Hey I'm a newbie aswell I'm confused cuz when I play the D cord it dsnt play same as urs , is it cuz of its not tuned (toh I already tuned it) or is it due to smthing else
D and E are pretty easy for me so far, i mostly struggle with A, positioning all 3 fingers right next to each other always forces me to pause a moment.
Currently learning the guitar. I really appreciate that these are super beginner friendly and easy to learn. I feel like most lessons aren’t so easy for beginners. The D chord is actually really hard for me and it never sounds right, but I’m sure with more practice I’ll get it down.
I'm learning too and all the time I think something is wrong with me bc it's sooo haard , but I guess learning how to play instrument just isn't easy...
D was the first chord I learned. Then A and E . Then e minor , a minor . Then the dreaded c major , F Magor and G . Cool . You will be polishing these chords for quite a long time but can grasp them quickly with practice.
When my father brought home my first guitar more than 55 years ago and when I picked up the banjo 35 years ago there was no Internet or RUclips to provide a platform for such kind and generous people such as yourself and many others here on RUclips. I'd just like to say thank you for all that you do here for the newer people that want to learn to play the guitar. Your generosity and kindness is simply outstanding, and your gift of the talent that you have, and passing it on to newcomers, will see many new people learn to play. THANK YOU!!
I just began watching his videos, I was so giddy when i finished the first lesson and i was actually playing a song. Very grateful for individuals like this gentleman.
I SOOOO agree. I only started watching recently, and I can already tell you I think they are wonderful. It is AMAZING ( not in a good way ) that he has not won an award that says: ‘THE MOST GENEROUS AND KIND PERSON YOU COULD FIND IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!’ 😃😁😊
I can feel my fingers and they hurt like crazy. I should mention that I'm the puppy of this crowd at 61 years old. However, one week on lesson and a week on lesson two and I'm already having less pain and I can get all the chores(most of the time)!
Be encouraged everyone. It may take longer than 10 days, but we have to keep focused on our goal(s) and keep practicing. I know it will pay off in the long run; and we'll all be better guitarists. Practice makes perfect! ;)
I started on November 12th, and have played almost every day since. I can now play full songs, like "Sun to Me" "Something in the Orange" "Revival" and "Burn, Burn, Burn" by Zach Bryan. I can play some Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, and more. This isn't about me and what I can play, this is about motivating you to keep going, and keep practicing. It might seem you'll never get there, but I promise you will. It just takes some dedication and a lot of will. You got this!!!

Andy, there is just one word for your courses: Fantastic! I am 57 next month. I have always wanted to play the guitar but never found a good course or someone to explain it to me as simple and clearly as you do. I can never thank you enough for this. Never had lessons before, never played a tune before. I played 2 chords one after another today. My fingertips are in agony but I do not care, because my heart and soul are over the moon. I will follow all your courses. And if there are people out there thinking it is too late for them, tell them about me. Even if I cannot play a proper song yet, now you made me believe that soon I will. Cheers mate.
Reading your comment made me think of my own grandpa who's now able to play power chords and songs easily, he started learning at 63, now he's 67! Good luck and I wish you the very best! 😄
Took me about a week just to finally get through Day One. Starting Two now(will continue to practice what I know from Day One to keep it fresh and not get sloppy). Practice makes perfect.
I'm pessimistic about learning guitar before but upon discovering your channel and watching your tutorials I suddenly become optimistic. Thank you so much man! you're a genius! Two thumbs up for you!

I'm really enjoying this because you are keeping it simple enough for newbies like me to keep up with chord changes. I love the idea of just taking two chords at first, and going back and forth between them. That's such a great way to learn. Thanks for the great instruction.

I've been playing guitar for around a year now, I taught myself just from playing songs and learning whatever chords I didn't know required for the songs. I realized I wasn't really getting anywhere because I had no technique or even basic knowledge. I'm staring from the beginning with this guitar course and am finding it immensely helpful!!
