She was a yoga teacher for almost 50 years so I think that’s kept her youthful. She gave up her classes in the pandemic and unfortunately we lost Dad then too, but she has loads of lovely friends and so she keeps herself busy and is still driving too. Anyway, lovely to chat to you and have a great weekend 🩷

There used to be a traditional gypsy caravan selling ceramics and old bottles. I bought some because they were cheap😵 I think a set of flying ducks would look lovely on your mums wall. That dolls house was fantastic but oh so expensive. Thanks for giving the origin of the name. So lucky to have a double dose of your vlogging. I am repotting some pot bound plants this weekend. @@TheEnthusiasticGardener They went home yesterday. Did we get any rest? Perish the thought. Poor Miguel got a call from his son to say the car was broken down, so off he went. I stayed to cook the last meal for the kiddies and their parents and then saw them on their way. Then it was battle stations to reclaim the house from toys and general mayhem. I did absolutely nothing last night except sit like a blob on the couch! I think I earned it.

We kyaked up the river crouch on Wednesday evening (5 & 1/2miles round trip) to have a drink at the Barge Inn Battlesbridge, it had just closed at 7pm. Missed it by 15 mins😆 xx

Thanks for taking us with you to this amazing place. I saw so many things that I liked so it's a good thing that it was a virtual tour for me! I have one of those glass carbouy things and was going to chuck it but £50 means I'll keep it. I remember mum and dad having one in the 1970's filled with plants and it was always a talking point if people visited as they'd want to know how the plants got inside. Wasn't that dolls house lovely? Hope the climb to the tea room was worth it. I'm sure it was as those views were stunning.
Hi Wendy and thanks so much for coming with us. I think my carbuoy (I didn’t know what they are called until you just told me) cost about £5 from a charity shop. I did grow plants in mine but they died 😆 and now it’s still just filled with soil, gravel and pebbles!! The dollshouse was incredible! But £1,000+!! Loads of things there no-one actually needs 😆 but lots of one-offs so really interesting! Hope you have a happy weekend ♥️

Funnily enough, I went on Friday to Summerhills to buy Mum the campervan (I didn’t film it though) and Lo and behold they haven’t sold them for the past 3 years I was told! But … I found one on good old Amazon so it’s all planted up now and you can see what it’s like in my video next Tuesday. It’s not quite the same as mine but still lovely. And bigger. I’m seeing Mum on Tuesday afternoon so she can either have that one, or she can have mine and I’ll let her pick (because I like both of them). Hope you’ve had a great weekend ♥️

The dollhouse was gorgeous, I don’t blame the shop owner for not wanting anyone to touch it. Lots of interesting finds, and I thought the curved mirror that you showed in the beginning, would have looked great on the brick wall in your moms garden( Dainty Diaries also recently added one to her yard).So peaceful, loved the vlog❤ The stockades yikes, it would definitely deter me from being naughty😂 The tea room was worth the climb, but that sure was a lot of steps!

As for your the Battlefield super, which I had such a place to browse around all those sign and antique odds and sods. I do like a jumble sale., Think that's stems from my scout days when we held clothes jumble sales to raise money for the scout funds. The variety of things was impressive, as you say a little overwhelming. I did like your edited various musical themes too...a true skill of yours. The icing on the cake, get it? Was the long climb up the lighthouse stairs to the tea room....a room with a view...any lemon drizzle cake for sale? What a lovely day out with your mum, one to remember. Hi there Steve (sorry, I kept being formal with the “Stephen” before, I didn’t realise you are a “Steve”) 😆 oh I remember those jumble sales which I used to go to with my Nan when I was little, clothes piled high and all the women grabbing and pulling clothes and wo betide if two women had hold of the same item 😆 elbowing each other out of the way in the process 😆 at least that’s what the ones I went to were like, quite a scary place when you’re a little kid 😆 my Nan would win though, a true East End no messing with me type 😆 and oh you must definitely go visit Brighton Pavilion, it’s amazing. Battlesbridge is a great place to visit too and yes there was lemon drizzle cake and I bought an enormous slab of bread pudding to take home for Rich as that’s what his Mum used to make and he still loves it. You’ve filled me with memories here 😆🩷👍♥️

I think they are very strong memories going back to your impressionable young and happy days. Our wooden scout hut had tressel tables setup in a ring, scouts in the middle opposite side of the table were the customers ..selling clothes etc. Clothes where not individually priced so haggling took place over for price, penny, sixpence, half a crown if it was really good. I remember those looks from mature lady customer meaning drop the price. Times were hard back then, people had to make every penny count. Amazing what you remember. I have a sweet tooth so I'm up for any cake on offer, mum made a great lemon meringue pie! Steve

