I couldn't be more delighted to see you getting into watch reviews. You bring the same knowledge-base and flair for description that has been so evident in your knife videos. I shall shout out your channel in my next published watch video. God bless you.
This Bambino with the blued hands and cream dial has been my everyday watch for 2 years. Gains some seconds per week but very reliable. Orient straps are not great so replaced with a nice real alligator strap and deployant buckle/clasp from Long Island watch. Looks much higher quality. A wonderful watch for affordable price.
So I've had this watch for a while, but was using an Apple Watch. Finally got rid of the Apple Watch and started looking at this again....this whole time, you're telling me it winds itself as I move my arm back and forth??? I never knew that!! As far as my watch, I'm only getting 5 seconds fast per day max. Overall I have grown to love this thing.
Orient makes really nice stuff. Great value for money. I have an Orient Star Classic dress watch and I love it. Beautiful piece. Looks like it cost 4 times more.
I love my Orient Bambino, was just looking for stuff on it on youtube and came across this. Very nice review and kudos. also the reason they use IIII instead of IV is because Romans felt it disrespectable or unlucky to use the symbol for the god Jupiter on a sundial.
Nice watch - hadn't realised you were a watch fan. Nice choice of horological Biblocal quote too! Something about the styling says 'Oris' to me (no bad thing). Not quite a dress watch in my definition, more of an understated general-purpose non-sport weekender, but these things are matters of personal taste and differing culture. Grand Seiko SBGW231 gets my vote for the best watch with this kind of 'look' - hardly a fair comparison given it costs forty times as much (and it's 'only' a manual wind). But what great value! Rough Rider on the wrist!
Oh No! You got into watches 🙄 Nick Shabazz would warn you that it’s a dangerous endeavor 🙂 Great choice of edc gear! As one watch guy to another, very well done on your Bambino choice!
I am sure you are aware as you seem to know a fair bit about watches. For those who do not, if your mechanical watch is fast, when you are not wearing it lay it on its side with the crown up. This is the slowest position for most watches.
It’s actually a watchmaking custom that dates back to the Caesar era of Ancient Rome. It has to do with Julius Caesar’s first name. “IV” in Latin is the same as our “JU.” It’s not a mistake, but rather a tip of the hat.

I have that exact watch, Rob, and I love it. Great value for the money. I agree about the size, 38mm would be perfect.
There is New 36,5 mm bambino called baby bambino.
It’s nice to see a believer not hide their faith! Great review of one of my favorite watches!!

Great review. I'm glad to see you reviewing watches. Perhaps you could get manufacturers to loan you watches for review. Grace and Peace.
it's very cool that the 1 and uneven markers are the same, makes the 11 look like a 1 and confuses the eye for a moment, very cool detail

Great review. I have three Orient automatics and think they are great value for what you get.

Hit Like button!!! :D
Have the same watch in rose gold. Only negative is the strap. It’s too stiff and it’s 21mm.

Did you just say « au contraire mon frère » at some moment ??
I’m quite sure I did.
@@TheApostleP I’m a native French, it got me so confused 😭😭
Whats Your Opinion About Fossil me3099??
The 4 is wrong. In roman numerals it is IV, not IIII as it appears on this watch. That is pretty sloppy.
