I love this series of videos. The PS1 Resident Evil games were a major part of my early childhood back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Used to play them alongside my mom and my uncle. These videos remind me of those good old days.
You did it! Well done, great job! It's been a real pleasure to see you guys do this, the sheer joy on your faces when that rocket hit home (aka the nuts 🤣) bought back a lot of fond memories of me & my brother playing it all those years ago, so cheers for that! There are so many playthroughs online for these games, but this is the only one where you can witness 2 people experience it for the very first time with no idea what to expect. Watching you make all the mistakes I did took me back to being a kid again!

Oh man What a finale. It was truly fun to watch you Pablo and Lexonal beating this game and of course you re-voicing some of the lines. Remembering things from a long time ago. Definitely cracked up when you guys laughed at shooting the Tyrant in the NUTs hahaha. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I could see how happy you guys were to beat it. Awesome. I grew up with Resident Evil in the 90's. I still love it to this day. I had even made a RE3 Remake dodge compilation on RUclips a couple of years ago playing as Jill Valentine. Just a fun fact, the live action actor for Barry at the start and end scenes used to be a school principal in my town of Wagga Wagga (Australia) named Greg Smith. My brother and I had him as principal . I since moved out of town for my job after graduating University but from what I hear he still lives there and has since retired as of 2016. Being a town of around 50,000 people my parents still see him around and he's a really nice guy and we both recognize each other whenever I visit home. So yeah in a way I am friends with Barry Burton!

You know, I may have met Greg back during my time in Japan as an extra on some set. Met a few Australians when I was in Japan - great people. And each one had a fantastic story about how close to death they came when they were younger - anything from sharks, crocs, falling off some cliff, you name it, they experienced it!!
I appreciate your son's willingness to learn how to play this game! I know people who are triple his age that have never had any patience for it. All they do is whine and complain about the clunky controls and the difficulty that the game poses. It isn't easy for anyone to pick up and play, and I imagine it would be even more of a challenge for someone who was born 10+ years after the game was released. But he stuck with it. Good stuff!

Glad you've both enjoyed your journey through this game, I'm excited to see yourselves on Chris's playthrough, I didn't want to give too many hints etc with it being your first playthrough. :) All of the resident evil games (and most capcom games for that fact) have always had some kind of Rank system that grades you on how many times you heal, save and time to complete the game, along with that then you get a reward for either completing the game or depending on your rank a special weapon etc. If you enjoy this "puzzle" style resident evil then you'll love 2 & 3, 0 was ok, 4+ are very arcade like. Again, thanks for the shout out, sorry my names terrible to pronounce haha, (Shin - oh - tah - mah) and thank you both for the hours of entertainment, roll on the other games!! :D
You didn't sound bad at all in that exchange before Tyrant, Pablo. It's box office gold! This was the first game I played that had multiple endings. I remember replaying it as a kid and being surprised/perplexed that events played out slightly different the 2nd go around. This was a great journey. I beg of you 2 to play more of the classic resident evil games. Theres something magical about watching people play through the first time and trying to figure things out without relying on guides all the time
Ah the big finale! Very well done guys great team effort I'd imagine this will be even more fondly remembered as the years flow by, nice cameo call from the Matriarch as well.🌳 The reaction an battles with the Chimera BOWs was a funny highlight and of course saying the classic lines alongside the in game action😎, Tyrant gave you far more guff than I imagined, really was a war of attrition gotta keep that distance an keep his attack patterns in mind, huge kudos for sticking with it despite the deaths, all worth it for that glorious victory moment of course!🙌 Thanks for these videos, always a calm relaxing listen while tackling house missions, Happy New Year and beyond to you and yours!☘ Oh and the special key is for some alternative costumes, a little aesthetic reward for completing the title.👁🧬☣

Congrats on beating the game! So glad you pushed through even though it must have been frustrating to do the same thing over and over.. made it feel even more rewarding in the end. Also glad you reminded your son of the red herb. Red/Green combo heals for 100%. I actually like the interactions more if you do not save Barry. Then you get some Wesker-Jill dialogue inside the room with the tyrant. While Chris is surely the more difficult playthrough, with all the knowledge you picked up it shouldnt be too tough. You should be able to get through the game much faster with him even though some things change. Curious what you guys will think about RE 2 + 3 and REmake.

