FYI, from now till October all trails at Soquel Demonstration Forest will be closed for recreational activities, including biking, during weekdays. You can still ride on weekends though

@mtbchronicles That's just my damn luck😤. I'll be coming down from Oregon. I guess I'll stop to ride in Santa Cruz first before heading to central Cali. Thanks for the info, man. I really appreciate it, and your video was awesome👍🏿👍🏿

I rode it when it was closed, about a month before this. I know that's not cool from a community standpoint, but I didn't get into mountain biking to follow the rules. Never fear, I was justly punished: I crashed, scratched my knee, broke my derailleur (and had to hike six miles up the tractor trail to the ridge and then back down and out to my car on Highland), dented my rear rim, and permanently like canted my rear tire, which I had to replace. Awesome trail, will be back over Christmas (hope it's not too wet).

The reality of mountain biking is that rules were made to be broken. i myself have broken quite a few, but won't get into that right now, lol. Oh, and yes, trail Karma is a definite thing. Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad you'll be able to ride again soon enough!

Why was it closed? Hoping I can ride it in a couple weeks, weather permitting.

@huntstyle it was closed for many months due to substantial trail and road damage from the intense storms from last winter. It's open now and should be for the foreseeable future. Although riding the trails during and right after substantial rain can create trail damage

what is the full route you go? Do you go downhill on Hihn Mill Road then uphill Sulphur to link up onto Ridge trail shortly to reach Flow trail then climb back up Hinh Mill Road back to the car? what's the mileage and elevation gain?
I am trying to knock out both the flow trail and Braille trail with the least amount of mileage/elevation gain. Thank you!

Yes. That's exactly what we did that day

    • @mtbchronicles

Just over 9 miles and 1800ft of elevation for the 1 lap

amazing thank you so much. i am trying to find the best/quickest route. Seems like this is the best route to include braille as well if I wanted to knock out both Flow and Braille in 1 BIG ride.@@mtbchronicles
