Just letting you know this still helps people to this day, got the game some weeks ago and never lasted past 2 days. After countless playthroughs of frustration i bit the bullet and turned transmission off and looked for fun builds. Spawned in rosewood and have been popping heads for a week with no end in sight, Much thanks brother😂
Been going burglar for weeks now, but I wanted to change occupations already so I've been researching. Stumbled on this video and I personally think it fits my playstyle and points. I'll try it out immediately!
@@Aidanomic Seeing the other comments as they keep repeatedly dying early on or zombified later on, it's probably because having Thin-skinned trait affects you a lot more than necessary, making risks higher. I had two consecutive characters with this showcased build ended up being lacerated and later on getting the zombification symptoms. The build is pretty good combat-wise and I loved it, but there are adjustments I had to make and adjust to my playstyle. Probably because I'm frankly new to the game and need more experience. I still kept the core concept of the build though and that key point is the aggressiveness. Here are the traits I took: Occupation: Fire Officer *Negative Traits* ~ High Thirst ~ Slow Healer ~ Underweight ~ Conspicuous ~ Prone To Illness ~ Smoker ~ Weak Stomach ~ Clumsy ~ Cowardly ~ Short Sighted (I've been using this since I started playing a month ago, but I honestly don't know what the game's like without it.) ~ Slow Reader *Positive Traits* ~ Cat's Eyes ~ Dextrous ~ Gymnast ~ Keen Hearing ~ Organized ~ Athletic ~ Strong
@Nat This build does take a little while to get used to, it requires a bit of practice. Thin Skinned is basically there as once you master combat its essentially free points. That's a nice build you've put together though!
@@Aidanomic Now I understand WHY Thin-skinned is a free trait in some sense. I got Lacerated once on a character I was already attached to AND IT GOT ZOMBIFIED. It was also the only time that character received an injury from a zombie. The fire officer giving a boost to sprinting from the start helps with this playstyle. I should utilize it more rather than trusting with the level 5 nimble all the time. I just probably need more caution and mastery over combat especially on different sizes of hordes.
Yes! My character died and used your build! Brilliant! I spawned in Riverside so I went the the sports shop and loaded my van with two dozen baseball bats. Thanks.
Thank you so much, I just got this game and its brutal........I was having so much difficulty trying to figure out a character build. I wasnt using negative traits......I'm a complete noob.
This game is tough, even for Veteran players as well. The build in this video should give you a good start to smashing some zombies from the get go, if you need any other help or advice don't be afraid to ask either myself or other members of the community, everyone in the Zomboid community is super helpful!
@@Aidanomic Thank you, I’m sure I’ll have many questions the further I get. I’ll tell you what though, this is the most fun game I’ve played in a while. I don’t know what it is about it, but this game is special.
@@noahschultz753 I totally agree, I've put around 600+ hours into the game now and it's still feeling fresh and fun for me. If you do ever get bored of Vanilla, be sure to check out the Steam Workshop and grab some mods as they can add new clothing, new towns to the map and loads of cool stuff!
I'm honestly not a fan of wakeful when it comes to this Zombie Killing Build, it can easily mess up your sleep schedule. Vitamins usually mean you won't be getting tired until around 10-11pm as well. I'm sure there are some small minor changes that could be made to improve it, but overall its a solid and fun build.
@@Aidanomic Trust me I said the same thing when I started my long term 16x playthrough lmao. I get like 200 kills and it's time for poor old Marrion's bedtime. It has been my worse mistake yet haha.
Wakeful is an S tier trait, considering how cheap it is and how useful it is I was also very surprised to not see organized and fast learner Underweight is also a good choice as you can easily gain enough weight as to become normal weight + you wi be full of food buff because of eating a shit ton
Oh I totally agree with this! Wakeful is a very good trait, I find when I use it though I end up messing my sleeping pattern up sometimes which isn't what you want when you're out to just murder all of the undead. Also agree about Underweight, it's basically free points as well as you just need to eat a few ice creams and you're back to normal weight. This build could be tinkered a little bit with, it's just what I've had the most success with 🙂
@@Aidanomic 3 fitness and 3 strength gives 125% boost to them and taking handy and police officer with very underweight and all the free points and finally lucky, it makes for a pretty good long run character, which has the best xp boosts for the hardest and most important to level up skills.
