Nice review. I recently got the Tudor BB GMT and have enjoyed it so far. I find the lugs have a nice taper that help it to hug the wrist while I wear it. I personally don't quite understand the wrist size obsession that people have, albeit not unlike a different measurement that some guys will also obsess over haha. If one can appreciate the watch and enjoy the feel on their wrist, I don't see an issue with wrist size. My wrist is a touch under 6.5 inch but I have enjoyed every bit of wearing this watch. Realistically for anybody that isn't close friends with an AD or doesn't want to pay more than double MSRP on a used Rolex GMT, I think the Tudor BB GMT is a classy, quality, and importantly obtainable take on the luxury GMT watch.
Recently bought the BB GMT as well but I was concerned about the thickness of the watch since I also have 6.5 inch wrists lol however, after wearing it for a week I fell more and more in love with the watch. I initially had huge buyers remorse and thought I should've gone for the BB58 but I wouldn't swap this watch with the BB58 for the world, I fell in love with this watch very very quickly.
Always looking forward to your videos Max. Tudor BB GMT is my next watch, cannot wait to get it. I already have a Tudor BB Black 41mm, but I do have 7.5in wrist, so for me it’s a perfect size. And like you said, a watch is to be worn and not locked in a drawer.
The Tudor fits me well because I have an 8.25" wrist. It looks right at home and feels great to me. I've received quite a few compliments on this watch because it does look great and subdued, what Rolex used to be. It reminds my friends of their father's or grandfather's old Sub. I do wish the case were not as tall, but even at a height of 15 mm, it still works (for me). I also wish the bracelet had more adjustment options. But now, you've got me thinking of the old GMTs. But, ever since I got my 214270 Mk II, my Tudor has not gotten much wrist time. Also, your shots of the Mendocino coast is making me homesick. Good times! Thanks for a great review.
Loving my Tudor GMT since it came out. Was lucky to get it right away. Still loving it. But I understand it doesn’t feel that great if your wrists are on the smaller side.
Great video bro! For me it was the opposite. The Tudor gmt just made me forget of ever wanting a Rolex gmt to be honest. But I agree now owning a 58... The gmt in the 58 case would be killer!!!! And I hope that comes to fruition 🙏🙏🙏
Me too, it's an awesome watch. It's funny because when people talks about the Omega Planet Ocean, nobody complains about the thickness or diameter and is bigger than the Tudor and instead with the Tudor GMT it is a problem. The Omega measurements are 43mm diameter and 17 mm. thick, but nothing happens,it's perfect...
Great content and videography! I have a 6.5 inch wrist and didn’t think I could wear this watch. But, I have a flat wrist and it has worked great for me; I purchased it on the bracelet. I was able to source an OEM leather strap and I can tell you that it feels even better and looks amazing. I own the the BRLO and the Tudor GMT and love them for different reasons: modern vs vintage.
I only first saw the Tudor in the flesh this past weekend in Vegas (albeit not on the bracelet). I would like to try one on, but the sizing of the 41mm Black Bay and GMT model seemed more appropriate for my 7.25" wrist/height, even if the lower height of the BB58 models (which were there on bracelet) would be nice. I really like the Tudor, as I appreciate the aluminum bezel look more than the ceramic look of the Modern Rolex GMT. I'm definitely not wanting to spend the money required for a vintage Rolex GMT. I will really need to try the Tudor on before committing though.
If you are not born in that old Rolex era but love the look and design of it, and dont want to buy secondhand watches, Tudor GMT is the only choice! Vintage look outside modern tech inside!!
I own 1 Rolex GMT Master , a 1968 ref.#1675 " long E" (MK1) with the cal 1575. I also own a Rolex GMT Master ii Batman. I ended up with a Tudor BB GMT as well and end up wearing it way more than my other 2 . I have a 7.75" wrists so the case size is just fine for me . Also , I live in the Seattle area , too . First time watching your channel and it's great to know that someone local is behind it . I'm subscribing. Thanx for the video !!!