It took me about 10 mins to learn the E Chord, 3 hours to learn the A Chord and 2 hours to learn the D Chord. I haven't fully learned the D Chord because its harder than the others since you have to stretch your fingers a bit, other than that I'm doing great.
It is apsolutely the best tutorial on youtube! Everyone else just start explaining like we were playing for years guitar, and actually I bought it as apsolute beginner with will to play it as hobby. Andy explains all steps, gives picture with numbers as well for us who are visual and keep it slow so you could follow and practice. Well done!
I went from racing mountain bikes, to doing track days on my motorcycle, to Astrophotography because of health issues. Now I'm going to take up guitar because all that physical stuff has become impossible. I'm hoping to learn and practice guitar in the hours of down time imaging the universe. Thank you for helping us learn!!!
I started playing guitar when I was 12 until I was 26. I'm now 37 and picked it up again. My fingers are tender and I've forgotten chords. You are such a great help. I play piano but I want to play my guitars. Thankful for your channel and assistance.
I tried learning guitar as a kid (abt 12 yrs ago) and it didn't work out. I'm picking it up again using your lessons. Thank you so much! With my health issues I'm only doing about 20 min practice each day but I'm gonna work my way up over time!
absolutely fantastic Andy after years n years of trying to play, you're series has nailed it for me. My son started off with your vids and now he's a professional musician and songwriter !! Many thanks
Andy..I started teaching someone who has never tried to play the 🎸. I find your system very usable. Its going to save me a lot of time. I am working with several people and I will be recommending your site to probably 10 people.
Picked up the guitar I bought off my dad last year. He put me on to your channel, and I'm thoroughly enjoying practicing the first 3 chords from the first two videos. Fingers are sore so I have to take breaks. But I want to pick it straight back up again. Looking forward to tomorrow's lesson, and hopefully continuing on from there 👍
the D chord is really hard for me. i just cant get the right hand positioning Update: I completely forgot I made this comment more than three years ago. To everyone struggling: Keep going. That stuff eventually gets easier and you get to a point where you can move onto different things and apply what you learned.
I just want to say i really Appreciate this, i have severe adhd and the way you are teaching these things is so easy for me to understand in comparison to other videos. I truly hope one day i can make you proud.
my cousin visited my place with her guitar, so I had 10 days to do whatever I could. Hoping that I'll learn something from here, so far it's been a great experience with this class, and I'm enjoying it ( but my fingertips don't). I'll meet you guys on the 10th day.
Pro tip : if you have fat hands like me, it's always better to use your middle finger, ring finger and pinky instead of index finger, middle finger and ring finger. You can easily fit in small frets.
Day 1 took me 5 days Have come for day 2 but my fingers hurt really bad😢 but am proud to say it's worth it. I can close my eyes and change the two chords E and A Thank you so much and you look like Jesus😊
Take breaks bro. Most of ur brain's learning takes place when you are NOT holding the guitar. Short 10 minute sessions ten times a day is a lot better than a straight 2 hr block as a beginner. Hope u kept up with it
tysm for this course. i just started yesterday, and spent at least an hour with the chord changes and it already feels natural to me. i cant wait to see how much i improve by the end of this course.
Really enjoying working through these. For me I'm doing the video three times a day - on my lunch break, after work and then in the evening. My fingers are tender but it feels much better than the first time.
Your guitar lessons are great I’m also a beginner and you do the lessons step by step . My recommendation fir a guitar coach is you .thanks for the two days of knowledge Andy . Love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
These lessons are really easy and only take up 20 minutes of my day! Day one and two are quite easy so i cant wait to start day three! Just turned 13 and got a guitar so this helps alot! Thank you Andy!
my husband gave me this guitar on my birthday 4 yrs ago but I never learned that much since today... Thanks Andy, you are a blessing to us beginners, though I cant feel my fingers anymore but I am inspired to keep going.