So stoked to see you guys complete this together, you can really tell both of you guys had an absolute blast throughout the playthrough and us as fans really enjoyed seeing that!
I'm a little late here but you did a fantastic job, thank you again for this great present/fan service, you know what? I also beat RE1 for the first time on December 31st just like you, but it was year 1999, I just got back from a new year's eve gig I did with my band, so techincally it was already january 1st 2000 in the morning but still had to sleep so to me it was still the day before :D, I remember I was destroyed when I first beat it, what a tough game it was, and I also did the same mistakes as you at the end, I remember I went through the Wesker's dialogue at laest 10 times cause I kept tanking the Tyrant instead of "shoot once and run", and on the heliport you should just pack yourself with herbs and sprays and dodge his attacks and wait for the rocket launcher, Tyrant doesn't die on the heliport so any attempt to shoot at him just exposes you to his heavy blows, and I suggest save the game right after the first Tyrant encounter so that you won't have to go through the unskippable Wesker's dialogue over and over, the save room is the door in the corridor between the elevator and the power room (where you faced those pesky respawning monsters). I've replayed the games so many times later on and now I always beat it with little effort, but unfortunately nothing is gonna be like the very first experience.... Ah if you ever decide to replay the game with Chris I warn you it's gonna be much tougher, less space in the inventory, no lockpick (you'll need to collect small keys to unlock simple locks), no Barry, and more monsters, and this time you'll have to figure out the keypad code so that you can make the V-Jolt :D, also the broken shotgun will have some use this time. Really hope you've now developed a passion for RE and play the sequels as well, though there's nothing better than the original RE you've just beaten IMO.
Absolute phenomenal playthrough. Against all odds, the Tyrant is defeated and got the best ending! I’m looking forward to the Chris play through. It really is a different (Tougher) experience.
I always thought your vocal delivery matched the character's smooth-talking slickness, and the cheesiness of the lines were a byproduct of the game's intended atmosphere, emulating the campy horror flicks of that era. Speaking of, I can't wait to watch the Chris playthrough! It contains by far the best spoken dialogue from the character, perhaps any character from a video game: "I'm sorry for my lack of manners, but I'm not used to escorting men." Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you: Video Games, this is what they do, this why we love them so much. It is so surreal to see one of the original voice actors experiencing what we did back in 1996. For them it was just another job they did and forgot about it. For many years they remained totally oblivious of the huge impact their work caused to an entire generation. Now 26 years later, it comes back full circle. I say this because Erick, the Live Action actor for Wesker asked on his interview; what was the deal?, what made Resident Evil so special?, why them, why Resident Evil. Well this playthrough explores that question and gives a very clear answer to that question.
Congrats guys! Such a huge achievement! The tyrant is such a ridiculously difficult fight for first time players. He just comes at you full force. But you prevailed AND got the best ending! And, you managed to discover the Tyrant's secret weakness: no, not the big, ridiculous heart beating on his chest, but the ol' bean pouch.

the special key gives you access to the alternate costumes you find it in any item box and you can use it in the double door room on the right on the first floor where you obtained the first map, i believe it’s near that area in the back left

We could see how Lex slowly improved on his battle experience from fighting the Bio Organic Weapons (B.O.W.) of Umbrella. Hope to see you guys again! All the best! Oh, by the way, Nicole, the most recent mocap and voice actor for Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) is arranging lives with the other guys who took part into bringing the RE's characters to life. She does playthroughs with other VA's and mocap actors and it's greatly appreciated by the fans. Maybe you could participate one day? I think it would blow the fans' minds. There's also another person on RUclips named Suzi, she's a huge fan of Survival Horror in general (and of the RE franchise, mainly). 01:19:58 When I was younger I thought Barry let the Tyrant out. But of course Wesker put it on a timer for it to come out before he left the lab. Barry is only logging into the computer to see the status of the creature/system.