Very professional review, the host might look like a swotty university student on caffeine pills the night before his finals, but he delivers a very smooth and confident review with excellent detail, knowledge and historical facts. 🏆
I got my Tudor GMT with the leather bracelet, feels great wear it all the time . For the price is great but don’t get me wrong $4500 is not lunch money .
The GMT Tudor is an outstanding watch for sure. It's comical how these reviewers always call $4,500 - $5,000 watches great values for the money. Where I come from, $5k is still half a day's pay and is a lot of money. That being written, the Tudor GMT is arguably one of the best all around luxury watches on the market. Very sharp and very functional. Love the Tudor brand.
No you don’t. A smaller, flatter wrist will work very well. I have a 7.25” very flat wrist and the BBGMT looks small on me. The shape of the wrist is far more important than the diameter for how the case will seat.
Just picked up my grail 16710 Pepsi from 2002 last Thursday & it was well worth the wait. You should absolutely get one if the opportunity presents itself. Now I don't know what to do with my other pieces, probably just sell em. Great video, keep em coming!
Good analysis and I guess I'm lucky I'm the same height as Jason Mamoa as I just bought the Tudor GMT with Opaline dial as a follow-up to my beloved Pelagos that's been on my wrist 95% of the last 5 years. I feel the heft of the GMT a bit more, but the thickness is about the same and 41mm face is still about the right size for my beefy prescence in the world since I've 60 pounds on even Jason. I bought it after falling in love with the Hodinkee article on the Rolex GMT Albino Reference 6542...supposedly for Pan Am. clearly Tudor's version is an homage to it...other than maybe the jubilee bracelet an cyclops. And the Tudor's use of off-white indices and hands subtley contrast with the opaline modern sheen of the dial that looks different depending on the light and surroundings. Heck, I even use the GMT function as I'm now a student pilot and zulu time is actually a thing! I do miss my spring-loaded Pelagos clasp system and wish it was on this watch and find myself catching the shinier stainless of the GMT versus titanium of the Pelagos. And also I miss the brighter lume and the ceramic bezel as well, but I'm looking forward to the aging of the aluminum bezel over time and wear. Tudor has hit two homeruns for me. They're Rolex quality adjacent at the very least, but being 1/4 the price doesn't make me nervous about wearing them outside like I would if I had splurged on the 5 pointed crown. Plus I gotta be honest the snowflake hands are more readable than Rolex.
Just picked up mine after have sold my 2 days old BBB58. I have a 7” wrist and it fits perfectly to me. It is 1 mm thinner than the BB 41 mm and the case is slightly redesigned. I love the way it looks on my wrist. I really like the 58 though, but the feeling was not ok. It was not “love”. This is the only reason why I swapped it for the GMT.
Great review. My daily wear is a Rolex GMT II Fat Lady. Although love it - sometimes want to wear something a bit more robust - thus purchase the Tudor Pepsi last week - love the Tudor and the weight is ok with me - definitely not a comparison and buy Rolex if have the coin - if not, Tudor Pepsi is a perfect option. Love them both
I love my Tudor GMT, not to say the Rolex isn't amazing. but I'll never be able to achieve it responsibly. I will just admire from afar. and enjoy my TGMT I'm also thankful I'm a thick jointed individual hahah
@ 4:22, the shot looks like you were staying at the Stephanie Inn, on the Oregon coast? Lol Nice review btw! I own a Tudor BB GMT and LOVE IT!!! Yeah I’d still love to have a Rolex GMT (not II) at some point…
I had my heart set on a 16713 two tone as a birthday present to myself; but I decided to redo the house a bit, so the watch will have to wait. Also, that drone intro is fire! hahah!
