I.m.o. this is one of the better space synth productions on RUclips. Most others feature annoying techno beats and drums or are a bit too ambient (boring). This one is just right and really gives that soothing spacetravel / Blade Runner feeling. -Edit: just read in the description this is actually "unattended music". Just wow!
I am sitting in the Blade Runner universe while listening to this amazing arrangement you have created. Totally transporting me to a different place and time. Thank you, from a Vangelis fan, for creating this absolutely perfect piece.
After listening to this way too many times, I've finally bought the lossless version on bandcamp. And I gotta say, there are *so many* , so many tiny little details that are lost here on RUclips. Stuff like the sirens, railway sounds, the wind, it goes on. Since I was a little kid, I've been mesmerized by this kind of music. Jean Michel Jarre, Schiller, Pink Floyd, Vangelis - you've earned your place right beside them for me. Please keep up your stellar work! :)

Thank you for the inspiration, friend! :)
Don't be so dismissive guys. What are "feelings"? Isn't it ultimately just a term we give the emergent awareness that arises from our brains working? A complex network of neurons firing electrical impulses? And aren't computers doing the same? Now sure.. it's not the exact same thing. Human brains are different from computers. But it's absolutely in the realm of reality to assume that machines can have something you could call feelings or conciousnes as an emerget property. I'm not claiming that his synths have feelings. But it's also not such an unthinkable idea as one might think. We humans aren't that special. Our brains aren't unique. Conciousness and feelings are not exclusive to us.
@@earlgrey2130 "Humans aren't that special" "our brains are not unique" I was prepared to destroy those statements with long established scientific facts until it occurred to me that you were exclusively speaking only of yourself.
Reminds me of a piece performed live for an incredible show at the Oregon Ballet. The synth 's , there were two, played by a couple guys who were really talented. The choreography was incredible. Standing ovation all throughout the house. It was back in 1993 I think. This one reminded of that show. It was the most progressive Ballet shows I've ever seen .
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." What a wonderful music!

From the title I was expecting a Dune-esque feel from this one. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I get a solid Blade Runner vibe from it, instead. This is just beautiful. Think I'll loop it while reading through "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" this evening. I always enjoy viewing this impressive set-up under the blue light.
Your pieces are becoming the background music for my house lol (no i don't live in space). This and "fragments" have literally been playing for 4 days or more while i'm studying for network/sysadmin degree and i've been sleeping like a baby. May millions of playlists be created in honor of this great channel :)!
This is beautiful. Almost an awareness to it all even though you know there isn't. I know this has been explained before by some industry professionals on a documentary or something, but even from this video you can start to feel it speak.
I've watched/listened to this over a period of a week whilst writing and have enjoyed it very much. A very informative use of drone to its fullest effect. What intrigues me is how you can be sucked into just staring at this static object and its magical forest of lights. Fascinating to watch you consider how to close it down in real-time with live commentary throughout. I'd happily sit in a cinema and watch this on 4K for 4 hours. Maybe your next project?! And now it's finished I'll sync it up again.
Absolute goals right here to have a laboratory like this. Right now I just have a draw full of breadboards, capacitors, op amps, transistors, and a dream.

You can up on my suggestions . I’m in heaven with this . Blade runner is my favourite movie and none of the tracks are long enough. This is just on another level for me . Thanks you so much I’m subscribed for more
after so many years of listening to music, i have understood that if I come back to a track/album etc is because it is giving me that something. and yeah - Folding Space - is really giving me the feelings to come back again and again. State Azure bravo man, you breath really fresh air to sounds that are so legendary. the performance of your patch is tremendous.
This is beautiful on so many levels. It’s also precisely why I am unable to find peace “making original” music in the modern era. Is my input valid when you can set a minimal amount of voices with minimal programming and come away with something as visceral and inquisitive sounding as the blade runner soundtrack? Funny, too, now that I consider the themes of the movie itself. Thanks for this!
Cool but is synth music the only music that matters? how to get modules to bring acoustic sounds in? sampling? is non spacey drifty patches even possible? grooves and performances are still important things to try and perfect.. just escape all genres and textures and hand yourself over to notes and rythms... what we are hearing is missing alot of awesome musical cues.... so by no means is this "complete"..... unless all you wanted to make was something sleepy or relaxing.. then it IS COMPLETE
You aren't giving enough credit to the state of mind you attain while you're creating your music :) No matter how good AI becomes at composing, you'll only ever experience the end product of that process, unless you do it yourself.
I have no idea how this all works but it’s absolutely amazing, looks like something straight out of an 80s sci fi flick. Always wanted to get into modular synths but all those cables look so overwhelming for someone who has only used plug ins.
The cables are just routing. It’s all the same concepts as plugins, just replace LFO with “control voltage” where a lot of things can become LFOs/audio-rate modulation oscillators (“fast LFOs”). No presets, but... you can take a picture/make labels lol. And very, very expensive. I am sure this setup was well over $10,000. With modular, part of what you’re paying for is the workflow/experience of using it, and the freedom of routing. But you can do everything you’ve heard here with softsynths.
If I had bought this system altogether just like this, three years later I still don't think I'd understand how to patch it. I started with just a few modules, much easier to learn and understand how it works that way.
@@stateazure Maybe because that not the point. Music isn't only about tech stuff. The fondamentals of synthesis is important of course but don't try to understand everything right from the start. Sometimes you just need ears... Maybe you guys should give it a try and download voltage cable modular from cherry audio i learned a lot off workflow elements on this plugin... And it free