Last night I watched the video on Lexonal's channel but I missed this few minutes of funniest part of the video... 1:33:24 👈 "I shot Tyrant in the nuts!" Best strategy... I mean, it must have been so painful for him! 😂 This series is awesome... Can't wait to see your gameplay in Chris scenario! And for other Resident Evil games, I think you have to play them in their first release date order; From old to new... You can also make a short video of playing the canceled RE games or even the old demos discs... For Resident Evil 2, avoid the PC version because it has everything UNLOCKED since the beginning, and it is censored by default. Either play the North American GameCube version 🇺🇸 or the North American Dual Shock Ver. for the PlayStation as these two versions are the least-censored ones... 🔥 And same goes for RE3! For setting up the emulators, I'll always be there for help... But until then, enjoy your Chris scenario play-through! 🎮 💙

i think all of us who played Resi back in the day did a play threw where we ran out of Ammo or health Items at the end . i ran out of health while on red Caution just before you fight Tyrant on Resident Evil Directors Cut on Advanced mode ( Hard ) . normally you can get tyrant stuck on weskers body on the floor lol but where you had the best ending he wasnt there to use that trick . with the diffrent endings you will get the diffrent lines from wesker . big congrats on beating tryant i know he can be tough
Congrats on FINALLY beating Jill's story good luck with Chris's story two fun facts i might as well mention 1. Chris has higher defence or life so he can take more hits than Jill can in this and 2. in the Directors Cut on PS1 getting the best ending by saving both teammates rewards players with the Special Key and a Infinite Colt Python although the closet is unlocked already on Arranged/Advanced mode and the game doesn't even mention the Python until you check your inventory and the PC version instead gives a infinite Machine Gun which is different for both characters.

Forever optimistic! It sure is a great feeling. When Tyrant was actually running after Lexonal I was a but concerned he may not get out of there alive, but he did it! We are taking all suggestions shall probably play the remake, possibly after Chris, would that make sense?
the specail Key gives you new outfits . you can acess the door from the main hall way next to the blue door . there is a room at the back locked where the big mirror is . if you conplete the game in under 3 hours you get the rocket launcher with 00 Ammo

At 1:20:00 if you dont get the Best Good ending which is what you will get from this play threw . The Tyrant will kill wesker in one off the most Iconic Resident evil 1 scenes . so if you do a chris run next you can see something diffrent / the diffrent voice lines you did i think there are 3 endings for jill & chris each
Gotta throw code Veronica in Aswell as that’s the next wesker game would be awesome to see pablos thoughts on his evolution of the character seen as how pablo was the first to bring him to life in game, also we all know code Veronica is the real re3
@@PabloKuntz pablo please consider doe Veronica Aswell it’s technically the last of the trilogy although being a 4th game, re3 was not the real third installment and was made re3 due the contract Capcom had with Sony to release 3 games on the ps1 so code Veronica instead went to dream cast and later the ps2 and other consoles it’s also weskers big return and a must play after finishing re2 as it rounds out the other 3 games story as a whole before the franchise of course went off in a different direction, lots of content out of the next 3 games plus Chris’a playthrough for both your channels 😂 and I have to say again code Veronica is the return of wesker but not as we know him lol would be very excited to get your take on the character haha I understand if not but please consider it haha
fantastic ending :) just a pro tip, you dont need to aim up all the time. it only sames to work with zombies but anything else just point and shoot. Cant wait to see the Chris run but remember, Chris is the Hard mode of the game whereas Jill was Easy lol. Take care.

1:21:49 i always thought it was unfair how people lay into this game for the voice acting. i think the dialogue itself could be a bit clunky and from what ive heard in various interviews, the actors were left in the dark to the point where they didnt know what game they worked on or how successful it become! For me the voices and characters set this game above anything id ever played before! Actual voice acting in a game after playing floppy disc Amiga games was a huge step up and it really immersed me into the story! it was incredibly exciting and to this day im still very fond of it! As great looking and cinematic as modern games are these days, i can still always be in the mood to play this game!
Wow you guys did it congratz!!!!! Any plan of beating the game with Chris? It's going to be harder because with him you got only 6 spaces inventory, no lock pick you need to find small keys, no grenade launcher, no Barry, more enemies and you start with only a knife. But on the bright side Chris has more HP.