Great video homie. I was lying to myself thinking the Tudor gmt wouldn't be too big for my small wrist and now I'm certain. Gonna either get a bb58 or wait for hopefully Tudor to slim down the case width
I love my BB GMT. It's not for everyone (depends of your wrist size) but for me is a perfect size. I own as well the Tudor Black Bay Black (41mm) for the same reason. 39mm is too small for my wrist. By the way, I'm delighted with both Tudor's in every single way. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Bought a brand new yellow gold bi-metal GMT Master 2 about 17 years ago from Rolex AD. Only cost I think £3300. Wear every day for about 10 years, Dropped on tile floor broke the glass. Sold it for £1000. This is before the hype. Wish i kept it.😂😂😂
Just tried on the Tudor GMT last night. I can pull it off with a 7.25” wrist, but there’s no kidding yourself that it’s petite. It’s a husky watch. I’m spending some time deciding how long I’m willing to wait for a theoretical ’58 version to come to pass. On one hand, I think a little more time is going to give Tudor a black eye as the bronze and silver cases models of late are appearing to not “patina” in a good way. That may force them to do something to the GMT sooner. On the other hand, when you consider how close being a Rolex-killer a ‘58 GMT could be, you have to wonder what Tudor will do to it so people don’t switch teams. I think the key to the current GMT is to wear it with long sleeves. Sweaters, flannels, jackets. If your wrist is at or under 7” and you wear it with a short sleeve, it looks like you’re in an old sci-fi film.
I'd wear the hell out of my vintage Rolex Pepsi GMT and send it in to Rolex every 5 years for servicing. As you mentioned the BB GMT is top heavy and bulky.
The tudor is the only watch where an hommage watch is better than the original piece. The san martin sn109 is 2mm thinner, 140g (40g lighter) and has a an movement that isn’t plagued by issues like the tudor.
Can't believe I missed this video, I'm blaming my sick spaniel and having to sleep on the sofa for a week. He's ok now and i think I'm keeping up the tradition of commenting on all your videos ⌚
Nice video, good comparing the Tudor GMT with the 5 digit Rolex GMT as you say the Tudor has definitely taken design ques from the 5 digit aluminium Rolex Gmt. Since you had the 2 watches at the same time I think it was a bit of a missed opportunity to have some side by side visual comparisons. Would have been grate to compare the bezels , the lug size and the thickness visually side by side. If you do get another opportunity perhaps you can rectify that in a new video? Just subscribed BTW looking forward to more videos in future
Have you considered a Sinn 856 S UTC? It’s a fantastic alternative travel watch if you want something with robustness and the ability to fly under the radar. It wears really well as I have 6.25in wrist. It’s reasonably priced too.
Never knew that issue with sizing the Rolex bracelet. Has that been corrected? If not, I guess I shouldn’t care I’m not getting called from my AD. And the fading is interesting. If it’s uniform it’s probably not that bad; but if it’s variable that would look terrible. Got the BB Pro. Thickness doesn’t bother me at all, even on the strap.
I feel like you’ve stated it in other videos, but what is your wrist circumference? Based on other watches I have, I feel like I’m right on the cusp of the Tudor Black Bay GMT being being but wearable vs. too big to wear at 6.5” pretty flat wrist.
It’s a beautiful watch for sure. But I’ll take a 3 hand watch over a GMT. It’s an antiquated function IMO. I can track any time zone with my dive watch or my phone. GMT has has become hype. I’m more interested in waterproof and durability. My PO2500 does that job with ease. Great video brother. Nice content.
I ended up selling my Tudor GMT for the same reasons - really thick case and top heavy. I did get lucky on getting a new GMT BLNR on oyster in retail price a month ago so the money from the Tudor sale went to something better. I do think about of getting the Rolex Pepsi on jubilee next though… Finally same sentiments for the Tudor GMT and the recently released Tudor Chronographs. They all look great on photos, but they have thick slabs.
