Love this dram ! Obviously would love it a lot more unchilfiltred and stronger.
I agree 100%. Have a happy New Year!
@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies happy new year erick ! I'm on Arran at the corrie hotel.3 they have jura 18 very cheap and a wide range of Arran malts as would be expected. I had fun trying them all over the last two nights and obviously visiting both distilleries my girlfriend got me the fingals cut quarter cask heavily peated . And i got the two Arran blends lochramza and sou, wester. And a bottle of new make peated lagg% 63.5 I'm hoping the ferry gets cancelled it is extremely windy haha happy new year Erick.
This is my favorite Jura. I get a funky cheese smell on it that I like, prob from the red wine influence but idk.
At $150 CAD this is a tough sell for me.
Ya, no way would I pay THAT much!
Jura seems to be on people's minds lately. Wondering about that.
That is the Wait Effect.
Jura only came to life for me in independent bottlings. That is to say non chill filtered and at, or above, 46% ABV. This offering, as with all their core range, needs to make some changes.
This one is VERY affordable here in Sweden at just 70euros. Thats less than a Macallan 12! Im a big fan of Jura but i must say that i loathe their presentation. Those bottles look so tacky!
I'm also a Swede who generally prefers Bourbon, but the selection is very limited here and it's expensive. Jura 12 yo hit a lot of the same notes for me, lots of vanilla, nutmeg, almonds, butterscotch and charred oak. It's also bottled at 43% instead of 40% which is too common for the Swedish market. I'm definitely going to seek out their 18 yo to see how it compares.
