It isn't a ground breaking one because victims have always been told the same crap. They've always weaponized something against us instead of actually addressing the the problem. In 2024 it's the same as the women who came out against Justice Thomas or other people throughout history especially if they were people with power. It sucks and it's horrible, but I don't have much hope in it changing any time soon.

How they STILL speak in terms of 'seductress', 'vixen', 'deviously sexy'...about girls who are LITERALLY UNDERAGE. From a very young age we basically get told everything that happens to us is our own fault. And if it's not, it somehow still is.

I'm sorry you were disrespected like that. I also was groomed as a teen by a man in his mid 30s. He played into it more by trying to take the place of my dad who my mom had recently gotten police to get out of our home. After he gained my trust and took on a fatherly figure thats when his sexual motives came to light. All that to say I understand being manpulated as a minor by an adult. I stand with Tana and people who have dealt with similar things.

Heya! There’s something else to this nobody has added yet! When Cody was 24/25, he dated a high-schooler from Laguna Beach named EB. This was around 2015, when he was making the transition from Vine to RUclips vlogging videos. The vlogs really do have so much information about his past inappropriate habits. He would hang around a LOT of high schoolers, including EB and her friend, RS. There’s links to RUclips videos on Reddit with Cody kissing EB, and at the time, EB had only just turned 18 in May, two months prior to the video. There are also videos where he (Cody) and his friend group obnoxiously flirt with RS. I don’t know if RS and EB were the only two girls, but they were certainly the most prevalent. You can check this for yourself, but this is fact. Please spread this around so we can get more attention on it!! This shows Cody has repetitive inappropriate behaviors concerning minors.

The thing that's worst about this is that Tana has no chance of getting justice. The statute of limitations has expired so Cody can't be prosecuted in the state of Florida, where this happened. He won't have to face any legal consequences for his actions.
Why should victims have a time limit on getting justice? Why should any victim be expected to report their experience in a specific time frame? We know it can take years for victims to acknowledge they're victims. We know it can take even longer for victims to feel comfortable reporting what happened to them, especially when this happened whilst they were a child. This law benefits one group of people only. It benefits perpetrators. It tells them that if you can just keep your victim quiet for this number of years, you're legally in the clear because in the eyes of the law, this never happened. You won't face prison time.
This applies regardless of the strength of the case and Tana has a pretty strong case. She has a witness to the early stages of her assault who is on record telling others about this years ago, without naming names. I'm betting there are other witnesses from the party who remember what happened. Combined with evidence from direct messages over the years, I think it's pretty incontrovertible. If the law was different, she could get a prosecution.

I like that we are having such a big conversation regarding the "types" of women we care about & protect in society. I found it fascinating hearing about the vast disparity regarding police treatment when I was doing my DV group counseling. I am honestly glad I was never exposed to such direct comparison in regard to my smegsual harm incidents bc I don't think that I could take it. But for DV I did the group for when I was assaulted to the face with a sledgehammer, arrested & refused medical assistance for over 3 hours. It will be 5 years in December & I still get 4 migraines with vomiting every single week. Most wāhine in my group had similar experiences, or horrible treatment by social services. But the pākehā girls from the right side of town in the right kind of profession came out of their situation loving the police & it was beyond frustrating hearing how very very very differently they were treated & protected 😐... anyway- Tana is rich, blonde & skinny, & still not worth anything in a lot of people's vocal opinions, because she has done smegs work & comes from an abusive home. Can you imagine what Māori go through? Anyway- I'm glad it's being discussed

I’m an adult now (19) and I wouldn’t even talk to a 16/17 yr old who isn’t a family member. I can’t imagine a 25 yr old thinking it’s appropriate to hang out let alone have s3x (which is r@pe) with a 17 yr old.

She posted another statement the next day saying she loves him more than herself, just tryna hold him accountable so he knows his actions are wrong, leaving would be the easy way, he’s getting help.,, the amount of victim blaming in this very dangerous situation is sickening. I wish more people knew about the cycle of abuse and DV, especially cuz it’s scarily common. People are saying it’s her karma. She acted out as a child because she had an extremely rough upbringing, despite how she was portrayed. Yeah, really makes my blood boil.

I was horrified by the community's treatment of Tana since the very start, because it was hypocrisy. She said the nword, so did every top RUclipsr at the time, but she was the one getting dragged. She lied in her story times? Wow, a 16yo lying to look cool, no way, never before seen anomaly. All that simultaneously with her more popular peers exploiting her for views, sometimes with inappropriate behaviour. Looking at idubz (who gave him the authority to police other people's content? Shaming content clearly not made for him just bc a teenage girl dared to do something online. And it was about that, make no mistake. All the problematic stuff he dug up was solely to reinforce that point, not the other way around) and Shane Dawson especially. I never liked her as a creator, but the piling behaviour against a teenage girl was upsetting to watch. You could tell her environment is toxic and she's affected and trying to put on a tough front. And regarding TanaCon? Whack, but its was hilariously exploitative for VidCon to have her face on a billboard at the hotel facade and not invite her as a featured creator at the same time. Like. What.