Just tried on the wrist super case and maxi case, I was thinking my Grail is gmt master II but is not😅 my friend really and absolutely gorgeous is 126710 I still loved two sticks but I so excited about modern Pepsi even better than Batman for me finally 😅 but is too expensive for me so I waiting new releases from Tudor and hope this year we will see bb58 gmt and I believe it’s can be Coke or Batman style aluminum bezel. So I forget about Rolex just waiting for Tudor 😅🙏
Please help and put both the Tudor GMT next to a Rolex GMT, both watches shown from the side, so we can see the difference in their thickness. Most Tudor GMT owners complain is that it is too thick. The Rolex GMT is 12mm thick, while the Tudor GMT is 14.6mm. So the Tudor GMT is 2.6mm thicker than a Rolex GMT. I am surprised that till now I have not seen the thickness comparison by anyone who has compared these two GMT watches. Thanks.
I agree 100%. I own a Black Bay GMT and a GMT Master II Coke 16710. The Coke is by far my favorite watch in my collection. The Tudor is too chunky. Not elegant. The Coke I barely realize I'm wearing it.
@@WatchCrunchOfficial : I love the build quality of the Cerachrome Rolexes, but these slightly older references have more character to me. Tudor is killing it in their price range, but Rolex is infinitely clever for allowing Tudor to shine while maintaining the premium value of the flagship brand. For me Hans Wilsdorf was a business genius on the level of Steve Jobs.
Strongly recommend putting the Lorier Hyperion into this equation. It has the vintage vibes, vintage sizing, and vintage look all in one for a hell of a lot less than either of these options.
Wife and I are going to be in the NO Cal area in a couple of months. Where specifically were you? Looks pretty amazing. Though we’ll be in Carmel/Monterey, so that’s kind of hard to beat as well.
Smaller wristed Asian guy here, get a flat head screw driver and flip that clasp around to the other side yo, will help with fitment and clasp placement. I’ve done it for all my 5-digits with oyster bracelets. The crown will be upside down, but that will just represent current Rolexes enthusiasts sad state of affairs with not being able to buy anything at ADs.
Honestly, I wouldn't grab either. I simply don't like the GMT Master enough to spend that sort of money; an original 1655 Explorer II? Different story. And, despite having a wrist that can carry the Tudor, it's depth is a deal breaker. It's not a comfortable piece. I cannot think of a better entry level GMT than the Glycine Airman DC-4. It has a formidable history and is much more appealing to me both aesthetically and functionally - the true 24 dial is a joy. It's masculine and carries a military toolishness (if such a word exists), yet it also has a certain elegance, particularly when paired with a well chosen leather strap. Another good upload. Thank-you
Nice review. To me Tudor indeed a rolex downgrade back day. But today they strugle to step up with their distinctive model to erase that stigma. Today tudor its a rolex compensation cos of 'scarcity' of a rolex. Id rather chose vintage rolex than new tudor.
GMT bezels should have half hour clicks rather than hourly clicks as there are some time zones that aren't a full hour ahead or behind. Pretty bad design flaw that it doesn't cater for these situations (even though they're more rare) since you can't track these time zones. I still love my Pepsi though.
I love my Tudor Pepsi gmt why should i buy a Rolex gmt vintage when I put my money towards new air king and I got two gorgeous watches for a price o vintage Rolex gmt
I disagree about the bracelet. I own a late 90’s Seamaster bought new and it was universally accepted that Omega had much more comfortable bracelets than Rolex and with better clasps. I also own a Datejust bought new in 1995. The Omega has a much better bracelet.
Love the video! I had the Tudor gmt but it didn't speak to me. Definitely a bit too thick. And I'd get a Pepsi if I had the chance, but agree that it would probably spend most of its time in the watch box. Daily wearability is #1 for me - and for this reason I'm thinking of selling my apollo 20th anniversary speedmaster from 1989 and keeping the hesalite 3861 version.
I think your experience is dominated by the size of your wrist. If you had a 7.5 inch wrist like I do, it would have been an entirely different video. I have worn both of these watches (own the Tudor), and I prefer the Tudor. Sure, I would love it to be thinner, just like I would love the Rolex to be thinner, but these are not Patek watches, so we get what we get :).
