Agreed! According to Lichtman's 13 keys model, which has had a 100% success rate since 1984 (back when most Americans thought that Reagan was too old to run for president). We desperately need the incumbency advantage and and having a chaotic, divisive primary/convention would greatly damage the Democratic party and likely cause Dems to lose to Trump and the GOP in 2024. Plus, if we have a chaotic, divisive primary/convention then very likely RFK jr. will gain a lot more traction to the point of ultimately spoiling the election for the Dems.
Look what happened in 1968 when Dems lost to Nixon because of the fact that they had a chaotic, divisive primary/convention after LBJ decided not to run for election and George Wallace, a southern Democrat, ran as a major 3rd party spoiler candidate against his own party. Look what happened when the Dems lost to Trump because Bernie Sanders greatly divided and weakened the Dems along with Jill Stein and Gary Johnson who ultimately spoiled the election as significant 3rd party candidates.
