- Time for the Q&A Fellas. Got a lot of questions, and in typical Zucco fashion, I rambled on so much that this will now be a two part series. That'll be linked in the description once its done, but for now enjoy part 1, where I go over various questions about collecting anime figures, favorite video games, and how I became an anime figure collector.

Thanks for the community post feedback. Splitting this into two parts was a good idea. The second part will be out soon, but I might squeeze in the preorder roundup in between these two videos. Up in the air right now. Also does a video like this need timestamps? Someone should be a pal and help me out with that lol, but if there's requests for it I can try and add them later.
Also man the quality of this mic is so much better than my last two videos that used the wireless one. It's a struggle to film videos with alot of movement with this mic, but it's kinda worth it to me. There's probably a way to get those wireless mics sounding better though, so we'll just have to do more research on that.
2:21 Agreed. I love the Amazon from Dragon's Crown but that sculpt is just crazy. Are we ever going to see the finished proto from Orca Toys finally go up for pre-order? She looks sooooo good!

@@charlestonjew7587 the MXL 990 sounds so good but I gotta be literally on top of it which makes its uses limited. That or structure my videos around it. The other mics almost make me feel like I wasted my money, but until I find a solution for my unboxing videos I'll have to make due
My first journey as a figure collector started with a local expensive figure with a huge mark-up price. Like almost double the price. I’m glad that I bought it, it started my journey into buying stuff from AmiAmi etc. it’s an expensive hobby for sure. But it manifests your passions and hobbies into real life if that makes sense. Like your favorite character is manifested physically instead of just being behind the screen/page.
Yeah I paid double the price too, but looking back I'm glad I did. At least I eventually learned where to properly buy figures from lol

Nice hearing more about you and giving shout outs to others. Looking forward to part 2. I've gotten into collecting acrylic stands over the last year, nice having illustrations or characters you wont have otherwise or in different outfits (I do collect manga so having variety is great). I don't collect many nendo's but I kinda prefer the stands for a chibi versions especially and not messing around with parts. Can really add a nice touch to setups.
Getting into GKs opened up my eyes to many things (and also a lighter wallet). I need to limit myself for GKs before I run completely out of room. The urge to buy is too great sometimes!
The plan was to paint more gunpla and then when I was feeling confident I'd try out some GKs. Hopefully I get around to that someday

Bums me out that only Bandai makes figures for Ranma. I think its the same thing for Sailor Moon? I don't really understand the licensing for these series but it sure feels like they are stuck at one company.

I have fallen down the rabbit hole on MFC of just ridiculous 18+ figures before and some of them are just absolutely wild.
That Gwendolyn is really pretty! Maybe she will rerelease or the fire emblem one will!
One I regreted not getting was the Sakura card artfx figure but now she is on the way with the release and I can't wait to get her!
I would have shown some examples but way too risky on RUclips especially in the beginning of the video lol.
I hope so. Alter feels very random with rereleases, same with Max Factory. I'm sure they know their figures are in demand at least.
One day I'll get to show off some Cardcaptor Sakura since my girlfriend is a big fan(I enjoyed the show too but she's more passionate about it). Has a decent amount of the figures too, though I forget if she has that specific one lol
As a One Piece collector, I agree. Lol good thing about One Piece is there's a go-to line which is Portrait of Pirates by Megahouse
I'm getting into acrylics too. I always thought how useless they were seeing all the photos with just a mesh of colors... and then I received one. The next thing I knew, I was hooked 😅

Hibiki (Symphogear) made by Hobby Stock / Wing is such a great scarf figure.
Still need to watch Symphogear. One of my good friend swears by it
That GBA collection is amazing dude! Didn't realize there were games behind it, but go figure. A lot of great games up there!
Can't wait to have em all properly displayed. That shelf is just storage for the most part with the way they are packed in lol
I recently bought 2 of those new Ikea shelves (Blaliden) and I can easily recommend them for Pop up parades and Nendoroids. I think they look much better than Detolfs. Yes they're a little smaller but they look more premium and they're suppose to be more sturdier so glass is less likely to break.
The 1/10000 chance of a detolf exploding has always made me weary about getting more of them, but yeah when I move I'll look into the blaliden
I have some too, but I heard someone say they’re less sturdy in a review video on them.
@@ZuccoFigures They're also better if you want to add custom LED strips with channels because you can mask cables pretty nicely. With Detolfs you can't because it's made out of glass on every edge. I installed those LEDs in my Blalidens and they look awesome. Too bad I can't add picture here, I'd have shown you.

It has been intriguing and very interesting to hear what got you here and your gaming past and present. I feel like that by itself was probably (how I think) giving you a lot of depth and knowledge in your videos when talking about figures. Definitely show us your retro gaming collection when you can please... And looking forward to part 2.
I'll make a game collection video as soon as I can, but like alot of my collection its still in boxes. The struggle is real since I don't even know where I could display them atm. It's on my mind though for sure

Megaman Zero 2 is my favorite of the Zero games.
I asked for questions in one of my videos, though I don't remember which. Might have been the September roundup. We'll do another I'm sure. Also Zero 2 is excellent. for me it goes 3 >2 > 4 > 1 for the Zero games.

