It has nothing to do with half-hearted work. And certainly not with endless thinking. If you want to change things in your life, such as learning to deal with fears, you have to take things into your own hands in a structured way and with effort. Only if you persevere and do the things you want to avoid will you develop sustainably. The mental merry-go-round will only make you weaker and your fears will always control you. Take the difficult path, your path, not the easy one. The difficult one makes your character grow and gives you more opportunities in the long run.

Also i had the same hyperfixiation with appendicitis! I had to actively work on all my fears in therapy. My amygdala was working overtime and now it’s calmed down and i don’t spiral like that anymore
