain to pull a lot.

    Hey man, great video! Just had a question, I've been riding a '16 Crf150f for 5 years now, and I want to upgrade. I ride trails, occasionally on the road or in a field, and I'm 6'3, 185lbs. I'm stuck between buying a new 2020/21 Crf250f, and buying a used Crf450x, since the prices would probably be pretty similar. Definitely don't want a race bike or a 2 stroke because my trails are kinda tight in some places. But I definitely want something much more powerful than what I'm currently riding. What do you think I should do?

    • @MotoJake
      @MotoJake  3 года назад +2

      It really depends on how much you want to put into maintenance. The 450 will require a lot while the 250 doesn’t require much at all. The 450 is obviously gonna be the fun option but more pricy.

    • @nchondakid
      @nchondakid 3 года назад

      @@MotoJake That's what attracted me to this bike, the low price. I rode an a X-Motos aircooled 250cc dirtbike the other day, and it was just barely faster than my 150, that I've put an FMF slip on, a jet kit, and a 50T sprocket on. I'm worried about this bike not being powerful enough. I could probably get a used Crf450r/Crf450x for about the price of this 250f. Any suggestions? Thanks man

    • @MotoJake
      @MotoJake  3 года назад

      You really get what you pay for in the world of dirt-bikes but if you would like to chance going the used route, I did that with my first race bike and didn’t regret it. It was a 2008 CRF250R in great condition for $1,500. That’s a heck of a good deal for a mint condition race bike.

    • @joeycourtice4157
      @joeycourtice4157 3 года назад

      I would recomend a drz 400 or something like that. A 250 will get the job done and be fun and low maintenance. A 400 to 500 will be a handful in tight trails, really fun in the open. A 400cc dualsport is low maintenance, but a crf450x is essentially a race bike with a headlight.

      @@MotoJake
      THE 230F IS CAPABLE OF BEING UNLOCKED. THE CRF250F ISN'T.
      1. 14 tooth counter sprocket, the 230F will reach 75mph.
      2. The 230F is capable of being raised One inch with the CRF150F's dog bone.
      3. You CAN NOT increase the counter sprocket on the CRF250F.
      4. You CAN NOT move the foot pegs back one inch to open the cockpit on CRF250F. However, you can on the CRF230 and you will lose 16oz.
      5. If you use the CRF150R forks, you loose another 4lbs. You CAN NOT use 150R forks on the CRF250F.
      6. FMF's header increase the 230F's horse power hugely.
      7. If the 230F is raised one inch?...the wheel base much be increased because it will cause the bike to shake. However, Easily fixed by adding one link to your chain.
      8. CRF250F stock 15lbs heavier than the 230F. CRF150R forks on the 230F and we have the CRF250F 19 lbs heavier.
      9. Stock vs Stock. CRF250F wins. However, once you mod the 230F, it smokes the CRF250F hugely in every category.
      Unlocked vs Locked should have been the title here.

    • @MotoJake
      @MotoJake  3 года назад

      Well the 230f and the 250f aren’t much different in size, just a power difference. I think you’d get more satisfaction from a CRF250F as they are newer. The CRF250R is a race bike though and would only recommend that to people who are skilled, have money to spend on it, and the time to work on it.