Detolfs always seemed like they were too good to be true back in the day at the original price, but lowering the quality and raising the price at the same time is nutty. I think they just wanted to kill the product and move on to a new one for whatever reason

Thanks. I don't expect most people to collect the same type of figures I do since I'm not super into the mainstream shows(at least when it comes to figures) or Gacha games, but I appreciate that people are still willing to check out the videos

I feel similarly about the space in my own apartment. A big reason i would like a house is so i could have a room dedicated to figures and other collectibles! Thats also why i want a bigger income 😅

Nothing more fun than traveling hours through Kansas during a thunderstorm lol. But yeah man, even if I don't move to a house I just want a separate room for my collectables. Making videos in my bedroom is very limiting as well.
Congratz on the 10k man! I love the origin story, it reminded me of of the one time when I used Greyhound as a service too. I had the simliar experience you did; tried to save some money for the destination I was going to, didnt sleep well on my two day-one night ride, ate cheap food. Overall it cemented to me that it was better to just pay a little extra for a plane ticket instead haha!
When you pulled out Megaman Zero 3 as one of your top GBA games, I was happy as a cyber-elf being fed tons of e-crystals; the Zero series is my most favorite of the franchise even though most of us started with the classic or X series. I love everything about the Zero series; the art style, the music, the continuation of the story, the gameplay. Perfect.
Greyhounds really build character I suppose lol. Zero is my favorite too. It's just the most consistently great series in the Mega Man franchise(Even though MMZ1 is a little rough)
@@ZuccoFigures Aye, MMZ1 was rough BUT you can see the improvements they did to each sequel installments. Despite MMZ4 was a bit of disappointment by general consensus, I still liked how they closed out a tetralogy

Buying, selling, then rebuying is one of my worst habits... I think half my collecting time goes to trying to rebuy stuff after I've sold it. Part of it is definitely OCD symptoms, but I'm starting to be more careful about those kinds of things... as I try to rebuy an entire collection of Gundam Fix Metal Composites I sold earlier this year. Anyway, thanks for the entertaining and insightful video!
I've done that with games more than figures, but yeah I try to avoid it. If that Tharja ever popped up for a good deal though I think I'll grab it

Your Game Boy collection is nice. I personally really enjoyed Wario Land 4 and the Zero series. I hope sometime in the future that I can compete in EVO for the experience. Yeah they really did the Amazon dirty compared too the Sorceress.
One day I'll make a dedicated video to my games. There's quite alot to go through tho lol. And Yeah you gotta check out Evo. Apparently this years was really good for people in attendance.
RIP for selling that Tharja figure! I was lucky enough to find one of my own but I did pay her aftermarket price. She was my first (huge) figure purchase and I'm still looking for the Cordelia and Camilla figures to go with her!
Tharja's aftermarket seems almost reasonable compared to Cordelia and Camilla. I remember when Cordelia was really easy to find too. Hope I don't want that one some day lol. Good luck on the hunt

Then I saw Tharja figure on Amazon and got my jaw all the way down to the floor.
Then my first figure was a Hestia, it wasn't new, not even with box, dirty, and one apple was missing.
It costed me 100$ HAHAHAHA
As you said, ignorance is bliss T.T
But still love that figure a lot, since it was my first one ❤ (and I still have it in front of my TV)

This video in particular looks way nicer than all my others lol. I bought a new lens awhile ago but I think its all about lighting which is such a pain to figure out(and set up every time)
I only started figure collecting this year, and decided to start out with some basic prize figures on my trip to Japan. My first was the 2021 Sakura Miku figure which was like 2k yen, it has a little paint scuffs on the back of her hair but I do still enjoy it. From then on I’ve gotten a few more, a hololive pop up parade, the Luminasta Power figure which imo is pretty dang good quality for a prize figure, and the Hatsune Miku mermaid figure. Anyway, this is to say that even if you’re on a budget, you can still enjoy the hobby if you keep an eye out for deals and start small. Thanks for getting me into this silly hobby, Zucco.
I should really make more videos on cheaper figures. I started to talk about pop up parades in my preorder roundups but its actually impossible to cover all the prize figures that come out lol. Regardless, it's a side of the hobby that shouldn't be ignored

nah man, It makes me so happy Zucco FGC like that. I went to Evo the first time this august, and honestly it changed my life. I also went by car, shit took 24 hours XD.
24 sounds lovely compared to my trip lol but no matter the distance it's always worth it. Need to go back soon, though I'm definitely more of a spectator these days
Considering Camilla from Fates was my first figure and I didn't even know about Tharja and Cordelia's figures at the time, I'm just waiting for a day when I can justify buying them even though they were some of my favorites from Awakening

Yea I rarely ever buy a character I don’t know, I think there’s been 2, first was Nemesis from To Love-Ru, I seen the Union Creative Darkness figure and instantly preordered it. So after seeing the figure I bought all the manga.
Then the second is that Aqua Bombergirl from AmiAmi/Amikuni, the figure is amazing, I still haven’t looked into the character because I think she’s from a game or something.

