Thank you for sharing your fishing experience.
Amazing you were able to fly fish the LA River; and then actually end up catching some excellent bass. Totally awesome.

    Such a Merry Christmas! 🎁
You be catching the spawners of all those babies you've been catching, and you deserve it!

Your videos are awesome dude. SoCal bass are so pressured and finnicky, yet you manage to catch good numbers and quality in spots most anglers (myself included!) completely overlook. You're inspiring my to bust out my waders and explore some urban creeks in Long Beach and Orange County. Would love to meet up and learn from you sometime.

@AndyBallona Wow, comments like that absolutely make my day and keep me going when times (and fishing) are tough; thank you!!! Yes, we have a ton of fishing pressure here in LA and in SoCal, but it makes me want to work harder to get onto some good fish. Yeah, get the waders out and explore some local waters, and for sure, let's go fishing together when our schedules allow it!!

Didn't even know there was bass that size in the river! If you don't mind me asking what a pattern fly are you throwing? Been trying to get back into fly fishing by practicing at Balboa.

@michaels2569 Yes, there are only a few of these larger ones in that small river, but the vast majority of bass are much smaller there. Anyhow, the flies I use depend on the season, time of day, temperature, and water clarity for the day, but here are three that should get you some results (ie. the fish in this video were all caught on these flies):
      1. Reverse tied minnow pattern (bight color during summer, go darker during winter)
      2. Woolly Bugger (color olive or black with some flashing tied in)
      3. Squirmy worm fly (use either really bright or dark color for contrast)
Keep practicing and I hope you get lots of bites. Cheers!!
