Haha! IKR!! 😂Tokyo is really a shoppers paradise! But we only had time to shop at Matsumoto Kiyoshi and Disney Stores. Too many things to do, too little time. Wish we had allocate more time for shopping, but yes, we’ll be coming up with a video on J-beauty products shopping!

And it's enraptured to see you with the piglets in your arms, so it would be cute to describe your feelings in the video.

Hi, Are there service charges and GST/VAT in Tokyo? How are they calculated, that is are they add on charges or the prices are usually inclusive of both, else which one? Also, I like to how tax refund works in Tokyo? I heard tax refund can be done directly at Uniqlo, true? What about other shops?

Hi! Japan’s equivalent of GST/VAT is the Consumption Tax. It’s 10% and it’s usually already added to the price tags of the goods and services. For tourists who stay less than 6 months in Japan, we can get refund on the consumption tax on goods that will be taken out of the country with a minimum purchase of ¥5000 in a single receipt. But not all shops provide these refunds. Shops which provide these refunds will display a ‘Tax-Free’ logo, so do look out for it if you want to do some shopping. Also, to enjoy consumption tax refund on your purchases, you will need to show your passport with the page displaying the entry stamp to Japan to the cashier personnel. So remember to bring your passport with you wherever you go just in case. And yes, the refunds are done directly at the shops. In fact, some shops have special queue area for tourists who are intending to make consumption tax refund purchases. It’s really very convenient and hassle free for us.
      Hope this helps!😊
