I just ordered one. I am 53 years old and in the 70s about 1976 my mom got an LED in gold that was a Pulsar and it was gold looking like that one. I look forward to receiving my Armitron. Thanks for the review.
@@rickcamp7807 I am 30 and like retro perspective Smartwatches have a mediocre battery life it's always good to keep a spare watch if you want to continue to tell the time.
I was so impressed with the griffy, gold and red led just like you and the 70's. So glad I didn't pay more for a 'fun' watch. Enjoyed it so much I satisfied my 80's itch with the Armitron "rubik" and couldn't be happier with that one either!
A fun watch worth having in a collection. It isn't literally an LED, because it is a backlit LCD using a red illumination light. But it still looks nice. My uncle invented the LED watch, so it's nice to see so many homages pop up lately. :)
@EVAN PAUL True, but is it really? It doesn't look anything like an actual LED to me. Certainly not like any of the originals, Gerlach, PSR, Ti calculators, etc.
@@nicsamazingpinballchannel7688 I think you are both correct. These digits are not light emitting. The backlight however, is LED. It is a backlit LCD with one or more LEDs providing the backlight. If you look at vintage ones, the displays are VERY sharp, but they're also very small. I wish the Griffy display was sharper, but as a 50 something with degrading near field vision I am happy the numbers are large.
I just got mine this weeks past monday and it so retro reissue 165 feet water resist witch is about 50 or so water resist so with that water resist my experince on how well it is water proof washing hands accdental dunking in water and 1 meter of water resist

Wow a man wearing red nail polish😍
Thanks for the video. I really would love to see this style of watch make a comeback. I got the Rubik but looks like I missed out on the Griffy.
Thanks for watching! I figure Armitron may restock these soon if they haven't already.

Modern yet, extraordinary takes on the classic LED watch.

I got one today for $10.00 at Walmart. Seems to be well made. I'm planning on traveling back in time, to about 1977.
What battery number does this watch use?

great video!
Cool
Is that a trini I hear???
Armitron has some history worth looking into, from the looks of this little video I recently watched: ruclips.net/video/xkbkiIDPXV4/видео.html
You wear nail polish!
Haha - Mrs. Fit for the Soul demonstrated the watch for the video, while I did the narration.
That is his wife he is talking but the demonstrator is his wife