@@TPguard5 Taking 3 fitness and 3 strength is honestly far too low imho, even with fast learner it takes ages to get the fitness and strength up to level 10 which is one of the longest grinds in the game.
@@Aidanomic I played most of my older long runs starting at 0 fit 0 strength so I'm built different. With the 125% boost I can get 8 fitness 8 strenght during the first winter so it's not a big problem for me. Just burpees+rest+sit on ground spam until agony and then sleep and repeat...
@@TPguard5 Even that yields minimum results, why spend the first year just purely exercising when you can just spawn straight in and annihilate everything in your path and actually make decent progress. 👀
You've left Underweight and Pacifist and did not took Wakeful(singleplayer only)/Organized and Fast Learner What I've learned from this game is that never let your character spawn with less than 5 Strenght/Fitness, ALWAYS PICK: Fast Learner, Dexterous + Boost to either nimble/sprinting/sneaky + Boost to profession such as mechanic sewer etc. Carpentry, Farming, Fishing, Cooking are all easy to grind and Life and Living channel always helps.
I didn't take Underweight as it gives me one less point in Fitness which isn't what we want. This build is to give us max strength and fitness. I don't take pacifist as it makes us less effective with weapons. Wakeful is a weird one, I just find with myself that I end up messing up my sleeping pattern too often with it, it would definetley be a good one to take to grind out those extra zombie kills in a day. I agree with the 5 Strength and Fitness though, anything less than that at the start and it does make the game tougher.
@@Aidanomic Pacifist doesn't make you less effective. It affects the XP gains from weapons. However, if you have a boost from profession/trait such as Baseball player or Axeman you'll be more than fine with those. Furthermore Wakeful is NOT ABOUT SLEEPING. It reduces the amount of "tiredness" you gain. Being sleepy affects heavily your damage(I think it's -30% at the lowest and -50% at max), wakeful helps you get more hours before getting tired and needing sleep. It is an "S tier" trait in Single player for sure. You are right in saying that Underweight eats stamina, but it does not eat strength points. It will only reduce in 1 point the stamina that you get. If you're already above 5 it's fine. Underweight, just like with Carpentry points, can be easily mitigated in the first weeks by overeating.
My apologies, by less effective I meant less XP gains from the specific weapons. I would personally, rather not have to take Axeman or Baseball Player to negative the negative effects of Pacifist tbh. When I mentioned sleeping, I mean that my player gets less tired meaning that they go to bed a lot later than usual, which in turn then causes my SLEEPING PATTERN to alter more than I would like it too. I may also just be used to the 10-11pm until 5.50am Sleeping Pattern that I have worked myself into.
Died on a Burgler build and decided to try this, before lowering the diffulty settings. Man, what a change it is. I can now handle a group of 5 zombies with ease, instead of having to sneak around and kite 1-2 zombies in bigger groups every time. Thanks man!
Good build. I would suggest drop clumsy for short sighted. You can fix it with glasses and even without them it’s no big deal. If you ever had to run one failed fence could make you zombie food (then again, this guy probably does not run away much).
Tbh that is a good shout. Personally, I never find myself running towards fences, a nice leisurely stroll is the way to go haha. Great suggestion though King!