well the voice acting was very normal to me like all the other games acting .. i never noticed any cheezie acting since the start .. but maybe because im from kuwait .. English is not actually my language .. but some people commented that maybe its because the voice actors was Canadians and trying to make American accent .. i don't know .. and some other comments said that u guys was making the voice acting without actually watching the scene that's why the emotions was not matching ,, but again it was pretty normal and cool to me from start i was shock why people said this
No we weren't trying to imitate anyone or an American accent, we just did a more dramatic version of the dialogue that ended up matching up to the game in my opinion - a little bit of magic that is RE!
I love this series of videos. The PS1 Resident Evil games were a major part of my early childhood back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Used to play them alongside my mom and my uncle. These videos remind me of those good old days.

This was an absolute joy watching you guys play the game together, and I’ve got my fingers crossed we’ll be seeing some more content on this. There’s still Chris, and then you can focus on getting that time down to get some really sweet rewards on subsequent play throughs if you can beat the game fast enough!

Just a fun fact, the live action actor for Barry at the start and end scenes used to be a school principal in my town of Wagga Wagga (Australia) named Greg Smith. My brother and I had him as principal . I since moved out of town for my job after graduating University but from what I hear he still lives there and has since retired as of 2016. Being a town of around 50,000 people my parents still see him around and he's a really nice guy and we both recognize each other whenever I visit home. So yeah in a way I am friends with Barry Burton!

You know, I may have met Greg back during my time in Japan as an extra on some set. Met a few Australians when I was in Japan - great people. And each one had a fantastic story about how close to death they came when they were younger - anything from sharks, crocs, falling off some cliff, you name it, they experienced it!!

I appreciate your son's willingness to learn how to play this game! I know people who are triple his age that have never had any patience for it. All they do is whine and complain about the clunky controls and the difficulty that the game poses. It isn't easy for anyone to pick up and play, and I imagine it would be even more of a challenge for someone who was born 10+ years after the game was released. But he stuck with it. Good stuff!

Glad you've both enjoyed your journey through this game, I'm excited to see yourselves on Chris's playthrough, I didn't want to give too many hints etc with it being your first playthrough. :)
All of the resident evil games (and most capcom games for that fact) have always had some kind of Rank system that grades you on how many times you heal, save and time to complete the game, along with that then you get a reward for either completing the game or depending on your rank a special weapon etc.
If you enjoy this "puzzle" style resident evil then you'll love 2 & 3, 0 was ok, 4+ are very arcade like.

You didn't sound bad at all in that exchange before Tyrant, Pablo. It's box office gold! This was the first game I played that had multiple endings. I remember replaying it as a kid and being surprised/perplexed that events played out slightly different the 2nd go around. Definitely felt the excitement watching Lexonal overcome Tyrant with the rocket launcher. Awesome moment, so proud!

Very well done guys great team effort I'd imagine this will be even more fondly remembered as the years flow by, nice cameo call from the Matriarch as well.🌳 The reaction an battles with the Chimera BOWs was a funny highlight and of course saying the classic lines alongside the in game action😎, Tyrant gave you far more guff than I imagined, really was a war of attrition gotta keep that distance an keep his attack patterns in mind, huge kudos for sticking with it despite the deaths, all worth it for that glorious victory moment of course!🙌 Thanks for these videos, always a calm relaxing listen while tackling house missions, Happy New Year and beyond to you and yours!☘ Oh and the special key is for some alternative costumes, a little aesthetic reward for completing the title.👁🧬☣

Congrats on beating the game! So glad you pushed through even though it must have been frustrating to do the same thing over and over.. made it feel even more rewarding in the end. Also glad you reminded your son of the red herb. Red/Green combo heals for 100%.
I actually like the interactions more if you do not save Barry. Then you get some Wesker-Jill dialogue inside the room with the tyrant.
While Chris is surely the more difficult playthrough, with all the knowledge you picked up it shouldnt be too tough. You should be able to get through the game much faster with him even though some things change.

