This was also my first zoom lens, but in Nikon mount. I thought it wasn't as good as I could get on sharpness so I got a Nikon 200-500mm, then sold it and got the Sigma 60-600mm, to heavy for not being any better so I went back to the Nikon 200-500. Now after reviewing photos from the last couple of years, I'm about to go back to the Sigma 150-600mm C because I had more keepers. Great video!
Definitely a good value without completely breaking the bank. I’m making another video about it, but you can use topaz photo AI and topaz denoise software to squeeze extra quality out of your photos from this lens at an impressive level
Great video been thinking of getting this lens for a while now, ive seen some people saying the auto focus struggles in Servo mode have you experienced that? Also are you able to crop in with 24 megapixel photos? Thanks and thanks for sharing this video
Appreciate the positive feedback! Yea, this lens definitely does have issues with autofocus and servo mode. Can crop but depending on lighting environment will lose some quality for sure. But for the price, I’ve never found anything close to it that compares. Jared Polin has a good comparison video of this version and the sport version, which seems to fix a lot of these issues, but 2x the price. So for what I need it to do, this lens works for me great so far. I Just shoot in bursts and there will always be a handful of super quality grabs
What kind of adapter do you have? I am considering buying this camera but kinda hesitant because of lenses, but i see you have a sigma lens… it is a certain lens you need for them to work?
It’s awesome! I use a Mieke RF to EF adapter with built in variable ND filter. The sigma 150-600 is available in Canon EF, Sony and Nikon mounts so you just have to get the EF version
I appreciate that you also show your not-best shot at (00:35). I'm still trying to master the camera and it's of course not surprising if images don't always turn out well or don't turn out as well as hoped. Good to see that it is still possible, even though I would describe this camera as a 'beast'. But in a positive sense of course. I'll definitely give this video a chance to finish watching, but I'll tell you afterwards. So I will do that now. What I sometimes experience myself is that even though it seems sharp in the viewfinder, I ultimately have my doubts on the computer screen. This can of course have various reasons (software, screen, raw resolution to show (within the software)). In the meantime, I've only had it for a few days, what struck me about your video (as far as I've seen) is that you usually don't go any higher with a shutter speed of 1/1250. Is there a reason for that? Even if you use a tri-pod, sometimes there is movement that will require a faster shutter speed. Completely plausible with a 400mm lens. Curious for answers!
I'm actually owning these Sigma with an EOS RP and I have tested my Sigma with a EOS R5 from a friend. Now I'm thinking about buying a second body. The R5 is great but also the price. The R6 M2 is more affordable and I believe "good enough" for me. Thatswhy it could be my choice. But ... did you had any AF issue's in sence that the camera whas "jumping around" or whas changing the focus because of that the cam couldn't keept p.e. the Bird eye in focus?
I love my R6 and R7! R5 if a very nice camera, but I’m with you.. the R6 is plenty good for me! At least for what I use it for. But yeah, the AF definitely jumps around a lot on this combo. Pretty sure with this Jensen in general but that’s what the more expensive SPORT version is for I guess. For the money and what I needed this lens for, it was probably the best deal in the market. I don’t use it nearly as much as I should but I’ve definitely gotten my moneys worth out of it!
Thanks! It definitely struggles at times with AF pulsing, especially on moving subjects at 600. My fix has been to use bursts, so even though it has a lower keeper rate than the sport version, I know I’ll have a few sharp ones to pick from. Not ideal, but worth the few thousand $ in savings. Can’t beat it for the price, but if cost isn’t an issue or you get regular high paying sports/wildlife jobs it’s definitely worth going with a higher end setup.
Hello! Im looking to get one of these lenses, the sport version and just want to check that it would work with the R6 Markii as well? Also the adapter i would need would be the EF - EOS R (canon adapter), right? Thanks!
I have the same combo. It's a good lens (great value for money) but not excellent. You need very short shutterspeeds (1/2000th) to get sharp pics and it also only gets sharp at f9 or f11, which means a very high iso. My camera can deal with it but off course it's not a 500 mm f4 lens
Sorry! I got logged out of this count for forever! Yes, I use the Meike EF to RF adapter with built in interchangeable ND filters. It works great. I heave 2 of them and been using for a year now and they still perform great.
Oh wow those pics of the birds and the ducks in action and going under and back up then taking off flying and you captured that that was so beautiful love the pictures i hope to one day own a very good camera with all the different lenses to take amazing photos with my cousin has one that he hasnt used in probably 6 years and had so meany different lenses with it that he spent thousands and thousands of dollars on the man used it 3 times and never again he buys things expensive things just to say he has them and they literally sit in the boxes they come in hes got aboht 700 pairs of shoes in his room and in his garage that have never been wore they will never be wore unless he gives them to my sons cause he wears the same size shoes as my two sons lol

People reporting about pulsing AF issues.

@@ColeMeger Thank u for reply Boss
I’ve got this lens with the m50. Planning on getting the R8 now
Nice! That combo is a pretty solid bang for your buck!

@@SCProductionsTM exactly! I have the meike adapter version with built in nd filter and it works great!
@@ColeMeger ok thank you! Also do you know a good place where I can buy one of these lenses?
@@SCProductionsTM id recommend Amazon certified refurbished or directly from canon refurbished. Or b and h photo if you want a decent deal new

So true! Good insights, I’ve experienced the same thing
Yeah the Sigma is a great buy
Sigma do rf lenses, or Dud you need a converter of some sort?

Haha a real collector! 😂 But yes! The lens collection is wayyyy more important than the camera collection when it comes to getting good photos!
I live in the area...(Dallas) what park are you at?
