- We went to Missouri and got a new hood for our wrecked 379 peterbilt. Along with an exhaust and then put it back together.

Damn.....love watching ya'll! The passion and the fun....makes me miss the days when I was out there strolling along in my W900L...and later on in my big black Freightliner XL w/84" sleeper....those were the days....can't wait to see what it's gonna look like when ya'll are done!
I remember when they had a show! I also used to go see that shop and that huge truck stop across the way! All great places to go check out!
I was disappointed last time i was there. They didnt have one thing for my truck so i went to petro across the street and spent ,$1,000 there
You guys look like you're having so much fun with this fine rebuild. But if you're not enjoying your work, then you're doing it all wrong. I can't wait to see this Peterbuilt finished. My big thing is anything airplanes, but I love seeing anything restored.

I do. Loved that show wish it was still in. I've seen them in person & coming down 43 hwy heading to petro with a guy on the outside of the truck on both sides. I even have all of their autographs. They actually wrote their names on paper for me

I think that was one of the best car or truck fix up shows. None of the unnecessary drama and stuff, just the trucks and the incredible work that they did on them.

Not sure how sturdy the hood is but, I used a fiberglass hood before and rhino lined the inside. Didn't add much weight but added strength. Like the build.

Story is Ford built it, crew cab four wheel drive. Has a Sterling rear axle and steel wheels on it.

They make those extended shifters for those truckers who feel they have the need to compensate for something,,,,,,,,,,, I kid,, I kid lol
They make automatics for steering wheel holders. A little extension is ok but some of these guys scraping the top of the cab are ridiculous.

My only question is why didn't you wait to paint the sleeper until you had the hood and paint them both at the same time or spray the whole truck so it all matches.
Have to paint in between the sleeper and cab area. Paint will match aok. My guess is he will Paint the cab and Hood next. Probably just test fitting the hood now.

Yes, however where there is normal wear behind the day cab he will want to re-Paint it so that it’s nice n’ shiny to match the newly painted sleeper and soon to be painted hood

Bro I don't own a truck of any kind but I love you bringing that 379 back to where it was and more. I'm into cars, but my cousin, God rest her soul,was a trucker. She had had a black peterbilt 352 "pacemaker", and hauled all over this country before selling that cabover and succumbing to cancer. Keep doing what you do bro.