I'm a little late here but you did a fantastic job, thank you again for this great present/fan service, you know what? I also beat RE1 for the first time on December 31st just like you, but it was year 1999, I just got back from a new year's eve gig I did with my band, so techincally it was already january 1st 2000 in the morning but still had to sleep so to me it was still the day before :D, I remember I was destroyed when I first beat it, what a tough game it was, and I also did the same mistakes as you at the end, I remember I went through the Wesker's dialogue at laest 10 times cause I kept tanking the Tyrant instead of "shoot once and run", and on the heliport you should just pack yourself with herbs and sprays and dodge his attacks and wait for the rocket launcher, Tyrant doesn't die on the heliport so any attempt to shoot at him just exposes you to his heavy blows, and I suggest save the game right after the first Tyrant encounter so that you won't have to go through the unskippable Wesker's dialogue over and over, the save room is the door in the corridor between the elevator and the power room (where you faced those pesky respawning monsters). I've replayed the games so many times later on and now I always beat it with little effort, but unfortunately nothing is gonna be like the very first experience....
Ah if you ever decide to replay the game with Chris I warn you it's gonna be much tougher, less space in the inventory, no lockpick (you'll need to collect small keys to unlock simple locks), no Barry, and more monsters, and this time you'll have to figure out the keypad code so that you can make the V-Jolt :D, also the broken shotgun will have some use this time. Really hope you've now developed a passion for RE and play the sequels as well, though there's nothing better than the original RE you've just beaten IMO.
Absolute phenomenal playthrough. Against all odds, the Tyrant is defeated and got the best ending! I’m looking forward to the Chris play through. It really is a different (Tougher) experience.

I always thought your vocal delivery matched the character's smooth-talking slickness, and the cheesiness of the lines were a byproduct of the game's intended atmosphere, emulating the campy horror flicks of that era.
Speaking of, I can't wait to watch the Chris playthrough! It contains by far the best spoken dialogue from the character, perhaps any character from a video game: "I'm sorry for my lack of manners, but I'm not used to escorting men."

I'm a bit late to the party, but well done on reaching the finish line; this one seemed like the toughest one yet, just because of the lack of those pesky green herbs. Can't wait to watch the next playthrough, whichever game you decide to go with.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you: Video Games, this is what they do, this why we love them so much. It is so surreal to see one of the original voice actors experiencing what we did back in 1996. For them it was just another job they did and forgot about it. For many years they remained totally oblivious of the huge impact their work caused to an entire generation. Now 26 years later, it comes back full circle. I say this because Erick, the Live Action actor for Wesker asked on his interview; what was the deal?, what made Resident Evil so special?, why them, why Resident Evil. Well this playthrough explores that question and gives a very clear answer to that question.

Congrats guys! Such a huge achievement! The tyrant is such a ridiculously difficult fight for first time players. He just comes at you full force. But you prevailed AND got the best ending! And, you managed to discover the Tyrant's secret weakness: no, not the big, ridiculous heart beating on his chest, but the ol' bean pouch.

the special key gives you access to the alternate costumes you find it in any item box and you can use it in the double door room on the right on the first floor where you obtained the first map, i believe it’s near that area in the back left

Oh, by the way, Nicole, the most recent mocap and voice actor for Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) is arranging lives with the other guys who took part into bringing the RE's characters to life. She does playthroughs with other VA's and mocap actors and it's greatly appreciated by the fans. Maybe you could participate one day? I think it would blow the fans' minds.
There's also another person on RUclips named Suzi, she's a huge fan of Survival Horror in general (and of the RE franchise, mainly). It would blow her mind to know that you've been found and did a playthrough of RE1. Her channel's name is "The Sphere Hunter".

01:19:58 When I was younger I thought Barry let the Tyrant out. But of course Wesker put it on a timer for it to come out before he left the lab. Barry is only logging into the computer to see the status of the creature/system.