The Tudor GMT is awesome 🔥
It's very photogenic 😍
@@WatchCrunchOfficial That's like someone from the South saying, "Bless your sweet heart!" :)))
I think you'd be able to rock that Tudor better than me 👍. Thanks for tuning in as always bud

Loving my Tudor GMT since it came out. Was lucky to get it right away. Still loving it. But I understand it doesn’t feel that great if your wrists are on the smaller side.

@@WatchCrunchOfficial don't think I fall under the manly wrist category 😂😂 but definitely a great piece.
A whole new level of cinematography, impressive drone shots Max.
Great review too👍
Thanks buddy, having fun doing it 👍
I love your video.I own both.My wife wears the Rolex Pepsi from 1991 and I wear the Tudor.Perfect marriage.
Greatings from Germany.
Awesome dude! Your wife is a baller 😎
Love my tudor gmt 😍 thank you 4 put it down

That’s one heck of a coastline you’ve rented there. Tudor s slamming it out there, in my opinion.
Haha, thanks Pierre!

I like before i even start watching your videos, the editing is just on point.
Appreciate that Mohamed 👍
I have a small wrist, but I tried the TUDOR GMT with Tudor‘s NATO strap and it felt better than expected.
The Tudor is a more balanced watch with such a delicate retro bezel. Rolex to flashy and bling bling.

I’ve owned the Tudor since it came. No complaints from me. I also own a lhd Pelagos. Two great watches, and quite affordable.
Both great watches if you have the wrist for it!
Love the old aluminum bezel pepsi. The newer cerachrom just doesn't do it for me- the numbers on the bezel are so bunched up. Big fan of the Tudor.
The old aluminum bezels are so lovely 👍
The 5 digit GMT is sublime. ❤️also appreciate the Top Gun reference.

I'd wear the hell out of my vintage Rolex Pepsi GMT and send it in to Rolex every 5 years for servicing. As you mentioned the BB GMT is top heavy and bulky.
Good call. Just hope they don't over polish or replace the bezel insert 😉
Same doesn't make sense to have a lovely watch and lock it up . Wear it in good health.
The tudor is the only watch where an hommage watch is better than the original piece. The san martin sn109 is 2mm thinner, 140g (40g lighter) and has a an movement that isn’t plagued by issues like the tudor.
fantastic video! I also love the new intro
Thanks Petter, always great to hear from ya 😉
I love my opaline dial. It reminds me of the Rolex gmt meteorite the watch I can’t afford. Lol
The percentage of people using a GMT watch as a necessary tool to track time zones is the same using a dive watch to time their dives.
Can't believe I missed this video, I'm blaming my sick spaniel and having to sleep on the sofa for a week. He's ok now and i think I'm keeping up the tradition of commenting on all your videos ⌚
Sorry to hear Morgan, hope the lil guy is back to full tilt. Nice to see you as always 😁
Another good episode. Nice, keep it up!
Thank you 😎👍
Have you considered a Sinn 856 S UTC? It’s a fantastic alternative travel watch if you want something with robustness and the ability to fly under the radar. It wears really well as I have 6.25in wrist.
It’s reasonably priced too.
Yeah I love Sinn! Will try and track down a 856
Never knew that issue with sizing the Rolex bracelet.
I do think about of getting the Rolex Pepsi on jubilee next though…
Finally same sentiments for the Tudor GMT and the recently released Tudor Chronographs. They all look great on photos, but they have thick slabs.
Had the same dilemma & went with 5 digit explorer 2. Perhaps a best of both worlds, GMT-wise?!?
Yep, I just made a video comparing the polar and the black explorer 2. Great watch
I'm curious what you think of the Baltic Aquascaphe GMT. No Pepsi colors, but definitely a nice and affordable GMT.