Tried to use this build in mp and decide to throw away smoker, athletic and pick fast learner, bc i was a cook in the group so grinding cooking was my second priority. Really good, threw away smoker because of possibility of my friends using cigarettes as hostage in case of my poor decisions during looting
That's the beautiful thing about PZ. Everyone has there own opinions. At first, I didn't agree with clumsy. For just 2 measly points. But putting more thought into it, I guess you figured if you took Conspicuous, you might as well take clumsy?. But you also took Prone to illness. I feel like you might as well also take outdoorsman. It won't help out much, but for just 2 points your gaining quite a bit. As for negative traits, you might as well also take Short Sighted. Just wear glasses and even then, it honestly doesn't effect much without them. keen hearing? Yes and No. Before you engage, you should always look around. I know I know, it's a great trait. But, unless your playing with sprinters, you could possibly skip that one. Besides, your killing so fast. You can't stop and look around?. Maybe get rid of Keen Hearing, baseball player, and cat's eye and Just grab brawler. You get long blunt, a point in axes, and bonus XP towards Axes for just 2 more points. Wakeful I find is pretty integral and cheap. Fast learner is another good one. Bonus xp across the board except STR and FIT. Taking underweight would remove 1 point in FIT. So you'd have 8 FIT. But for just that 1 point loss in FIT, it opens up other traits to take. I would prob go; Negative traits. Underweight, thin skinned, high thirst, Conspicuous, prone to illness, smoker, weak stomach, clumsy (god I hate this trait for just a 2 point gain), short sided, slow reader. Positive. Dextrous, outdoorsman, wakeful, gymnast, Brawler, fast learn, athletic, strong This leaves you with -2. my build above is a great baseline to adjust to your preference. allot of options to interchange and only sacrificing 1 point in FIT, which you won't even notice the difference. again, you still get that bonus. I would also recommend dropping Clumsy lol Every "build and occupation" has a significant role in PZ. Especially since the game is so jank with animations, which as a result, can effect your gameplay (death). Allot of people use different sandbox settings as well, which can make your occupation and skill set change to the "the best build". As a closing statement, I did read' one of your responses to burglar. Although I will admit for the point cost, doesn't honestly seem like it's worth it. I don't agree with you saying it's for new players to the game. It can significantly boost your early game. Storage for looting/ resources, luring zombies to get that sweet sweet loot, and fast transportation. I never honestly chose burglar, but I still understand it's benefits. I also believe maintenance is a great skill.
That was exactly why I take Clumsy. I just think if I'm taking Conspicuous then I may as well take Clumsy. I take Prone to Illness, because with this build you usually find enough clothes and fight enough that your body temperature is always at a good level. I've survived for over a year with this build and haven't got sick once. I agree with Short Sighted, it'd another skill that is essentially just 2 more free points and is easily counteracted with glasses. Keen Hearing is one I 100% recommend taking always, yes you should look around before fighting and the majority of the time I do, it's handy to have on the occasions you decide not to look around 🤣 Wakeful is a great choice the same as Fast Learner, I didn't realise how crazy levels went up until I took Fast Learner recently 🤣 Like you said, this build is a great baseline for everyone to use and can be chopped and changed depending on your playstyle etc. I'm just not a fan of burgler, the majority only recommend it to new players because you can hotwire from the off, but once you can survive over a week in game you're basically able to hotwire anyway once you've got your electrical and mechanical skills to the right level. Appreciate your thoughts and insights 🙂
If you have any other questions etc, feel free to fire away! What moodles were you thinking of changing and then replacing them with? You'll have to let me know how you get on using the changed build 🙂
@@Aidanomic Occupation: Fire Officer Negative Traits: -Very UnderWeight -Thin Skinned -Slow Reader -High Thirst -Smoker -Prone To Illness -Weak Stomach Positive Traits: -Dextrous -Cat Eyes -Fit -Keen Hearing -Strong -Baseball Player -Wakeful -Gymnast Quite similar just some changes for my play style ig you can say Wish me luck!
Been around, I'm liking burger flipper hunter with low strength and just using short blades. Very tense and hard, but you get better at stealth and instant kills. Have four in short blades now after a handful of hours playing this build.
idk... i think Fast learner and organized are also valuable. and if you are not afraid to loose some time while leveling maintenance you can go for Pacifist. (also i think Hearthy Appetite is quite free...especially combined with underweight start....cuz i feel i have troubles in balancing my weight when i'm on veggie+fish diet in the endgame) Short sighted is also a free pick. does nothing (except foraging debuff and can be countered by glassess). meaning you can upg baseball to brawler for 2pts for extra level in Axe(great with pacifist. not that great otherwise)
Fast learner and organised are both really really good as well! Unfortunately there were only so many traits we could take for this build so some of the other valuables ones had to be put to the side.