What’s the most expensive aftermarket price you’ve seen on a figure? The most I’ve seen is the Akeno 1/4 bunny, I seen it on AmiAmi preowned for ¥120k, it was there for a little over 12hrs I think and someone bought it. The Rias is ¥57k, so double the price of hers. But I’m new to checking preowned prices so there’s probably much more outrageous price increases.
It's hard to remember everything and I think I mention this in part 2 but the lord of Cinder figure from Dark Souls 3 is consistently 2000-2500 usd so whatever that equates to in yen
lmaoo, my first figure was also on amazon. i was looking around for what to buy for free shipping, and came across a madoka magica figure for $20. actual life changer.

It would be kinda hard to list em all, but alot of Cardcaptor sakura, Male characters from a bunch of shows she grew up with(YYH, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop), Danganronpa and a ton of nendoroids. One day you'll see em but for now I just unbox some of her figure purchases on the channel. Next haul should have a few

Nice GBA collection. Its not a system I personally collect for, my wallet is already suffering from how high Sega Saturn games have become. However, I do have a handful of loose carts games from my childhood I still kept. I became a Metroid fan recently after emulating and beating Fusion, Super and Zero Mission.
All are very good. I have a soft spot in my heart for Battle Network I always liked that series I have nostalgia for it. Super Metroid especially is like, just I don't know how that game feels so good to play despite it being a SNES game. Those SNES games, a lot of them simply do not age.
I only own loose carts for 3 and 6, I think? But obviously as with the Zero games you can just buy the collection now which way easier. I did beat Zero 1-4, hard as fuck games. I have not played Advanced, but I did play Legacy of Goku II and Buu's fury which I have a lot of nostalgia for. Pokemon Emerald is another, I still love that game. I think Pokemon in my opinion anyhow, peaked with the DS era.
And of course, Castlevania. I own the physical GBA Advance collection on Switch via LRG and then I played Symphony last year or so. I have the original on PS1, which I played through around the same time as Super Metroid. Same thing as Super Metroid , SOTN is really quite good. Then for Halloween last year I played through all of the GBA Castlevania games. Harmony is definitely the weakest, but Circle wasn't half bad and Aria is the fan favorite.
I have to get to the DS titles next, but I only own Dawn of Sorrow.
GBA is a pain in the ass to collect for these days. If I wasn't buying them back in like 2016-2018 I wouldnt have half of these.
I grew up with the first two Legacy of Goku games but those are games I also lost as a dumb kid and never got around to buying them again. Never tried Buu's Fury either, so I should get around to that.
Honestly Circle of the Moon is pretty good. I just wish running wasn't so annoying in that game with the double tap. Hurts my thumbs after awhile lol. Harmony is a weird one. Glad I played it but I have no desire to go back to it. Can't go wrong with any of the DS titles though. Dawn of Sorrow is so good and Ecclesia is another one of my favorites
@@ZuccoFigures I remember with Circle of the moon the worse bit being the fact that everything was droppable since that game has no shops so you would farm the same enemy a ton for specific items or what not often with very low drop rates.
The advanced collection has some quality of life things, but I could not imagine doing that on original hardware.
If only Konami did a Silent Hill collection so I could play those. Oh wait, they did. And they were not too great. .

It's a solid enough figure and I'm glad its affordable by Megahouse standards but personally I would want something a bit goofier, or maybe just Luffy laughing with his hand over his face, that's an iconic look imo
I remember when I first found out how much a figure usually cost, I was like "nah, it's too expensive." Then 3 months later, I bought a 1/7scale JAlter by ALTER. Yeah I'm happy..

The domino effect of one thing in your life changing everything else along the way is always fun to think about. There are many things in my life that would actually be totally different if I wasn't going to tournaments at that time

I coulda sworn hololive's shop had international shipping, but during the preorder window I actually ordered it from CDJapan since they do alot of proxy items. It sucks how hard these plush become to find on the aftermarket though. Kinda regretting not picking up the hairball Korone plush

Loved the EVO story haha. I found out about you when Smash 4 came out, I couldn't find a Mega Man player that was playing the character the way I thought was "right" until I saw you!
@@aigisshiro2186 It makes me happy that the short amount of time I played Smash 4 competitively left a big impact. It was definitely a goal of mine to just try and make megaman look good back then since nobody wanted to bother learning him

Well I buy those just because I love the xenoblade series, but there's inevitably going to be space on shelfs that are too small for figures but an acrylic stand will fit fine
