I realized it's been around 2 years since I covered what I think is the most extreme reality show on TV, Deadliest Warrior. It's a famous contender in my "worse than you remember" chronicles for good reason. Loved this show as a kid on Spike TV and look back now... differently. So anyways sit back and enjoy! Not gonna say or don't because there is no choice this time. Thank you.

Jeff Bezos is a trillionaire and he cant find a cure for hair loss so anytime something claims they have a cure if a trillionaire can't find it then there is no fucking way in god forsaken hell anyone else especially not poorer is ever going to find it.
Jesse James had access to dinomyte. Why didn't they dinomyte vs hand grenade?
could we get a Andy King collab please? im asking nicely 😅
So glad to see this return as its who I recognized as with as a youngster
You don't read comments 😢
Very surprised they didn't match the grenade with a stick of dynamite....you know...the thing Jesse James used to rob trains and banks lol.
That’s what I was thinking
Yeah I was a little disappointed I didn't get to see someone chuck dynamite ACME style tbh, why wouldn't they have used it?? lol
These match ups were terrible.
I was legitimately pissed off that they didn't.
Yeah it was the perfect lay up too wtf 😂 maybe spike couldn't afford both?
Who will win? One is a caveman, he iust barely learned to sharpen flint. The other iss an Apache helicopter, literally a war machine from the modern day, lets run the test!
How much prep time does the Caveman get tho?
@@ooofyikes7253 like 2 times the moon passes the dry place
I still think Jesse James would demolish Al Capone
@@TheLegPumpkinNot enough time, they won't have the time to properly barracade the cave entrance with sharp sticks...
@NeonPlanes Tommy Gun. Nuff said.
Chris, I’m pregnant. We need to talk.
Again??
🎶You let him hit it raw, didn't have second thoughts...🎶
He did what?!?
🏃♂️💨
Wait his or mine
So Jesse James wouldn't have had a stick of dynamite? Nevermind that would require thought from Spike
my thoughts exactly
Also the fact the first grenades cam about in the early 1700s alcapone specifically had a pineapple grenades or fragmentation grenades
@@pokemontrainer5678 And the most important fact that unless your using a MGL, grenades aren't long range lol.
@@TheLikenessOfNormal I think for exactly that reason it was less "what does Jesse James have that could match a grenade" (as others pointed out dynamite would seem obvious) but "What long range weapon does Capone have that we can pair up against the rifle?"
@@YuYu_Kamimaybe a bolt action WW1 rifle? Nah that's not as cool as a (fake) grenade
The real question... Could those cowboys kick Al Capone's ass as much as syphilis?
Big facts.
And the "experts" haha
The real question who had more STDs
I remember this episode got a lot of flack when it aired for giving capone a grenade over
1) giving capone a grenade over an actual gun.
2) not accounting for bullet proof vests of Capone era.
I mean, Capone had guys from the first world war, actual snipers in his crew.
A grenade is a pretty goofy "long range weapon" pick.
@@TheLikenessOfNormal exactly. They could his given him anything else, but chose a grenade.
Or if they were gonna use explosives give Jesse James like dynamite or some kinda explosive.
@@TheLikenessOfNormal Yeah, as much as I love lever guns, I'd love to see Mr. Winchester duke it out with a Springfield '03, or, as some groups had, early model M1918 BARs. 30-06 would make that .357 or .38 look silly.
The episode pretty much shows that the James gang won because of the skill of their experts shooting ability. I doubt the armor would've made too much of a difference when the experts would've gone for head shots.
@@gatorcroc7212 I think then the question would be why would we assume head shots all time and what would cause one such as James to assume his opponent had armor
I feel like the reason chris make all the deadliest warrior videos is to make back all the money he lost on the bets with his friend when he was a kid
Ahh, I remember when I was a cringe teenager, Capone vs. Jesse James was unironically one of my favorite episodes of the show. The experts this episode were really fun, especially the mobster's son, and the staged simulation had a great theme with both gangs robbing the same bank unlike most of the staged fights which have the combatants randomly face off in a field somewhere. Aside from the weird weapon matchups I think this episode still holds up.
@ville__ Bro what?
@ville__ sir excuse you
The hell is wrong with you?
But I guess you win sir with the obvious rage bait.
@rue8929 True! Granted It does seem super staged though seeing everyone in the fight look roughly the same age. James and Capon were 50+ years apart, Jesse James' gang would all be old men by the time Capone's gang existed.
Chris, PLEASE watch a show called "Animal Face Off" Its basically the same thing as this but with exerts fighting each other about wich animal would win in a fight lol, and they even made animal robots to perform their "tests", it halso had a 3d animation at the end with the fight hahaha
Omg, I SECOND THIS!!! I remember watching the fights on youtube!!! The picks I had as a kid always lost because I just picked who I liked more XD (Well, except for the elephant. But I mean, an elephant vs a rhino isn't a fair fight lol)
HOLY SHIT YES
Wasn't there a dinosaur version of this too???
