The real reason these so called sneaker heads get so made at people for buying fakes is because they feel so stupid for paying 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 for so called legit shoes that these guys get for 150 bucks lmao. The reason why there are many fakes. Because Nike is very good in hiding - giving us consumers cheaper lower quality leather. When they do that, it is easier to fake them.
I heard USA has some shoemakers able to customized AJ1 with high quality leather, this I am not sure.

For custom shoes, they're just customs, they're fine. Fake shoes are when someone sells a fake pair at authentic prices. That's a no for me.

Justmy opinion as an old head but sneaker culture was sorta birthed outta what used to be the music subculture of hiphop and some aspects of punk music. Both were heavy into customizing your look and fit which included your kicks. So why wouldn't a custom be considered "real"? So what if someone uses barger cement and just slaps on fabric over AF1's, airbrushed AJ4's or has enough bread to pay someone with machine equipment to replace and restitch stuff over a sole? Like it's wild to want to even TRY to say "customs" are "fakes". As for reps, who cares? Too many people think sneakers are like stocks and bonds. They're not. They're shoes. Wear them mf'ers. How you gonna say sneaker/streetwear is "culture" when you're just consuming. Food for thought.
It's a bit tricky especially on Jordan 1 high heritage since so many people are making those shoe custom.. if the Jordan 1 high heritage was custom to OG Chicago,OG black toe or OG banned color way will people consider it as real??

I got the off white dunks lit 11 and got lot 3 but my friend got Jabari Davis phone number and the other friend that was their one a free pair of sb dunks, then I won off white 4s. Best time ever

Fakes are shoes that aren’t retail, but are being sold as or presented as retail. Which is wrong.
Reps are reps no hate in people’s wearing them cus the prices are better.
Customs even if you use retail shoes are customs and are like art pieces in my eyes and those can be sold long as the people know they aren’t retail pair or Retail color ways but prices will depend on the buyer and seller
Real - From a retail market e.g Nike and Jordan Brand
Custom - added paint/materials on a real or fake shoe
Reps - UA shoes
I grew up in a time where customs were potrayed to Real shoes that were painted to make a new colorway (Customs)

All my sneakers are real & Authentic the most I spent on sneakers are Jordan’s Bunnies retro 8 for $600. I take care of all my real sneakers when I get home I clean them 100% than put them back in the box. The fake ones I let them b dirty so when I put the real ones they will know lol

I would consider a custom real if they were bought from a retail store or legit reseller. I would only consider it "fake" if the custom is made from scratch, with materials that weren't from the brands own factories.