Glad you had a lovely day out with your Mum, the search for a sign continues. Thanks for the tour. Expecially the top floor tea room as I'm scared of spiral staircases I've never made it up there😅. We kyaked up the river crouch on Wednesday evening (5 & 1/2miles round trip) to have a drink at the Barge Inn Battlesbridge, it had just closed at 7pm. Missed it by 15 mins😆 xx

Thanks for taking us with you to this amazing place. I saw so many things that I liked so it's a good thing that it was a virtual tour for me! I have one of those glass carbouy things and was going to chuck it but £50 means I'll keep it. I remember mum and dad having one in the 1970's filled with plants and it was always a talking point if people visited as they'd want to know how the plants got inside. Wasn't that dolls house lovely? Hope the climb to the tea room was worth it. I'm sure it was as those views were stunning.
Hi Wendy and thanks so much for coming with us. I think my carbuoy (I didn’t know what they are called until you just told me) cost about £5 from a charity shop. I did grow plants in mine but they died 😆 and now it’s still just filled with soil, gravel and pebbles!! The dollshouse was incredible! But £1,000+!! Loads of things there no-one actually needs 😆 but lots of one-offs so really interesting! Hope you have a happy weekend ♥️

Funnily enough, I went on Friday to Summerhills to buy Mum the campervan (I didn’t film it though) and Lo and behold they haven’t sold them for the past 3 years I was told! But … I found one on good old Amazon so it’s all planted up now and you can see what it’s like in my video next Tuesday. It’s not quite the same as mine but still lovely. And bigger. I’m seeing Mum on Tuesday afternoon so she can either have that one, or she can have mine and I’ll let her pick (because I like both of them). Hope you’ve had a great weekend ♥️

Loved the visit to Battlesbridge with you and your Mum. It is about 1hr from me here in Ipswich, Suffolk. I think a visit might be in order, will I come away empty handed ummm no. The dollhouse was gorgeous, I don’t blame the shop owner for not wanting anyone to touch it. Lots of interesting finds, and I thought the curved mirror that you showed in the beginning, would have looked great on the brick wall in your moms garden( Dainty Diaries also recently added one to her yard).So peaceful, loved the vlog❤ The stockades yikes, it would definitely deter me from being naughty😂 The tea room was worth the climb, but that sure was a lot of steps!
Hi Elizabeth and thank you so much for coming along with us today 👍👍🩷 oh yes that dollshouse was just gorgeous, I had one maybe 30 years ago that I was decorating from scratch and getting little bits of furniture, I loved doing that but in the end I gave it to my friend for her grandchildren as it just took up so much space. That was a lot of steps for Mum to climb, we did keep resting a bit on each floor, but the views alone were worth it. I watch Catherine on Dainty Diaries too, she is adorable. Hi Jenette, I enjoyed your tour, Brighton pavilion looks amazing, must go one day. As for your the Battlefield super, which I had such a place to browse around all those sign and antique odds and sods. I do like a jumble sale., Think that's stems from my scout days when we held clothes jumble sales to raise money for the scout funds. The variety of things was impressive, as you say a little overwhelming. I did like your edited various musical themes too...a true skill of yours.
The icing on the cake, get it? Was the long climb up the lighthouse stairs to the tea room....a room with a view...any lemon drizzle cake for sale?

Hi there Steve (sorry, I kept being formal with the “Stephen” before, I didn’t realise you are a “Steve”) 😆 oh I remember those jumble sales which I used to go to with my Nan when I was little, clothes piled high and all the women grabbing and pulling clothes and wo betide if two women had hold of the same item 😆 elbowing each other out of the way in the process 😆 at least that’s what the ones I went to were like, quite a scary place when you’re a little kid 😆 my Nan would win though, a true East End no messing with me type 😆 and oh you must definitely go visit Brighton Pavilion, it’s amazing. Battlesbridge is a great place to visit too and yes there was lemon drizzle cake and I bought an enormous slab of bread pudding to take home for Rich as that’s what his Mum used to make and he still loves it. You’ve filled me with memories here 😆🩷👍♥️

I think they are very strong memories going back to your impressionable young and happy days. Our wooden scout hut had tressel tables setup in a ring, scouts in the middle opposite side of the table were the customers ..selling clothes etc. Clothes where not individually priced so haggling took place over for price, penny, sixpence, half a crown if it was really good. I remember those looks from mature lady customer meaning drop the price. Times were hard back then, people had to make every penny count. Amazing what you remember.
I have a sweet tooth so I'm up for any cake on offer, mum made a great lemon meringue pie!