@@Aidanomic i usually take handy-organized-fast learner-keen hearing-wakeful(in SP)-lucky(also in sp)-dextrous-cat's eyes-outdoorsman - 38 pts if i want more combat skills: gymnast and brawler or baseball...that's 49 total points as for negatives: thin skinned-high thirst-slow healer-conspicuous-prone to ilness-weak stomach-short sighted-slow reader-smoker(it's a positive trait cuz you can use sigs to cure depression) and finally underweight(you'll still have 9 fit with fireman). this leaves you with -4 points. so for the last ones you choose hearthy appetite or pacifist. and if you really don't like underweight - you drop it and add clumsy for a total of 0 pts PS: but to be fair i prefer 0-0 starts if i expect to suvive for a long time. those 30 points are just too good to ignore.
oh wait...i forgot to add strong and athletic (that's -20 more points). my bad. then drop brawler(while keeping gymnast) and lucky-wakeful (in mp they are useless anyway. and you can live without them in sp). and add something like cowardly for the last 2 points (imho it's not a big deal once you find beta-blockers)
If you're extremely new to the game I would say it's an OK pick, but once you know what you're doing, getting a car and learning to hotwire is incredibly fast and easy to learn.
Ehhh, I love the vid, but I have some disagreements. Not many, though. I would: 1. Take short-sighted and un-take clusmy for an even point trade. Short-sighted is basically free points with eye glasses and nbd even without. I'm not a big fan of any added chance to fall (yes, I know, you can NOT sprint hop fences, but still). 2. Remove Keen hearing. It's nice, but nothing awareness and general player skill cannot easily compensate for. We now have 6 points to play with. 3. Add outdoorsman. The weather resistance and tree slash resistance is very nice for only 2 points. 4 ahead still. 4. Take underweight. Extremely solvable in the early game by shoveling ice cream. The -1 fitness is covered by Fire officer, so that you still have 9 which is the critical milestone. 10's nice, but 9 is perfectly fine. 10 points ahead. 5. Take fast learner. This is an absolute catch-all must-take trait. God-tier in every way and I would never make a build without it. 4 points ahead. 6. Swap out baseball player for brawler. 2 points ahead. Dealer's choice from here: Pick up speed demon or wakeful. I usually slot "Handy" in my builds because of how goated maintenance is, but using what you built as a framework (which I largely like), above is what I'd do.
You could do this same build with unemployed but take out baseball player and add brawler and runner in it's place and the stats will be the exact same, and you have two extra trait points to spend on something. Just a tip so you could add outdoorsman or wakeful to this build as well
This is kind of outdated now given the changes to how core temperature affects your sleepyness and endurance regen. While I've never used this specific build, I've used very similar, and whereas before I would be able to fight ~20 zombies before exhaustion set in, now it's more like 7 or 8. Since this change was implemented, wakeful and outdoorsman are a must. With wakeful you can fight twice as long before the first exhaustion tick, which now comes on probably 3 times faster since any action that involves movement raises your temperature and the range at which a high or low temperature starts draining you of endurance is narrow. And outdoorsman helps keep your core temperature closer to the ideal.
I just had a look through a lot of the recent patch notes and couldn't seen any changes in regards to this. This build can fight quite a few more than 20 zombies before exhaustion sets in. People have mentioned wakeful before but the reason as to why it isn't in this build is because I find that it messes up my routine/sleeping schedule in the game. With this build that is included I usually head to bed around 22:00 and wake up at around 5.50am. Around a month in game time, this build can net around 1000 zombie kills a day with the use of Vitamins.
ran with this build expecting it to be shit but came out with 44 kills in 10 minutes (only using a meat cleaver a club hammer and my bare hands) . good build
Oh Velk my dear friend, this build has seen me get over 50k kills and last for over a year a few times as well. I'm glad you're having success and fun with it!
