    Voyager 1 is so sad :( imagine all the places it will visit all lost And alone and not being able to tell anyone. Will never come back home but will just keep floating away . It's like sending wallE out there

    Voyager 1 is a sad invention. It will power down and fly with almost no reason, no connection. It would constantly break the records of distance, maybe could still provide us with information about the territory outside Solar System, eventually even going outside Milky Way and beyond. But we wouldn't even have a clue about that. We would forget. Our message in a bottle would became nothing but a memory.

    • @israco89

    • @DamianQualshy
      @DamianQualshy 6 лет назад +4

      ^^ Hell I am
      ^ But what then? I don't think they would recover a connection between us and Voyager. And it would take hundreds or thousands of years for finders to make a connection with us. If they would think about that, and if they would find the location of our planet. Also, if we would still be alive.

    • @patkun01
      @patkun01 6 лет назад +14

      @@DamianQualshy sorry, but Voyager 1, and so the other Probes, serves as a time capsule. There's no guarantee that we could survive in the next millenias. Nothing will survive on Earth by then and anything we bury or sent out into orbit would be nothing. What's the greatest solution? Send probes with endless journeys. So what's their point in the next 100,000 years if ever discovered by other intelligent beings? It will serve as a proof for them that they are not alone, or that Earth and humans existed. It serves as a proof of our existence. Lucky they have proofs as we still cannot proof that we are not alone as there are no evidences at all...

    • @DamianQualshy
      @DamianQualshy 6 лет назад +5

      @@patkun01 Yes, I know. But it still feels sad. We could be extinct by then, and Voyager would still just move and move. Honestly, I don't know how much a civilization would be advanced to somehow grab the Voyager and take it. Because it's just so fast, and it can't slow down in a vacuum.
      Right?

    If your talking manned, we've only been as far as the moon.
    Unmanned? Then weve exited the bubble of solar wind. Its amazing we can still communicate with that probe. It will die soon though, its amazing that its systems are still functioning perfectly. That just proves all old technology is much more durable. It accidentally lasted that long.
    Isnt it going something like 200 km per second? Or is it 2000? I cant remember. Probably 2000. Thats kinda fast though isnt it?
    Edit: oh nah i was thinking per hour probably.
    Its actually moving at 17.26 km/s

    • @Hunter-ow4me
      @Hunter-ow4me 6 лет назад +1

      -It's not amazing that we can still communicate with it. It sends radio waves in a straight line through space where there is literally nothing to get in their way.
      -It's systems aren't all functioning 'perfectly', it's power is dwindling.
      -it doesn't prove old technology is more durable. It proves simple technology (radios and cameras) is more durable.
      -It didn't accidentally last that long. It has lasted longer than expected, which isn't saying a lot considering it was the first attempt at this
      -Whether you were thinking per hour or per minute, 17.26 does not even come close to multiplying by 60 to get 200 or 2000.
      👍

    If power wasn't a problem, how long could Voyager 1 or similar ships keep sending information? I mean wouldn't it make sense to make multiple ships and launch one, then launch another one 10 years later to act as a slingshot and continue the process. Unless distance is no problem because its already pretty damn far out there.