@@themosin1852 Jurassic Fight Club is what I believe you're talking about. It's awful and I'd be down to see Chris James trash it lol
@themosin1852 oh yes there indeed was! Jurassic Fight Club, I believe
I really do wish there was some sort of petition to bring deadliest warrior back because this show is one of the greatest (and one of my personal favorite shows) in the history of television.
Really? Okay I guess.
I'll bet it'd do well if brought back. The content isn't too different from some really popular RUclips channels.
Same. We need it back
I wish it was back as well
I’m all for it. I can see the simulation testing being used with AI to run the battles
Nah, the dude claimed he could run faster than a horse. He needed to get clowned on.
The cowboy revolvers featured in this episode were Colt single action army revolvers.
They were made after the Civil War circa 1873, and we're not single shot. They held 6 rounds in the cylinder, although an expert would only load 5, resting the hammer on an empty chamber to avoid accidental misfire.
They were also single-action. Meaning that you had to cock the hammer in order to cycle a new round into place in the cylinder to then pull the trigger to shoot.
Just a question. Do you not think Jesse would destroy Capone in a 1v1? I mean, Jesse was really about that life in wild conditions. Just because Capone had better technology, I think is a non-factor. Jesse was a legit gunman. Al Capone was a gangster who usually hid behind his goons.
@@NeonPlanes If Al had a tommy gun, no way.
@@gaaraxnaru Jesse is a duelist. Do you know how fast he could pull his gun and headshot Al Capone? It only takes one shot. Capone having a tommy gun is not the deciding factor.
@@NeonPlanes 1v1 there's a point there, but both rode in gangs and didn't do 1v1. There's zero argument that drive bys with machine guns in cars over horseback revolvers would win, and given they do a 5v5 I highly doubt Jesse James wins.
Good example are the many wars where caveraly vs vehicles were decimated, many many examples of this especially in the world wars.
It's a similar concept in Indian Jones with the dude showing blade skills before Jones simply shoots him.
@ville__ That's absolutely disgusting and I'm reporting that comment.
The way I got Jesse James confused with Jesse Owens for a second and was trying to figure out why they would pick a runner of all people to fight an entire gang
Edit: in retrospect, that's actually as fair a match-up as we got in this episode ngl
It's ok. I heard Jesse James and went to the guy who hosted Monster Garage. Lol
Are you sure they're not talking about Jesse Jackson?
You confused a White guy to a Black guy you definitely need to go to a doctor for some tests.
@@IchNachtLiebe SMH.
Jesse Owens vs Hitler
Yes back to deadliest warrior what a rush of nostalgia
How is Jesse James's answer to a grenade not a stick of dynamite? I know they had dynamite. I played Red Dead Redemption.
I bet you think balls shrink in the cold too, this guy's thinks video games are real
Because, bizarrely, it was the long-range category 😂😂😂
@@Spyderinagourdor that hospitals restore health!!
One thing they don’t take in to thought is that most people in the Wild West carried Bowie Knives so it would still be subtle
Also Tommy Guns were exceedingly rare amongst gangsters, being so damn expensive. It was Hollywood and their large film budgets that could afford the arm the movie gangsters with them.
And does way more damage than a stiletto
Critical 3 inches to get to the heart? Yeah, the bowie could do twice that
At the time of this show that doctor guy was an ER surgeon in Vegas and a ufc ringside doctor. This was just for fun for him lol
Yeah, if the Mythbusters never got their hands on a live grenade, then these guys definitely didn’t get one. LoL
Not necessarily spike could’ve had less strict guidelines than discovery
@@yourcardgame Yeah, it's not about getting the grenade. It's about having the liability insurance to use it.
@@maxbracegirdle9990 idk about you but I have had some jobs where as long as you live they don’t care how it happens that’s all if spike didn’t give a fuck than it could be a real grenade this also was filmed when we were kids assuming your around my age and a lot has changed in our society since then including cracking down on workplace safety
They could have at least used like TNT or dynamite 🧨
I remember my biggest complaint about the show was that they'd just slant it to try and make the victories more ridiculous.
Like we can all objectively say that Capone's gang would win and the big reason they didn't was they made their long range weapon a fucking hand grenade.
Heck, in the scenario they went with the grenade feels more useful. Like if it were wide open, little cover, then the rifle would likely be better. Indoors though, enemies in another room, toss grenade in, aim tommy gun at door, not much you can do to beat that. Shoot, any close range enclosed fight like that something like a shotgun or smg seems like such an overwhelming automatic advantage.