Well, you are officially my favorite internet teacher, Andy. I'm 52. Bought my first guitar 10 days ago. Loads of online teachers who showed me which strings to play, but no one else showed me how to put my fingers ON the strings. Found you a few days ago, and now I can, with the help of a metronome, change between E, A and D with enough accuracy to make me feel proud of myself. The accent doesn't hurt either. I'm in California. Please send HobNobs. ❤ PS Signed up for your full course on your site and am loving it. Thanks so much for making my inner teenager so darn happy!
I see many comments claiming they need more time than just two days for these videos, while I'm here relaxing and doing it in a few minutes. I'm pretty lucky though, since I've been playing the cello for about nine years now, so I guess I've got a huge advantage. Love the videos, looking forward to learning more! And good luck to everybody learning the guitar during quarantine, stay safe!
Come here because of quarantine and already reached day two! So proud of myself cause now I'm learning guitar; my dreams since 15 y.o. and now I'm 25 lol 😅😅
Just found & replaced strings on my old “hardly played” classical guitar. I bought in early 1970! Way back in my teens. Says it’s a Lyle C-640 (Japanese made can’t be that bad??). You were the first teacher to pop up on RUclips, WOW! British accent like the Beatles(:-) WISH MY OLD FINGERS LUCK & understanding in wanting to play W/Family campfire song❤️
I tried to learn from what my family tell me but all their lessons are confusing me, but after I watched this video it helps me alot! ^w^ Gracias (Thanks) Andy!
Is there anyone else that took the 2 days lesson to a week or it’s just me 👁👄👁 And Andy thank you sooo much for these videos i’m learning a lot specially that in the middle east Specifically in saudi arabia there’s almost no places to learn how to play on a music instrument so thank u soo much for this 🙏🏻💞
Thanks! My wife now hates this song as I am butchering it but will master it one day. Downloaded your app and aslo brought the capo from there, you deserve it.
@@Shiva-mh6td Just lower the speed of the video when it comes to the play along in the beginning and after 2 days you may can already go up. The trick is to practice every day a bit.
Ten minutes a day for ten days? Damn bro, I've been doing day one for like five days, practicing two hours a day. I'm only just now taking a glance at day two before going back to work on day one.

Andy explains all steps, gives picture with numbers as well for us who are visual and keep it slow so you could follow and practice.
Well done!
ive never been to usa but now i feel like i was born there.
DreamBoyAdvance why
you know the song is actually mocking the us right?
@@iHateVevoToo um, why?
@@anpham525 because of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War
i like how people always think born in the usa is a patriotic american song but actually its just an anti war song haha
Thank you, Andy, I have made more progress with you in a week than the last six months with my ex-teacher, I will be shopping your products
Yarana songs
Finally got the D chord right after a few days. It was so frustrating lol. Now all I need to do is refine it.
Love your videos
hi! how far did u reach

My fingers are sill decimated from yesterday and this D major is more painful 😂
Hahaha, tell me about it ,😂
im so happy i've finally found a decent guitar teacher man :]
I started playing guitar when I was 12 until I was 26. I'm now 37 and picked it up again. My fingers are tender and I've forgotten chords. You are such a great help. I play piano but I want to play my guitars. Thankful for your channel and assistance.
I used play back in 1970 know in pick it up again I always love to play guitar
I tried learning guitar as a kid (abt 12 yrs ago) and it didn't work out. I'm picking it up again using your lessons. Thank you so much! With my health issues I'm only doing about 20 min practice each day but I'm gonna work my way up over time!
absolutely fantastic Andy after years n years of trying to play, you're series has nailed it for me. My son started off with your vids and now he's a professional musician and songwriter !! Many thanks
Ok guys, no one remind him of the homework he gave us, okay?
I will
Haha, was thinking that
Ouch........my finger hurts... 😢😢😢😭
But it doesn't matter. I'll Learn. 💪💪
me2
That's the spirit😎
it's been a year how much have you learned?
