Sin is lying, evil thoughts, lust, etc. Therefore, do not trust in your own works to go to heaven because you realize, being a sinner, you cannot offer the perfect blood sacrifice that God requires to pay for sin. Instead, believe, meaning fully trust, that in Christ's love for you, on the cross, His one perfect blood sacrifice, when Christ bled, suffered and died, in your place, paid for your sins in full, past, present and future ! Believe that Jesus rose from the dead ! Believe Jesus is God Almighty, God the Son, alive for evermore ! And believe that the sinless blood of Jesus Christ is what cleanses you from all sin, which purifies your soul ! Then the Lord Jesus will forgive you, save you from hell and give you eternal life ! When they answer "No", I tell them that I only do business with companies/people that I initiate. Same with phone calls. If I don't recognize the number/name/or if it is only a city/state, I answer (loudly) "Joe's Bar and Grill. How can I help you." There is normally a pause and a soft click and a voice starts. No! By definition if someone invades the privacy of your home in search of money, they must never be rewarded. When they knock on your door they are really a form of panhandler, but worse because it isn't in public. There is no need to investigate or check them out, the only proper response is "Don't want it. No thanks!" until they go away.
Back in 1980 I lived in some apartments that were flooded with door to door "salespeople". So I put on sign on my door saying "Notice to solicitors: I am not buying whatever you are selling even if it is gas at 10 cents/gallon." It worked because this was just after an oil crisis where you couldn't get gas and the price had more than doubled.

In California, to avoid mechanical lien on your house, you should ask the main contractor, subcontractors and material sales company to sign a lien waiver form before paying. This is from the contractor license board of the state of California.
According to CLSB, you only need to deposit a maximum of $1000 for a construction project. If you are paying for the materials, a professional construction company will have no reason to spend more than $1000. In America, you go to work and receive your salary after two weeks. If the contractor insists on payment in advance, you must be very careful. If the company does not have money to pay workers for 1-2 weeks, then that company's finances need to be reviewed very carefully.

Far too many companies turn 2FA into 1FA when you try to change your password. If you can change your password without knowing the old one and just send a code to the phone, you're not using 2FA.

@@sheridansplace1607If you can set up 2FA, but then say "I forgot my password", and they let you reset your password with nothing more than a code they text you, then you don't have two factors. You have the code they texted you, and that gets you into the account. Hence, 1FA. That's the biggest problem with a lot of these setups: they want to automate password resets without you having to prove your ID, but they only have two ways to identify you: password and phone number.

My husband was buying something off the FB Marketplace and the person wanted half the money and would deliver. Well my husband said that is okay I really want to see it first, so what is the address.? He went to the address and the person who opened the door had no idea what he was talking about!! Instead of 'free delivery' ask for the address and go to the place don't be surprised when the people at the door has no clue what is going on!!

Unfortunately, i had a roofer dude who caught me outside changing the oil in my car. I was under my car, and he started his sales pitch. I said hey can't you see?" I'm busy. For the next 3 days, he knocked on my door. I don't talk to people knocking on my door. He finally stopped. Lol, my mailman doesn't like me. i dont have any #s on my mailbox or my house. All i get in the mail is junk. If i mail anything, i go to the post office.i think it's kinda funny the pizza man can find my house. But the mailman is mad

It's best to put little information about yourself or just put out false information. Like in my Facebook, I don't put my actual birthday, I just make it up a date. I don't put any personal information about myself. However, I do put things like my favorite songs🎵 or the movies I enjoy watching 📺.

Do not send money to anyone over social media. It is not that hard for someone to download a photo of someone else pretending to be them; it happens more than you think. Another thing, when anyone wants money on social media that is claiming to be someone you know ask them to do a live video chat. More than likely you'll never hear from them again. There is major operation from overseas inparticular places like Nigeria, Ghana, that actually have training schools to teach them the American language, etc. The reason I'm saying this is is because I've lost alot of money being nice and ignorant. 🙁

I’m HR, and reference checks need permission from the applicant. Be careful when asking references from other references because it could be deemed disparaging, discriminatory, and bad hiring practices.
If that reference refuses or could not give you another reference without the notification to the applicant for permission, and you don’t hire that applicant because of the refusal or inability to give you another reference, you can be sued. There are laws regarding asking for references and doing credit checks during hiring without proper notification and authorization from the applicant.
I would never ask a reference to give me another reference, and as HR, I would not recommend doing so. There are other ways to verify an applicant without what I believe to be deceptive practices.

I am a nice person. We would get people doing that where I live too. At first, they would only ask for $3, then in about 3 more months, they would come back to re-paint numbers when they didn't need re-painting and ask for $10, then again asking for $12. It kept going up and up each time They would knock on the door to collect the money, but I would tell them I didn't have that much and they'd ask for 'whatever you can afford,' and at that time, it was $12. l stopped at the point when they messed up the painting and told them what the issue was, that they painted the numbers on improperly, but also told them that they come around too much and I can't keep paying you every time. They stopped doing it for awhile, but I noticed that two years ago, they started again only this time they posted notices on our doors stating the cost ($15) and that if we did not want our street numbers painted, to tape the notice on the curb over the number, which I did. I have not seen hide nor hair of them since. I will say one more thing, I don't miss them.