And for other Resident Evil games, I think you have to play them in their first release date order; From old to new... You can also make a short video of playing the canceled RE games or even the old demos discs...
For Resident Evil 2, avoid the PC version because it has everything UNLOCKED since the beginning, and it is censored by default. Either play the North American GameCube version 🇺🇸 or the North American Dual Shock Ver. for the PlayStation as these two versions are the least-censored ones... 🔥 And same goes for RE3!
For setting up the emulators, I'll always be there for help...

@Lexonal and Pablo, I want to thank you so much for your Let's Play, I loved it a lot! I genuinely appreciate the fact you've recorded all this experience of playing this game for the first time, it was the same for me a month ago (yup, played RE1 for the first time in 2023), those moment of confusion, where to go next, what to do with these doom books, etc. And such good chemistry and enthusiasm, the moments of wins made me go "yayy" real time while watching.

i think all of us who played Resi back in the day did a play threw where we ran out of Ammo or health Items at the end .
i ran out of health while on red Caution just before you fight Tyrant on Resident Evil Directors Cut on Advanced mode ( Hard ) .
normally you can get tyrant stuck on weskers body on the floor lol but where you had the best ending he wasnt there to use that trick .
with the diffrent endings you will get the diffrent lines from wesker .

Congrats on FINALLY beating Jill's story good luck with Chris's story two fun facts i might as well mention 1. Chris has higher defence or life so he can take more hits than Jill can in this and 2. in the Directors Cut on PS1 getting the best ending by saving both teammates rewards players with the Special Key and a Infinite Colt Python although the closet is unlocked already on Arranged/Advanced mode and the game doesn't even mention the Python until you check your inventory and the PC version instead gives a infinite Machine Gun which is different for both characters.

Forever optimistic! It sure is a great feeling. When Tyrant was actually running after Lexonal I was a but concerned he may not get out of there alive, but he did it! We are taking all suggestions shall probably play the remake, possibly after Chris, would that make sense?
the specail Key gives you new outfits .
you can acess the door from the main hall way next to the blue door . there is a room at the back locked where the big mirror is .
if you conplete the game in under 3 hours you get the rocket launcher with 00 Ammo

@@PabloKuntz pablo please consider doe Veronica Aswell it’s technically the last of the trilogy although being a 4th game, re3 was not the real third installment and was made re3 due the contract Capcom had with Sony to release 3 games on the ps1 so code Veronica instead went to dream cast and later the ps2 and other consoles it’s also weskers big return and a must play after finishing re2 as it rounds out the other 3 games story as a whole before the franchise of course went off in a different direction, lots of content out of the next 3 games plus Chris’a playthrough for both your channels 😂 and I have to say again code Veronica is the return of wesker but not as we know him lol would be very excited to get your take on the character haha I understand if not but please consider it haha

fantastic ending :) just a pro tip, you dont need to aim up all the time. it only sames to work with zombies but anything else just point and shoot. Cant wait to see the Chris run but remember, Chris is the Hard mode of the game whereas Jill was Easy lol. Take care.

1:21:49 i always thought it was unfair how people lay into this game for the voice acting. i think the dialogue itself could be a bit clunky and from what ive heard in various interviews, the actors were left in the dark to the point where they didnt know what game they worked on or how successful it become! For me the voices and characters set this game above anything id ever played before! Actual voice acting in a game after playing floppy disc Amiga games was a huge step up and it really immersed me into the story! it was incredibly exciting and to this day im still very fond of it! As great looking and cinematic as modern games are these days, i can still always be in the mood to play this game!

It's going to be harder because with him you got only 6 spaces inventory, no lock pick you need to find small keys, no grenade launcher, no Barry, more enemies and you start with only a knife. But on the bright side Chris has more HP.

well the voice acting was very normal to me like all the other games acting .. i never noticed any cheezie acting since the start .. but maybe because im from kuwait .. English is not actually my language .. but some people commented that maybe its because the voice actors was Canadians and trying to make American accent .. i don't know .. and some other comments said that u guys was making the voice acting without actually watching the scene that's why the emotions was not matching ,, but again it was pretty normal and cool to me from start i was shock why people said this
No we weren't trying to imitate anyone or an American accent, we just did a more dramatic version of the dialogue that ended up matching up to the game in my opinion - a little bit of magic that is RE!