I love Baltic, the color selection is attractive too 👍
Just tried on the wrist super case and maxi case, I was thinking my Grail is gmt master II but is not😅 my friend really and absolutely gorgeous is 126710 I still loved two sticks but I so excited about modern Pepsi even better than Batman for me finally 😅 but is too expensive for me so I waiting new releases from Tudor and hope this year we will see bb58 gmt and I believe it’s can be Coke or Batman style aluminum bezel. So I forget about Rolex just waiting for Tudor 😅🙏
Yeah dude! If they cram it into a BB58 case, it would be pure magic 🤓. Fingers crossed 🤞
Great brother, you are making a good video for a good experience 😉
Thanks dude, appreciate ya 👍
Please help and put both the Tudor GMT next to a Rolex GMT, both watches shown from the side, so we can see the difference in their thickness.
Most Tudor GMT owners complain is that it is too thick.
The Rolex GMT is 12mm thick, while the Tudor GMT is 14.6mm. So the Tudor GMT is 2.6mm thicker than a Rolex GMT.
I am surprised that till now I have not seen the thickness comparison by anyone who has compared these two GMT watches.
Thanks.
Great video!
Thanks bud 👍
Exactly - watches should not have to be safe queens. Then they become an investment asset, nothing else.
It's sad so many good watches never get to see the light of day.
Nice house location....the watches are good too
Haha, thanks Bobby, that house was amazing!
Great video, though I’m not sure I’d describe the Tudor GMT as “intolerably thick”.
Thanks! You probably have a beefier wrist than me 😁
I agree 100%. I own a Black Bay GMT and a GMT Master II Coke 16710. The Coke is by far my favorite watch in my collection. The Tudor is too chunky. Not elegant. The Coke I barely realize I'm wearing it.
Good example of how different watches can feel on the wrist! How far we've gone away from the vintage days!
For me Hans Wilsdorf was a business genius on the level of Steve Jobs.
damn that intro for reals!
Haha, thanks 😉
Tudor all the way!
Strongly recommend putting the Lorier Hyperion into this equation. It has the vintage vibes, vintage sizing, and vintage look all in one for a hell of a lot less than either of these options.
Yeah I like the Hyperion a lot!
Wife and I are going to be in the NO Cal area in a couple of months. Where specifically were you? Looks pretty amazing. Though we’ll be in Carmel/Monterey, so that’s kind of hard to beat as well.
This was in Mendocino along the 1. Would check out redwoods np
The Tudor GMT is a lovely watch, but then I'm just on the slimmer side of Jason Momoa.
Tudor being just under 15mm isnt ideal. I like 12 mm. Otherwise i wear the same mentions so i think i can rock it
I would have to agree with the author. The Tudor is nice, but the case is way thicker than it needs to be.
Can’t do the 15 mm case.
where did you end up staying in the north coast
I disagree , i think Val kilmer always gonna be iceman, time can't take that away from him, beside that, your video is a delight as usual.
Haha, I was very alarmed when he reappeared recently
@@WatchCrunchOfficial Indeed
I want Val to always be Doc Holiday….
Haha, a good one as well 😎
IPHONE BATTLE | iPhone 4 vs IPhone 14
LETS GO!!!!!
Great video! The music could be a bit lower in my opinion
Noted 👍. Thanks
Great suggestion! I'll have to give that a try
Tudor
Thank-you
Yeah I got to play with a glycine gmt recently and it was lovely 👍
i need to find a review with someone with larger wrists I guess
Nice review. To me Tudor indeed a rolex downgrade back day. But today they strugle to step up with their distinctive model to erase that stigma. Today tudor its a rolex compensation cos of 'scarcity' of a rolex. Id rather chose vintage rolex than new tudor.
GMT bezels should have half hour clicks rather than hourly clicks as there are some time zones that aren't a full hour ahead or behind. Pretty bad design flaw that it doesn't cater for these situations (even though they're more rare) since you can't track these time zones. I still love my Pepsi though.
Very interesting point! Did the 4 digit GMT masters click at all?
The Tudor GMT bezel does have half hour clicks.
The Tudor looks so good but it's just too big. Maybe we will see a BB58 GMT in the futur.
Yes Tizian, we can dream!
