I only heard this version for the first time, a couple of weeks ago, and suddenly it seems to be EVERYWHERE! I was the same way all the way through. What I noticed was that the credits said "guest singer" and Dan isn't mentioned in the description of Orion's Reign either. I find that a bit of a shame. The cover was released in 2017 and Dan was listed as a band singer or guest singer during this time.
He certainly never regretted his later decision to leave the band.
Actually, Dan has said that he never OFFICIALLY was on their singer list.
Also, you mentioned that the credits DID say, "guest singer, and that Dan isn't mentioned in the description of Orion's Reign, either. That didn't make sense. Did you mean that the credits (from Viking) did NOT mention "guest singer," perhaps?
Sorry...I just got a little puzzled by that statement.

Usually they are all listed there. Even if Dan was a guest singer, he should have been there.
I just complained about that. The year is 2024 and the recording is from 2017, all good.
Maybe Google didn't translate it correctly!!!
@@user-vq9xs5hv2i I certainly agree...whoever was at fault in that regard should at least try to do something about it...even in Orion's Reign comments, even a PINNED comment would do the job (probably better than the description). Either one is an easy thing to fix by going into one's studio and make the quick change(s). I know...I have to fix things like that, where I've omitted something by accident. Easy Peasy! 😀

You give the best Dan reactions! I love the original but this is even more bangin"! Dan was a session singer for OR but they listed him as a band member. They put out some great songs together including Christmas songs and an album , Scores of War, which is very good. I believe Dan even wrote some of those songs and it is right up your alley, Viking. You can google Dan's letter to his fans when he left OR and as usual, he shows a lot of class.

As always epic stuff from Dan. Hey so some bragging rights here guys. I’m in Australia and back in 1974 AC/DC with the original singer Bon Scott played at my year 10 formal. What a night! There we were in our formal best, gettin wasted, with Angus running around the dance floor in his school uniform,shorts and jacket!! Of course these epic songs had yet to be written 💪🤘💥💥 early days for the band but man they rocked!

Dan wrote the lyrics at the request of Ricardo, who wrote the music. It's FANTASTIC. I was posted on May 12, 2023 -- just over a month after "Amazing Grace." Most people never saw it. My daughter Judi caught it, and told me about it, right in the middle of a WHOLE lot of people griping and complaining about him not making anything new since "Amazing Grace." 😀 It's fantastic!

I really enjoy your comments - so much that I check every night to see if there is a new post. I've been listening to music every day for about 20 years - I sing as a crow, I have to mention that 🤣 - but in my struggle with epilepsy and with the secondary depressions caused by post-traumatic stress syndrome, music has always been the best remedy even when, or especially when, the drugs and therapy have failed me. It's fascinating to me to feel that I can share my passion for music with someone else - who feels that it's not just entertainment, buta lot more.
It's also interesting because, obviously, I don't "hear" all the things you hear, but in one way or another, although we hear them differently, the thing we like is the same: the power of the music, its harmony, its passion, its perfection in -a totally imperfect world. I apologize for my bad English, I'm not fluent at all. I wish you only the best, my friend!