@@fallouthirteen 100% in an urban warfare environment where they're fighting IN a building grenade would dominate the hell out of that contest and likely clear the whole other gang with a single one.
This whole thing was goofy.
@@TheLikenessOfNormal That was my thought, oh you have the entire enemy team in an exposed room. Just toss a few gredandes, and spray.
You need to watch Amish Mafia.
Yesss. I couldn't do it, that show seemed so cringy when I was younger. I tried to get into it, but it just seemed ridiculous.
Alaskan Bush People! 😂
That show was hilarious
I forgot all about this show but yes!
YEEEES I want a semi series of that wild cringe filled mess 😂
The "built different" bit that ends with the Deadliest Warrior doctor explaining why clearly deadly things kill people will ALWAYS be funny
I loved watching this with my grandpa and brother growing up. I miss those days. Things weren’t so serious. I miss you grandpa.
I always laughed that switchblade got the edge over the bowie knife bc it was "concealable" when the bowie was bigger, did more damage, and could be thrown
Adam Savage said that getting a hand grenade was the most difficult item to try to get on mythbusters, so I'm going to say that yes the grenade they used was fake and then they just set off a separate explosive.
The biggest goddamned letdown of this episode was that there was no. dynamite. You break out a hand grenade and you don't match it with dynamite and let us see something really big go boom? Booooooo.
Back when I was in middle school, I used to love this episode. It's kind of weird to see other people acknowledge its existence
Every time I hear it's his last episode on this series I cry, then my feed gets blessed 🥲
I love that the one gunslinger is so close to the target he throws the knife at, you can see his whole arm and the knife plunged into the target in the same frame
I mean I'm like 90% sure sticks of Dynamite existed in Jesse James' time. Why didn't they use Dynamite to combat the Grenade?
Why did they compare the revolver to a submachine gun. They could have used a government 45
Being on break and seeing a Chris James video pop up is clutch!
Hope your shift doesnt suck
Deadliest Warrior is backkkk
This show inspired me as a kid to make my own ballistic jelly at home. It was pretty fun.
I just pictured the end being Jessie James trying to find his horse & Capone driving up in a car just lighting him up w a Tommy Gun & all of the hours of "spreadsheet results" being pointless lol 😂
Also oh you are moving on a horse. Who that is sure gonna help you. I will defiantly not just shoot the horse.
I was remember this episode. We all mocked it during lunch/ study hall smoke pit.
What we should have got...
Single action vs 1911
Grenade vs dynamite
Winchester vs Winchester (Model 12) Remington 10/ Thompson
Meele weapons and vehicles were perfectly fine.
Keep it up Chris. I love the ad libs and dry humor.
The only problem with the vehicle match up is, horses don't do well against automatic fire.
Deadliest Warrior is basically Death Battle for History Nerds
Great shirt (both of them), king
I never expected you to be here.
@@GregorMcEwan-lk9bp Looks like Chris didn't either! And still doesn't, nyuck nyuck nyuck
The spetsnaz and the green berets was even more intense with the trash talk
Hmm... 🤔 What could we possibly pit against a hand-grenade? Oh... what about dynamite? 😮 Derrr.....
My jaw dropped when I saw the grenade was for the long range category.
Shamelessly idiotic
Knight VS Pirate is the best episode!
That was the episode that made me realize how bs the show was with it testing
Ninja vs Spartans was also peak
@@nicolasmeiselI remember when the finals happened they put the pirate in the same category as the modern day soldiers. The knight was robbed of his chance to beat the spartan and be the deadlier warrior.
@@4thSurviver oh absolutely. That would been a better match up. Two walls of armor. Knight kinda just got misused.
Ofc I also think the pirate should have fought the ninja.
@@nicolasmeisel It also isn't really fair to have someone in steel armor, wielding steel weapons. Oh who is gonna win in this hand to hand combat experience someone covered head to toe in armor that cannot be damaged, or penned by the other guys weapons? let's find out.
RIP Johnny Frato ;-;
Howard Stern LEGEND

YES! Seeing another one of these videos is actually the best thing that's happened this week!
Seriously, my Venmo got hacked and it's been a shitty week. Thank you for making another one of these, I love your videos!
I introduced my husband to this channel a few weeks ago and the series of videos in Deadliest Warrior were some of the first we watched.
I cannot express JUST HOW EXCITED I am for this video. Let’s GOOOO!!!!
I LOVE your sense of humor! You & Layze!
You know you've played too much New Vegas when you're expecting James Gang to throw sticks of dynamite.
When I was little my dad had a $100 bill from the Capone era. He sat me down and he was all "see this $100, bill? Al Capone could have touched this. That's how old it is". I was like ok.. 😂
😂 That is really neat.