@@Aidanomic I've also watched retanaru's video and the difference between Inconspicuous and Conspicuous and the difference is so small that its basically free points. I now have even more respect for this build.
Heck yes! I'm glad it's been helping you out! A couple of months down the line with this build, you should be able to get 1000 kills a day with the use of vitamins! 🙂
I think the best build is the one that better adapts to the world you are creating. I. E. A world with extremely rare loot would be really tough for this build. Imagine if you can't find cigarettes or, even worse, no proper container to boil water
A container isn't needed to boil water as you can do the rainbarrel water collecting method that gives you clean water straight away. I feel that even on extremely rare loot people shouldn't have a problem finding cigarettes still they're that common.
I did use a majority of this build, but I got rid of Conspicuous and switched Clumsy with Sentimental (More Traits mod) for the Outdoorsman trait. (I don't remember if I already had the points or if I didn't use a positive trait you added) Suffice it to say, I'm certainly having fun with it!
That's not the builds fault that's down to poor RNG. If you had 50 zombies following you, you needed to slow down and kill the smaller zombies. You must have found a hammer or something to get you started. Sounds like a skill issue 👀🤣
@@Aidanomic Yeah I’m not very good, this was only my third or fourth survivor. And yeah I could only find a hammer. I found a crowbar one time but my guy got sick and my head randomly exploded while running around. I do like the fact that I can run that far though, usually it’s just a speed walking race 😂
@ColeSmilesTTV a hammer will do just as good a job. This games takes 100s of hours to see success and survive for a LONG time. Keep trying and things will click eventually.
Whats your zombie settings? I assume you play on sandbox. I strugle with choice of turn the Heli event off (IT seems like nonsence to me). The zombie respawn off. Then maybe make myself imunne, like Elie from Last of US or other shows where there Is someone imunne. What do you think ?
So on my latest live stream which is from today, I do 2 hour days. 16x Zombies, which is 4x 4x 4x in the advanced Zombie settings box. Zombie respawns turned off. Helicopter coming just the once. How you want to play is totally up too you, as long as you're having fun with it thats all that matters :)
This build really helped me starting out! I just joined a roleplay server that has more traits but I was wondering if you had any suggestions to adapt this to a lumberjack theme?
Clumsy is probably one of the worst thing you could've taken and not taking wakeful is without a doubt a dealbreaker for me. 500+ hours in the game and i can say, without wakeful, you have such a limited amount of hours in game to kill zombies before you need sleep again, definitely a game changer. Other than that, good build overall :D
I'm going to have to disagree on some points here. I myself have around 700+ hours and actually don't mind Clumsy, in fact Clumsy is good for this build as I WANT Zombies to hear me and my footsteps so I can be sure to bonk them. I think after a while you get used to not wanting to running/sprint vaulting over fences. One thing that I should have pointed out with this build is that I usually play on 2 hour days so I don't usually take Wakeful, personally I find Wakeful messes up my routine a little bit on 2 hour days BUT I totally agree, Wakeful is an S tier trait! Without Wakeful I can manage around 1000 Zombie kills a day with the use of Vitamins as well. Thank you for the feedback though spongebob 🙂
Lol I've veen rocking this build. Strong. Athletic fireman organiced fast reader n learner Healthy appetite high thirst thin skin prone to illnesses shortsighted and other butter traits
@iblood1748 you're more than welcome! I also have a sandbox guide for beginners if you're interested as well 🙂 The game is unforgiving and you will die a LOT, this game takes hours and hours to master but is 100% worth it.
How come you didn't add Unlucky to this? I think a lot of people are confused by Unlucky but the trait only effects RARE loot, so Katana's, Machetes, Sledgehammers and certain guns for example. Unlucky DOES not effect more common loot like Cigs or canned food. I personally find Unlucky is a free +4 points especially with just how much loot is in Louisville now.
@@TheCoolCucumber You aren't wrong cucumber, I must have got my mentions and comments mixed up. WOOPS! Time to delete that 🤣 Appreciate you pointing it out!