After having a ROUGH DAY at work...turned this on, and my stress started to wash away. I told my boss about this piece and said that he should defiantly try it out. THANK YOU for giving me my sanity back on a day that I thought I would not make it through.
so what happened?
@@challengecoins4u The stress that I encountered melted away, put things into perspective and realize that life is GOOD. I listen to this when I want to disconnect and just be in my own space. My boss who is VERY artistic, loved the piece. Said he would listen to it while he painted.
This is one of my favorite things on the internet, truly serene, perfect for chilling out or sleeping
A very well behaved machine with good mannerisms and excellent posture.
I literally do not know how anyone can put something like this together. The amount of know-how that requires must be insane.
This makes me feel really inspired when I'm writing so thanks for that!
and to learn this is unattended music
I just read the description and still have no idea what I read. It was like another language entirely. I'm in awe of this, not only the music but what goes into it... The intelligence and time needed.........
It's genius.
Glad you enjoyed it! The patch notes are for modular heads and also as a reminder to myself how the patch was constructed :)
This is absolutely incredible. I've been drawn to this channel for months but I sat down earlier, put this on and just sat there. No phone, no distractions, just closed eyes and an empty mind. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia for things I haven't experienced, and that blows my mind.
This will now be my "go to" piece for relaxation/reflection. Amazing work as always, thanks for sharing it with the world.
In other words, it excites you for what the future beholds
I just finished a ketamine infusion. I listened to 2 classical pieces and then finished it off with this. The big low drones were very grounding and the sound of the bus/train station were very prominent throughout the session and acted as a sort of signal for the next memory to come up.
Thank you for providing a very healing experience!
I have a record of Gran Mal seizures & would like to try this infusion. Any suggestions on direction to search ? ThankU
When you've found state azure you've found the gateway to a paradise universe. An epic journey through space time continuum so beautiful you would not want to return. so beautiful! so grateful to be alive in this time period, and not thousands of years ago, being able to hear music like this on such sophisticated equipment is just magical. humans are truly incredible!
I.m.o. this is one of the better space synth productions on RUclips. Most others feature annoying techno beats and drums or are a bit too ambient (boring). This one is just right and really gives that soothing spacetravel / Blade Runner feeling. -Edit: just read in the description this is actually "unattended music". Just wow!
Listened to this for like 3 minutes and immediately wanted to watch Blade Runner.
On a good rainy Sunday with nothing to do I like to put on Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 and just sink into the zone for a few hours.
I had a same feeling but to play "X Beyond the Frontier".
Fist thing i thought of was Alien, but probably Blade Runner if i watched it.
I am sitting in the Blade Runner universe while listening to this amazing arrangement you have created. Totally transporting me to a different place and time.
Thank you, from a Vangelis fan, for creating this absolutely perfect piece.
I've listened to this so many times and just the simple shot of the synth with all its blinkies and whatnot is so damn soothing on my tv

