I had a college professor that locked the classroom door. If the student was late he made the student apologize to the class for wasting everyone's time. He was one of the best professors. He was just like Mr. Hand. That was 30 years ago.. most of what he taught in the class has stuck with me, while other classes are long forgotten.

Spicolli ordered Double Cheese and Sausage. There as no Sausage on that pizza. Spicolli got screwed out of his pizza, AND sausage. It's a cruel, mean world.
The sausage was the thin type of sausage and it looked hidden under the cold hard double-cheese pizza with got cold by the time it got delivered to Spicoli but it was there.

The set design was very well done and even though the movies story is an acquired taste, the art of what went into that set design I feel should be more appreciated because it was very well done.

This was pretty much every high school in the 80s. A buddy of mine was 1000% Spicoli. Looked like him. Talked like him. Frustrated his teachers to no end. We DID used to order pizza in like this. Not to the classroom, but to the school's main entrance. Once word got around what we were doing, the school tried to stop it by making an announcement that having food delivered in was, "a violation of the national nutrition act." 😂😂😂 The tactic did not work.
I just realized that in an earlier scene when Spicoli showed up late to class and got locked out, Mr. Hand was telling the class that FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM, which makes this scene even funnier.

About the 'food lines'. He might have said 'food machines' which is accurate. I went to the same school as Cameron Crowe. Even though it's a private school, at that time ALL we could purchase food-related came from a long row of those glass encased food machines. Like a bagel is F-3, snickers bar is B-2. Nothing I would call real or nutritious. Also only say ~15 machines for 1,200 students. You could spend your whole lunch period just standing in line if your classroom was on the far end of campus.

I just realized that in an earlier scene when Spicoli showed up late to class and got locked out, Mr. Hand was telling the class that FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM, which makes this scene even funnier.
Too funny. Mr. Hand was so cool about all of this.☺
Mr. Hand is the kind of teacher who requires respect and also gives it. He doesn’t play mind games or talk down to the students.

About the 'food lines'. He might have said 'food machines' which is accurate. I went to the same school as Cameron Crowe. Even though it's a private school, at that time ALL we could purchase food-related came from a long row of those glass encased food machines. Like a bagel is F-3, snickers bar is B-2. Nothing I would call real or nutritious. Also only say ~15 machines for 1,200 students. You could spend your whole lunch period just standing in line if your classroom was on the far end of campus.
Kids today would cry and demand their safe spaces!