You have taken a trait that won't allow you to take High Thirst. So some traits will cancel out other traits that you can take. Clear your selection of traits and it'll be there.
why strength and athletics? just to get an early start? does the +4 to strength and athletics still apply after you hit 10 allowing you to reach 14 or does it just cap out at the normal 10 and make no funtional difference end game?
Your Strength and Fitness maxes out at 10, the reason why I took them is because it gives you a VERY good start at the beginning and they are widely considered to be two of the best traits in the game. If you have around 6-7 fitness and strength, it will take you AGES to get to level 10 Strength and Fitness, we are talking MONTHS and MONTHS of surviving. That's why I like having the Max Strength and Fitness from the off. I hope that helps!
@@Aidanomic ty for the information. i just got the game and my first attemp i attempts to min max a build and ended up with 0 str and 0 fitness. while i might be willing to get that to work in single player, i very much doubt it would have worked in multiplayer. i can see the serious appeal to having more str for carry weight.
This build is more than viable in both single player and multiplayer. The only change you really need in a multiplayer run is to get rid of slow reader as you are unable to fast forward time. Strength doesn't just affect carry weight, it also affects how much damage you do as well among other things.
Taking Athletic and strong allow you to do more stuff. Run longer, walk farther, swing faster, run faster, slower endurance drain, faster endurance recovery, decreased chance to trip or fall are all benefits of athletic, and strong lets you carry more stuff, deal more damage with melee weapons, increases your knock back and knockdown, gives you a chance to push a zombie that grabs onto you from the front off so you avoid injury, makes you open windows faster and allows you to successfully bump and run by zombies with less risk of getting tripped or stopped and dragged down. They are easily the best traits in the game. A lot of the best permanent passive buffs are cheap (outdoorsman, wakeful, cat's eyes, dextrous), so if you don't mind taking a bunch of negligible negative traits like Thin-skinned, slow healer, smoker, conspicuous, weak stomach, prone to illness, and short sighted, surviving day one is a lot easier even if you have a terrible spawn like in a house that's for sale
Well, my dear friend, you would be wrong :) This video has seen me now get over 50k kills and a year survived :) A lot of the negative traits I picked in this build are seen as 'Free Points'.
Honestly try out unemployed u get extra 8 points. I like to focus on 1 Weapon typ so for me +1 Axe is a waste since i go long blunt weapon. I dont understand why unemployed is so slept on?
I take Fire Officer mostly for the Strength and Fitness points that it gives you. Unemployed doesn't give you any starter points and on top of that you also don't get any 75% experience points in any skills if you don't take an occupation, I would rather lose the +8 points and get some starting points in other skills along with the 75% experience boost that they give you as well, but once you start sustaining for long periods of time you will naturally level up in other weapon skills and not just the one as well.
@@Aidanomic i am just playing for a couple of days, so i am pretty new, yes. i survives 3 till 6 days in general, before i make a stupid mistake and get grabbed or bitten. i have the aim outline, yes but especially with firearms i suck badly. i have no idea where he is going to aim xD
So to REALLY get good with this game, you are looking at 100+ hours really, and then there will always be more to learn. This build is considered one of the best in the game as it gives you max strength and fitness from the off which are considered two of the best stats in PZ.
This build sucks for beginners! Please don't use it, I can't sneak anywhere without a zombie 50 feet nearby detecting me. I've tried about 6-7 runs with this build, and the exact same thing keeps happening, not for beginners.