I did the same thing with a 1945 American penny. I was all excited thinking maybe somehow James Dean or Paul Newman had it for change at some point.
I've said it once and I'll say it again: I will watch as many Deadliest Warrior breakdowns as you make. Even if you just did like an off-the-cuff stream of you watching and commenting on an episode, I think it would be highly entertaining. I was also obsessed with this show when I was in middle school to the point that I had bought nearly the entire series on iTunes at one point. I would literally watch a whole series of your commentary on this chaotic masterpiece of a show lol
I remember when I was young and saw the name of the episode I was like "How is this even a fight? Capone has fucking machine guns!"
This was a match where the tech didn't matter it came down to who was the superior marksmen and that was the James Gang.
Now while yes Al had WW1 vets including snipers who were trained marksmen in his gang they did not make up the majority of Al's gang the majority of the Capone gang were bootleggers like him who primarily used intimidation, racketeering, bribery, and having their fellow gang-members infiltrate the police or take up positions in local politics in order to get away with their crimes hence why it took that federal task force led by Eliot Ness to bring him down via getting him on tax evasion a federal white collar crime.
Jessie, Frank, and the members of James Gang were all war-vets as they served in the Civil War as part of a Confederate Guerrilla Unit along with being taught how to use firearms at a early age as they were taught how to hunt for food because the lifestyle the James Brothers, and their future gang members lived was the rural country-boy lifestyle which back then meant learning how to track, and hunt wild game so the family could have food due to most of the time not having enough money to go into town to buy food meaning missing a shot while hunting meant whatever wild game you were hunting got away and now the family pretty much don't have a viable source of food mainly meat and protein to eat.
@@derrickhaggard Except the dumb ass show tested the modern people, not the historical guys. A lot of bootleggers were WWI vets, who would be a hell of a lot better marksman than some random guy.
@@derrickhaggard I could forgive it some, if the simulation wasnt lthe definintion of shooting fish in a barrel.

Being the one rooting for Al Capone, this genuinely triggered me when i first saw it.

What's gonna beat the hand grenade? Dynamite! I can't believe they forgot about DYNAMITE!!!
Don’t know if you recognize him, but that ER doc was also on Spike 1000 Ways to Die (or whatever it’s called). Wonder if Spike TV paid better than an average American Emergency Room. Probably,
That Al Capone guy is like Richie Aprile.
I think I stumbled on your channel when you did your first deadliest warrior video and you only had maybe 40k subs. It's nice to see that your channel is growing pretty fast, and by the looks of your views, your subs are still lower than they should be or you already have a dedicated audience. Either way, good job Chris
When the dude introduces one of the gunslingers and the guy chucks a knife, I thought for a SPLIT SECOND, my guy was LITERALLY SLINGING HIS GUN at a target and it cracks me up so much, how I wish they'd do that..
The fact they went with a Winchester Rifle…and not you know…dynamite against a hand grenade is so fucking goofy.
THANK YOU
Grenade i think would win over a stick of dynamite cause of the kill radius of the shrapnel
ANOTHER BANGER
even on DEATHBATTLE's worst day of terrible matchups, putting an automatic against a revolver is insane
Love deadliest warrior bringing back so many memories watching these videos and its a good laugh keep em coming please🙏
Shout out to the equals 3 transition noise for the Keeps Ad
RIP Ray I really do miss you buddy
I don't know Al Capone very well but if this is a 1v1, didn't al capone rely more on his gang to do hits for him? How good of a shot was Al Capone? Jesse James was known for being one of the best shots in his time, plus he had better ranged weapons. In the end it's really whoever ambushes who first.
That's why it's their gangs facing off.
Correct. And when it came to ambushes and sharpshooting that was the James Gang's ace in the hole.
To be fair Al had to get to his place, and I'm pretty sure he came up as an enforcer. So he was probably a decent shot. He also was pretty good at brawling. But Jesse would also be a pretty good shot, and brawler. The only real difference is Al can roll in with an automatic machine gun.
Thank You! Chris for Revisiting this forgotten gem of a Show.
You are currently one of my favorite RUclipsrs! Keep it going!
wtf... they could have compared the Tommy gun to a Gatling gun, at least then the Civil-War-era weapon's disadvantage would be more of a logistical drawback and not a complete relative lack of firepower
My best guess is that they didn't use the Gatling because they had already used it for Lawrence of Arabia.
Your problem is the comparison of a Tommy gun to a revolver? Not a hand grenade against a long rifle...? Edit: AND THAT ALSO THE HAND GRENADE WAS CONSIDERED A LONG RANGE WEAPON
@@maxstrong6915 Hahahaha yeah neither of those things made sense either :D
@@Bad_Gazpacho Of course. That makes perfect sense in TV producer land lmao
