You must carry a scanner to arrive so quickly to these fires. You do wonderful camera work reminds me of back in the day when I was a firefighter. Stay safe
One scanner is not enough. What Fire Department?
@@firelensman worked as a volunteer firefighter in Alameda county California now disbanded Tennyson Fire Protection District. I think it was disbanded in the 1990s anyway I was young and it was a fantastic experience
Nice videos. Thanks for posting.
Cheers from Texas.
Very good footage, & video from you!!!👍👍 Thanks for the video, & keep up the good work 😀 nice job as always LAFD 🚒
Oh man, I totally misread that title of the video, from the way it looks, I thought this video was about LAFD engine 3, Crashes with another fire Engine.......LOL
Another great video.
Ty for your service
Lol the medic was like those takedowns are bright as fuck
Not sure what they would've done without all those people there to wave and point at the burning car in the middle of the road
just found this comment😂😂😂😂
I see so many newer cars where they catch fire in the front after a major accident. I never saw this happen with older cars. Could it be the fuel injectors that cause the car to catch fire so quickly?
Could be, I think there are other factors, smaller cars, more fiberglass & aluminum bodies instead of iron & metal. "Body on frame" design may be a better protection for the gas tank, "me thinks."
Was Jabba the Hut on dispatch?
Question: the 3rd car engine compartment is on fire. There was already a fire truck there - why did they wait for that second engine?
I think the first in company was an ambulance. At 7:15 you can see the back doors of it.
I guess a car fire is nuts for firefighters. A few water bursts, thats it. :-)
How do you get to these scenes so quick? LOL Enjoy your videos.
If I can't get ahold of my friends at the "psychic friends network" to clue me in I check in with my "crystal ball" and see if it speaks to me..,time, location, incident.
Holy crap they hit that S10 blazer and totaled both
Did anybody notice that in the second fire the red car is pushed up so far the tops of the tires are showing? How is it staying up? Also, I think it is pretty funny that it has an orange safety cone in the back.
+Holly Rockwell Are you talking about the red SUV? Its probably being held up by the bent "leaf-springs." The leaf-springs hold the axle to the frame of the vehicle. The leaf-springs looks like a bow or arch. As for the orange safety cone, I bet the owner works at a parking lot and needs it to direct cars away from an area, or save a spot.
+firelensman Thanks for that explanation. I looked up leaf-springs and now understand how that could have happened.
@ 2:08 looks like someone is sitting in the passenger seat of that red car...
Maybe a ghost or alien...Looking right at us...
Nice. The mind can play tricks on us, good observation ! Just the headrest though..."Pareidolia."
check out 46's LAPD siren.....
It is unique and cool. "Code 4, Fire in Custody."
I thought most engines had a rubber line on a reel that could be spooled off easily to get water on a vehicle or other small fire more quickly. I guess a hose is better for more water since these vehicles will probably be total losses anyway.
LACoFD has their engines set up like that.
***** All of the information you provided is great. I of course am not a firefighter but just interested in the fire service. Thanks.
jbm banter Alot of departments call that type of hose reel a "booster line". I did not read the above posters entire response as it was really long, but booster lines have fallen out of favor in a lot of areas as the standard hose size has jumped from 1.5" to 1.75". You also have more options pulling from the hose bed directly. At my department, all our previous generation rigs had booster lines, however none of our current generation rigs have them anymore.
jbm banter you can find this type of reel on units in the Detroit fire department today. They have a reel of rubber 1-3/4 inch hose dubbed the red line that is commonly first pulled when they arrive on the scene of a fire.
Like I said the 'red line' would be good for knock down of a small fire. Thanks for the info.
so i see a lot of videos of this why does it take all of them forever to put a fire out ...theres water on the truck really ..they spend 2/6min moving hoses really while it burns
James Hoffman With vehicle fires there is rarely any risk to life safety. In all videos posted here, there was also very little risk of fire extension. No rush for a non threatening situation
Also there are things that like to go boom on cars, you know tires, air bags, ect. that if cooled really fast make a bigger boom.
Arwen Bernard right? Like on the second car, it was hot enough inside already that the windows blew when they ran the stream of water over them.
don't feel you have to rush!
If there is nobody in the wrecked car, why trip ?
Almost every fire engine in the Netherlands and Begium have 2 High Presure lines to quickly knock down small fires as a carfire. Fed by the water from the tank (usually 1500 ltr or more). Also used bij bushfires and so.
See: ruclips.net/video/IjXdavUeh6U/видео.html
Get a five inch line on it.
All three cars were red 🚗 🚘 🚗
Last one is white
Sorry guys its painful to watch
At first I thought it was a black and white and not an engine
+Jarred Jackson Your partially right, that is a PD siren on an Engine. Makes LAFD Engine 46 a little different, so what?
i could have put it off just with a bucket of water
I love the lady in her gown at the beginning directing the Firetruck where to go, I mean as if they were blind.
The little ole lady in the night gown (directing the arrival of first responders) was trying to tell the police and fire ambulance that the injured party was in the second car a few hundred feet down the road.
That's a typical I just watched a video and obviously know better than them attitude. If you had watched it properly you would have realised the first vehicle was the EMT's and the lady, quite correctly, was letting them know the location of the casualty.
Cool
@7:55 THE LIGHTS OF GOD HIMSELF
Day Mal
The new led scene lights will knock your retinas out the back of your skull. They should, each one is about $900.00
I always got a laugh out people waving theire arms and jumping up n down like idiots. Like we cant see the mashed up burning car or the 30 foot flames blowing out of a house. Everyone turns into a traffic cop too.
I always appreciate folks waving their arms and jumping up and down. At least they let you know the exact location instead of having to look down entry's and look for house numbers. Do not mock the public trying to help.
That first red car is ugly anyway just let it burn
I like the homeless guys... Hey, the car on fire is over here, Firemen! LMAO
That red car is ugly anyway