@@Aidanomic I think the issue was I might've been on sandbox mode w/o putting zombie amount on low, like normal survival. Just an oversight from a noob, I've been trying this build and it's been working pretty well. Just doesn't work when I have a 50-zombie hoard chasing me, but I don't know if any kind of build can save you from that xD
@@Aidanomic It's not, he's trolling. The only trait I wouldn't recommend newbie from this list is the Clumsy since most won't even know you can vault fences slowly by holding interact button and will most likely jog over them and get an injury, but you at least mentioned it. Still I'd rather give newbie Short Sighted which has next to none negative effects for the same points. I'd only really replace Cat's Eyes with Wakeful and use Flashlights during night, which on vanilla loot should be easy to find before electricity goes out. For veterans it's only missing the rest of the manageable negative traits that vets can handle: Cowardly, Short Sighted, Claustrophobic, Pacifist, Hearty Appetite, Hemophobic (arguable cut if you don't want the Amateur Mechanic, but grinding to lvl 6-7 without it is pain and I like cars a lot so I always take it)

Absolutely a great build, but I would definitely switch out catseyes for wakeful. No need for cateyes if you're getting tired at 6pm 😅

Nope, that would be 2 hour days 🙂
Will try this on my next play through. Thank you

@@Aidanomiche did NOT let you know
Wakeful is an S tier trait, considering how cheap it is and how useful it is
I was also very surprised to not see organized and fast learner
Underweight is also a good choice as you can easily gain enough weight as to become normal weight + you wi be full of food buff because of eating a shit ton
You've left Underweight and Pacifist and did not took Wakeful(singleplayer only)/Organized and Fast Learner
What I've learned from this game is that never let your character spawn with less than 5 Strenght/Fitness, ALWAYS PICK: Fast Learner, Dexterous + Boost to either nimble/sprinting/sneaky + Boost to profession such as mechanic sewer etc.
I am REALLY glad to hear it helped out! I hope the run has been going well!
I would prob go;
Negative traits. Underweight, thin skinned, high thirst, Conspicuous, prone to illness, smoker, weak stomach, clumsy (god I hate this trait for just a 2 point gain), short sided, slow reader.
Positive. Dextrous, outdoorsman, wakeful, gymnast, Brawler, fast learn, athletic, strong
This leaves you with -2. my build above is a great baseline to adjust to your preference. allot of options to interchange and only sacrificing 1 point in FIT, which you won't even notice the difference. again, you still get that bonus. I would also recommend dropping Clumsy lol
Every "build and occupation" has a significant role in PZ.
Keen Hearing is one I 100% recommend taking always, yes you should look around before fighting and the majority of the time I do, it's handy to have on the occasions you decide not to look around 🤣
Wakeful is a great choice the same as Fast Learner, I didn't realise how crazy levels went up until I took Fast Learner recently 🤣
Like you said, this build is a great baseline for everyone to use and can be chopped and changed depending on your playstyle etc.
I'm just not a fan of burgler, the majority only recommend it to new players because you can hotwire from the off, but once you can survive over a week in game you're basically able to hotwire anyway once you've got your electrical and mechanical skills to the right level.
Appreciate your thoughts and insights 🙂

Short Blades is super fun to use! I never used to like the hunting knife etc, but they've really started to grow on me
@@Aidanomic same
Feels very satisfying pulling it off. Only been near eaten thrice.

@@Aidanomic prob not, but if I die it will be with my chicken apron on.
idk... i think Fast learner and organized are also valuable.
and if you are not afraid to loose some time while leveling maintenance you can go for Pacifist. (also i think Hearthy Appetite is quite free...especially combined with underweight start....cuz i feel i have troubles in balancing my weight when i'm on veggie+fish diet in the endgame)
Short sighted is also a free pick. does nothing (except foraging debuff and can be countered by glassess). meaning you can upg baseball to brawler for 2pts for extra level in Axe(great with pacifist. not that great otherwise)
Fast learner and organised are both really really good as well! Unfortunately there were only so many traits we could take for this build so some of the other valuables ones had to be put to the side.
@@Aidanomic i usually take
handy-organized-fast learner-keen hearing-wakeful(in SP)-lucky(also in sp)-dextrous-cat's eyes-outdoorsman - 38 pts
if i want more combat skills: gymnast and brawler or baseball...that's 49 total points
as for negatives:
thin skinned-high thirst-slow healer-conspicuous-prone to ilness-weak stomach-short sighted-slow reader-smoker(it's a positive trait cuz you can use sigs to cure depression) and finally underweight(you'll still have 9 fit with fireman). this leaves you with -4 points.
so for the last ones you choose hearthy appetite or pacifist. and if you really don't like underweight - you drop it and add clumsy for a total of 0 pts
PS: but to be fair i prefer 0-0 starts if i expect to suvive for a long time. those 30 points are just too good to ignore.