What I haven't heard is Tana lying about other people. She made stories for entertainment purposes like every TV show except documentaries and the news. I haven't heard anyone acknowledge that Tanacon was actually planned by an actual event planner that just sucked at his job and that a 19 year old RUclipsr obviously wouldn't understand that he was screwing it up. I don't think she ever intended for people to take her RUclips shenanigans seriously, because you shouldn't take any content like that seriously because it's entertainment. If you thought her storytimes were serious I have some bad news about SpongeBob, he's not real. She was a kid who was alone and without anyone to take care of her. She was vulnerable and surrounded by vultures. I'm sure there were plenty of people that took advantage of her and did bad things to her I guess Cody can sleep at night knowing that he wasn't the worst or only one. He can also be comforted by the fact that there won't be justice for her legally speaking.

I do understand your point. The thing is, the people who have raised this question, in the end, what they really want?
I mean, do they want Cody Ko to be legally held in court and spent some time in jail if all of this proven true and he is criminally indicted, or what would be other option for this if the court does not necessarily make him serve time in jail?
In the first option, people would be satisfied, but my problem with the first option, is that technically, this would not make the world a better place, generally speaking.
My suggestion would be for Cody Ko to formally and by his own will, pay a load of money for any serious charity organization in order to redeem itself from this allegedly crime. Because, let's say, a million dollar in cash would certainly turn the lives of some people in desperate need around, one million dollars have the potential to change some lives, and with this one i would feel satisfied.
I noticed that on your video, you do believe that man always seems to get away because their voice is a maxim for all of this, i get it, but what if i told you that the current "sexual culture" of the USA quite often put millions of men (and especially teenagers) in high risk of doing something unacceptable like Cody Ko did?
Let me give you an example. In USA, it seems that the general culture supports pornography to a great extent. In this perspective, these adult-tech-companies are allowed to do whatever extravagant film they want, and they often produce hardcore material and especially material focusing on the fact that their female performers have 18 years old. In this scenario, what you have is tens of millions of adult films exploring 18 year old girls by the fact that, (((maybe))), their natural beauty is """"""worth"""""" of being capitalized on. So when you have tens of millions of Americans watching these types of adult films, what is the likelihood that they will feel entitled to try the same in real life? As these adult films messes up with our inner-cores, how they feel seen all of this?
I would say that many of these men would feel the urge to go after 18 year old girls, so in this scenario, of course, many would be finding barely legal girls to date all the time. In my honest opinion, i find this extremely concerning, but i don't see that many RUclipsrs arguing against these practices within the adult industry, maybe because they know that many of these companies are accused of human-trafficking and related criminal activity (especially SA). So what i do see, is that Americans want to promote social justice, but don't have that much courage to go right where the problem arise. High-speed internet access to all of this hardcore material is essentially desensitizing man, and i find this disturbing to be completely honest with you.
The thing is, IMO, i do believe that pornography causes more harm to the Heterosexual male community than good, but this is just my opinion, but, have you considered what these industries are doing to teenagers who allegedly have easy access to this (((very-concerning))) world? Have you go through reddit and saw many, many teenagers asking for help in dealing with their pornography addiction? Have you ever thought about how adult male predators are made? I guess they don't learn these evil thoughts by looking at stones or trees on the street. THINK ABOUT IT.
Myself, by unfortunately having gone through the same pain these kids are going through in this weird and explicit web, i know very well what's going on. As i already explained to you a little bit.
So think again, what may have caused Cody to be so desensitized that day? What possibly had also convinced 17 year old Tana to have allowed to such awful and painful experience?
Remember that, different than what you have spoken on your video, i do not hold Tana accountable in any shape or form, if she was a victim of a truly disgraceful and traumatizing experience, i want the court to prompt the justice as soon as possible.
Sorry for any grammatical errors, English is not my native language.

I’m glad we’re denormalizing romantic and sexual relationships between 15-17 year old and 25-30 year olds. Hopefully this continues with the end of romantic storylines in tv shows and movies between these ages, and the end of sexual scenes with adult actors playing minors (one reason I’ve never watched euphoria). I’d prefer if we had an age group like in Sims for young adults. 18-25 year olds can only go up or down three years (not overriding existing laws that prevent 18 year olds from being with 15 year olds).