Amen Sandhu I was gonna ask how his fingers are haha😂
@@amensandhu705 how much did u
Andy..I started teaching someone who has never tried to play the 🎸. I find your system very usable. Its going to save me a lot of time. I am working with several people and I will be recommending your site to probably 10 people.
Picked up the guitar I bought off my dad last year. He put me on to your channel, and I'm thoroughly enjoying practicing the first 3 chords from the first two videos. Fingers are sore so I have to take breaks. But I want to pick it straight back up again. Looking forward to tomorrow's lesson, and hopefully continuing on from there 👍
i wanted to give up so many times, this is so much harder than it looks, but your techniques and your cheerful personality kept me going. thank u :)
nice one sir Andy. I watch your guitar lesson everyday and that's how i'm spending my qaurantine. Any one else with me.
the D chord is really hard for me. i just cant get the right hand positioning
Update: I completely forgot I made this comment more than three years ago. To everyone struggling: Keep going. That stuff eventually gets easier and you get to a point where you can move onto different things and apply what you learned.
Interesting I think A is the hardest because you have to smash your fingers together in an awkward position.
Keep on practicing try to just play the d chord slowly and only after you nailed it then try the whole song.
Best of luck
Idk if my ring finger is just too fat or what but I cant get it right. I mute the high e while trying to do the D chord. Really weird.
Me too
Mark A was easiest for me, since I have small hands.
Apparently I m learning guitar while the whole world is in quarantine.
Same here xd How are you doing so far?
@@salinestone6282 great, just practicing Dancing in the dark by Bruce Springsteen.
Kaustav Sengupta me too!!!
Pro tip : if you have fat hands like me, it's always better to use your middle finger, ring finger and pinky instead of index finger, middle finger and ring finger. You can easily fit in small frets.

How can the easiest guitar tutorial not exist? If one guitar tutorial exists in the universe, then it is the easiest guitar tutorial
Day 1 took me 5 days
Have come for day 2 but my fingers hurt really bad😢 but am proud to say it's worth it. I can close my eyes and change the two chords E and A
Thank you so much and you look like Jesus😊
HE LOOKS LIKE JESUS HAHAHA
Take breaks bro. Most of ur brain's learning takes place when you are NOT holding the guitar. Short 10 minute sessions ten times a day is a lot better than a straight 2 hr block as a beginner. Hope u kept up with it
I found what helped me with the D Major switch was just bringing my hand somewhat into a default claw before playing the d major.
tysm for this course. i just started yesterday, and spent at least an hour with the chord changes and it already feels natural to me. i cant wait to see how much i improve by the end of this course.
Really enjoying working through these. For me I'm doing the video three times a day - on my lunch break, after work and then in the evening. My fingers are tender but it feels much better than the first time.
You’re the best Andy! I am so motivated to learn guitar from scratch because of your awesome simple and clear instructions.
Does in Achord we donot need to play the first string and d chord do we nit have ti play the 1st and 2nd string?
my husband gave me this guitar on my birthday 4 yrs ago but I never learned that much since today... Thanks Andy, you are a blessing to us beginners, though I cant feel my fingers anymore but I am inspired to keep going.
Is there anyone like me learning guitar in 2019??
YES! I'm still learning for sure :)
Me!.. I need a mate it's always better if u have a frnd.. to practice with
Same i need a mate too ... ive atarted learning recently
Me too 🙋♀
started learning from Sept 1. following Andy from the beginning.
God bless you Andy! 🎸 You teach from Wisdom that reaches far beyond. Thank you. 🤗
I love this so much. Thank you for making my quarantine a little better. I haven t touched my guitar in 7 years but now it s a great time to do so
The d major cord is little difficult. For you no,because you are the king of the guitar❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
PS Signed up for your full course on your site and am loving it. Thanks so much for making my inner teenager so darn happy!