That's a pretty good build there!
oh wait...i forgot to add strong and athletic (that's -20 more points). my bad.
then drop brawler(while keeping gymnast) and lucky-wakeful (in mp they are useless anyway. and you can live without them in sp). and add something like cowardly for the last 2 points (imho it's not a big deal once you find beta-blockers)
@@koxacbka That's still a pretty decent build!
I have the same build for my casual zombie slaughtering fun, fancy that
It's such a great build right?
Basically my head empty, no thoughts build, I dont really focus on surviving as much as cracking heads
Its seems like Burglar is a must, the early advantage from having a vehicle is just too good to pass up, no?
If you're extremely new to the game I would say it's an OK pick, but once you know what you're doing, getting a car and learning to hotwire is incredibly fast and easy to learn.
Ehhh, I love the vid, but I have some disagreements. Not many, though. I would:
Project zomboid is one of the few games that you could have over a thousand hours in and still die on day 1 if your not careful
The true beauty of the game 😍
You could do this same build with unemployed but take out baseball player and add brawler and runner in it's place and the stats will be the exact same, and you have two extra trait points to spend on something. Just a tip so you could add outdoorsman or wakeful to this build as well
doesnt give you the +1 fitness or stregnth
@@iannorrison8711 Ah yeah you right
Wakeful is definetley something that I would add to this build, it just means taking another negative trait to compensate.
I'm somewhat of a completionist, raided about 247 toilets for water
Toilet water is what makes the world go round 🤣🤣
When was this update to core temperature brought out? Could you give me a patch number or update so I can look it up?
I just had a look through a lot of the recent patch notes and couldn't seen any changes in regards to this. This build can fight quite a few more than 20 zombies before exhaustion sets in.
People have mentioned wakeful before but the reason as to why it isn't in this build is because I find that it messes up my routine/sleeping schedule in the game. With this build that is included I usually head to bed around 22:00 and wake up at around 5.50am.
Around a month in game time, this build can net around 1000 zombie kills a day with the use of Vitamins.
good traits I also go for underweight, you can eliminate this trait in a few days eating a ton of food, and it gives you 6 points
willl def try this

Heck yes! I'm glad it's been helping you out!
A couple of months down the line with this build, you should be able to get 1000 kills a day with the use of vitamins! 🙂
Very underweight is in my opinion pretty good because you just need to eat a lot and supposedly the effects are negated
I always use mechanic, and then concentrate on electric for hot wiring.
The more experienced you get with the game, you will find ways to speed up the grind.
This build is so good! Especially good if you want to just walk around slaughtering zombies.
Still having fun with it?

The entire time I tried this I couldn't find an axe or long blunt weapon anywhere, and had like 50+ zombies chasing me the whole time. Kind of sucked
That's not the builds fault that's down to poor RNG.
If you had 50 zombies following you, you needed to slow down and kill the smaller zombies.
You must have found a hammer or something to get you started.
Sounds like a skill issue 👀🤣

You have taken a trait that won't allow you to take High Thirst. So some traits will cancel out other traits that you can take. Clear your selection of traits and it'll be there.
Do you sp beta blockers during combat or is it not necessary with those stats?
I would keep some beta blockers on you, you will eventually get less panicked as time goes on. I hope you enjoy the build 🙂
why strength and athletics? just to get an early start? does the +4 to strength and athletics still apply after you hit 10 allowing you to reach 14 or does it just cap out at the normal 10 and make no funtional difference end game?
Feels like video of traits not to pick
Well, my dear friend, you would be wrong :)

I take veteran and no zombies, wake up day 2 to panic and anxiety.
The longer you survive in game, the less panicked your character will become 🙂
