@@unikaran you're unnecessarily complicating the solution and part part is incorrect as well. Here it is : LCM (20,30) = 60 units. Efficiency of A = 3 units/hr and B = (-2) units/hr. Now since both fill and drain pipes work simultaneously. Thus, efficiency of 1 total pipe(fill+drain) = (3-2) =1 unit/hr. Therefore, 1 pipe In 5 hrs will do 5 units work. Since Work reqd is 60 units. Hence, no. of pipes = 60/5 =12. Easy
What if we calculate the last question as--- A+B= 30 days B+C=18 days C+A= 45/2 days So let A= 30-B / C= 18-B And then putting above value of A & C on C+A = 45/2 days to calculate value of B . And then A & C. Why we get very diff answer through this? Please clear this doubt.
sir, in the last sum, is it possible that to remove the fraction from the lcm we multiply the nos with 2 i.e 30*2 , 18*2 , 45/2 * 2 , then have our lcm which will be 180 nd solve?but the answers of a+B+c=30 days, and c alone comes to be 60 days, rest answers remains same as yours.... ps reply it will be helpful to improvise my concept! thank you

sir in the first question why is this logic wrong.. total work = 120 A 's efficiency = 6 , B'S= 5 & C's = 3 6 days they worked together , total work done = (6+5+3) 6 = 84 now work left = (120- 84) = 36 now B&C would have finished this work in = 36 / 8 = 4.5 days now B left 4 days before , which implies they worked for 0.5 days together now work done by B&C in 0.5 days = 0.5* 8 =4 work left = 36-4 = 32 now C alone has to finish the work in 32/3 = 10.6 days
Bro question main given hai ki "B left 4 days before the completion of work" jiska mtlab ye baat pakki hai ki "last 4 days C ne akele kaam kia hai".... Jo approach apne likha hai...usme C is working alone for last 10.6 days....so this is going inconsistent with what is true according to question. Yaha pe aap pakad sakte ho ki something is wrong with your approach. " Kaan ko aage se bhi pakad sakte hai ya peeche se bhi, but humko wese hi pakadna hai jese question pakad ra hai" ...just sayingg..hope this helps!