Definitely like him better than many of the other teachers I've tried
I see many comments claiming they need more time than just two days for these videos, while I'm here relaxing and doing it in a few minutes. I'm pretty lucky though, since I've been playing the cello for about nine years now, so I guess I've got a huge advantage.
Love the videos, looking forward to learning more! And good luck to everybody learning the guitar during quarantine, stay safe!
Me after 106 days : Alright! Time for day 3🎉
It's been a good few weeks.. I think I'm ready for day 2
I use one finger to play the A chord andy your the best teacher on here
Great teacher i find it a bit hard trying to switch chords quickley but i will get there i hope thanks to ure videos
My husband wants to you know that you are a phenomenal teacher!! Thank you!
I learned the ukulele first so I have an understanding on how to change between chords but you are going to help me a lot at learning this thank you.
Come here because of quarantine and already reached day two! So proud of myself cause now I'm learning guitar; my dreams since 15 y.o. and now I'm 25 lol 😅😅
Same here! I started learning 10 years ago, now I'm 29 and I am learning again during quarantine! This time, I'm not giving up! Best wishes to you! 👍👍
You, Andy, are the planet's greatest guitar teacher; why? Because I can follow your guidance after decades of zero progression!!! Many many thanks

Just found & replaced strings on my old “hardly played” classical guitar. I bought in early 1970! Way back in my teens. Says it’s a Lyle C-640 (Japanese made can’t be that bad??). You were the first teacher to pop up on RUclips, WOW! British accent like the Beatles(:-) WISH MY OLD FINGERS LUCK & understanding in wanting to play W/Family campfire song❤️
awesome! give it your best, by day two i played three different chords and i had never picked up a guitar before. thank u for the great work andy
you've got a very pleasant singing voice Andy.
I tried to learn from what my family tell me but all their lessons are confusing me, but after I watched this video it helps me alot! ^w^
Gracias (Thanks) Andy!
Is there anyone else that took the 2 days lesson to a week or it’s just me 👁👄👁
And Andy thank you sooo much for these videos i’m learning a lot specially that in the middle east Specifically in saudi arabia there’s almost no places to learn how to play on a music instrument so thank u soo much for this 🙏🏻💞
I didnt take weeks😂😂 but months🤧🤣🤣
Wait till F chord lmao
Wohhh 🎉session 2 in 30 minites. Easy switching between chords. Thank you for these videos!!
I’m on my guitar journey! ❤
Just got a D to ring out! Constantly watching your thumb position on changes is helping a lot!
2nd quarantine and I finally found something to do, that I actually like
ffs i underestimated guitar
And I thought piano was hard
i had to slow down the video to 0.75 it actually helps to practice
It’s a great idea guys, follow this advice if you need to!
Great tips!
This is my second day am loving this thank u so much Andy
Thanks! My wife now hates this song as I am butchering it but will master it one day. Downloaded your app and aslo brought the capo from there, you deserve it.
OMG!!! im really doing it!!! I´m 48 years old, never thought i could do it. Thanks you so much!!!
😖I can't keep up with his speed of changing the position of the fingers everytime..🥴🥴
Your muscle memory will do it itself after some time of practicing
@@Shiva-mh6td Just lower the speed of the video when it comes to the play along in the beginning and after 2 days you may can already go up. The trick is to practice every day a bit.
THANK YOU!!! Never thought I would be able to learn guitar. I've tried in the past but it seemed so difficult, you make it easy to understand! ^_^
I agree!
Ten minutes a day for ten days? Damn bro, I've been doing day one for like five days, practicing two hours a day. I'm only just now taking a glance at day two before going back to work on day one.
I practiced 2-5 hours a day for 6 days before I got day 1
I forgot to update that I finished this one already, thank u, I’ll come back later for 3rd day
Thank you so much Andy I'm learning alot in a very easy way within a short time❤...

I've been doing this 10 day course for almost a year hahahahaha (save me)
still coming back... one day ill accomplish something