The more I dive into music production and sound design I'll stumble across these amazing videos. Blows my mind what people can create.
Keep at it man. It changes your life when you find your passion and hone it.
This setup isn't what's awesome. You're what's awesome, the creator, who gave it life so it could give us music. Thank you for sharing these sounds.
I keep expecting Steve Hillage to burst into song at any moment - this is most excellent!!
I’d love to see a demonstration to show how this was done and how long it took to set up. Really cool.
Wow, I missed out on two 2years of this. I’m so glad I came across this. This is very therapeutic to the soul. My thoughts, nerves, and muscles are immensely in a relaxed state when listening to this. Thank you 👽
Welcome to the club mate 🙂This exact ambient does the same for me. I know I'm going to be listening to this from time to time for the rest of my life. Hope you can relax a bit 😘
Nice. Reminds me of the Bladerunner soundtrack. Where Deckard is flying to meet Tyrell and the sun is shining on the pyramidal building..
If only our dystopian future was to be so cool...
Me too
That's because of the 4ms Ensemble module that he's using to sound like Vangelis who's the composer for Blade Runner.
I believe this is how Love was born out of space dust. Calm, energetic, peaceful and deeply loving vibe. Amazing!
Man creates machine. Machine creates music. Music creates feelings. The circle closes.
Let’s all give a thumbs up if we think this video deserves more views!
As an artist, I have spent my whole life searching for examples of clear definitions of what I aspire to be able to do with sound. As of recent - diving head first into modular synthesis, sound design, ambient music, and to a deep spiritual core of music - This is evocative of what I will one day make! Thank you for the inspiration, friend! :)
Thank you :)
I'm in the same boat but, to be this good requires ALOT of time. I notice the Octo sitting there, is it sleeping on this one?
This is wonderful. Machines have feelings, and they express those feelings through us.
Oh don't start that shit.
No, they don't silly.
@@earlgrey2130 "Humans aren't that special" "our brains are not unique"
I was prepared to destroy those statements with long established scientific facts until it occurred to me that you were exclusively speaking only of yourself.
If anyone has a Voight-Kampf unit handy, we can settle this fairly quickly...
Listening on my Adam A7x s and Adam A10 sub in a treated studio. Way cheaper and better than therapy. Thank you for this from the bottom of my heart.
Some of the best ambient creations I’ve ever heard, and I’d stand on Brian Eno’s workstation with dirty shoes and say that. Bravo!
I literally just got in my car and was about to drive home when this entered my recommended. I wish it was raining 😂
You had me at "Vangelis"
This is addictive. I meditate to it. I do yoga to it. I mowed the yard to it. Always puts me in a dreamy good mood. Rain or shine. Cheers
The Vangelis lead is the best sound ever.
Sounds great, no doubt, BUT you're hearing more of the reverb added than the actual source sound!
Absolutely phenomenal, hope this talented guy can put out more generative (yet heavily prepared / worked on) pieces for many years to come
i remember how much my mother wishpered this tune in my childhood.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." What a wonderful music!
Just found this. Currently playing No Man's Sky while melting into my chair. Perfect pairing.
I listen to this while playing NMS as well and it fits perfectly!!
Very Relaxing Music
My partner went through *36 hours of labour with this on loop in the background. Thank you for helping her/us through it.
*edit. It seemed like 24 hours to me, but a lifetime to her.
whenever I have a deadline in my Astronomy class that I have to study for, I always come back to this track for focus lol
This should be published as its own track, I love it so much
Not to brag, but I listened to this all the way through. And every moment was dope
This is my fave of all the generative patch music. Great for late night work sessions!
Usually don't write comments, but i love it, best modular ambient i've heard!
Thank you!
🙏🏽
Your pieces are becoming the background music for my house lol (no i don't live in space). This and "fragments" have literally been playing for 4 days or more while i'm studying for network/sysadmin degree and i've been sleeping like a baby. May millions of playlists be created in honor of this great channel :)!
That's nice to know! Glad it's helping :)
This is beautiful. Almost an awareness to it all even though you know there isn't. I know this has been explained before by some industry professionals on a documentary or something, but even from this video you can start to feel it speak.
We may be surprised to learn about the nature of emergent awareness.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed this. I hope to get around to doing another long session of one of these at some point in the near future!
same here!
What a perfect mix

I feel that I need this machine. To make music but mainly to feel that I am at the helm of a great spacecraft on an endless journey to the depths of the cosmos
staring at the blinking lights adds a nice dimension too.
This is perfect. I Listen to this in the studio to warm me up and get me inspired. I’ll play a guitar (less notes the better) through the pedal board and jam over it (Big sky involved) It puts me in the right headspace , vibe. It’s like having a drink before djing at a party It gets you in the mood. Thank you sir. Snow drift is another one ☝️
What a grand achievement. Endless thanks to the creator.
what an excellent trip, so much variation with so little. I left this running as bg during work today, felt very relaxed. I know how hard it is to make such long pieces without it being tiring or repetitive, and you just showed us a masterclass. thank you.

WOW, Vangelis meets Tron meets Bladerunner meets my Amiga. This is more than a little awesome.
Absolutely beautiful music, thank you! Great to focus and work without having to think about changing the music.
Thank you!
This is very nice, but comparing this to Vangelis' masterpiece in quality is just plain ridiculous. Its not even in the same universe.
This is so good,This is the Dream of The Sheep :)

I agree.
I knew I smelled Vangelis in here. God dam, this shit hit so hard at 2 am. Thank you so so much for this work of art.
And it free
Having this on in the background while listening to CS lewis Out of the Silent Planet, is a pretty damn cool experience
