I've just bought a Mecool and love it. I'd question whether that is runnning Android TV OS 13 as it looks NOTHING like TV OS. To me its 'their' version of TV OS which is a vanilla Android and they've just called it TV OS. TV OS would do 4K Netflix too

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, for a mate, it’s crap, problems with WiFi . You could get Bluetooth keyboard but better investing in onn box , although lower rom, works quick
Yep, I got one too and the wifi is sh*t, less than 2mbs 10ft from the router on a 500mbs connection. I bought this on the recommendation of another You Tube reviewer who gave a glowing report and I'm beginning to wonder if he ever even saw the thing.

I chucked the generic chinese boxes due to potential malware. Went with a fire stick and after 2 years I got a chromecast with google tv

Everything is not just about youtube videos and games.
I had a hard disk win could not get user access to, no matter what I did.
(x96 air) was my salvation! It gave me full access to the hard drive!
You can also use it for a music player if you don't want to leave your computer on all day.
You need a walmart onn google tv box to try. Doesn't anyone import tech from the USA in England?
By the time you've added delivery cost/duties etc the ONN box is around $60.
There's a new ONN 4K PRO box about to be released so watch this space if you're going down that route. I knew someone who visited the US last year and picked up 2 4K ONN boxes for me. My only regret is I wished I asked for more.
You may want to run a virus scan. Linus said that boxes like this may have malware.
Andriod tv sticks are the way to go now(poormans Firestick) $20 on aliexpress

Can't some type of Virus Protection or Malware bytes Anti Malware be run on those boxes everyone is suspicious of. Getting rid of apps you don't like might be good as well

also, some androids don't allow itvx and other channels like bbc
Sideload it from a 3rd party site also use a VPN even in the UK.
@@lablackzed that won't make any difference if the app isn't supported by the device. You'll get the app installed but it won't work. Even the ONN box doesn't support most main UK streaming apps.
@@ViN-kr3ri Wrong I have ITVx running on two of my boxes A Gt king and a Onn and I don't live in the UK I use a VPN on another box I even installed ,BBC and Five catch up I think what stop the installation is your Internet provider this is why you use a VPN to mask from the provider.

When someone tests and makes a youtube video about an android tv box and streaming box, then it is important to focus on gpu, cpu and cooling. Also open it up to see inside.
Almost all of this type of box has a poor cooling solution and has a weak cpu, gpu and other things.
My (x96 air) android tv box has rubbish coolers that are made so wrongly and badly. The CPU is mounted on the underside in an almost airtight box
which is a common way to do it. The perfect solution for overheating.

@@nielbrookes1890 probably made in china (what isn't lol) when I meant dodgy chinese boxes I meant unofficial android boxes with mobile phone operating system built in. Back in the days there was plenty about probably still is but I think people have moved onto better boxes with official Google TV. Mecool, Nokia, shield, ONN, fire TV etc
Lol yeah paying for the shit is way easier than trusting one of these boxes. I used one one time years ago and it was such a pain in the ass. I went to Roku Firestick and Apple TV for everything screw it. I’ve got money. I’ll just pay for it.

Don't buy this box it's a load of crap I purchased the 64g version and just one of the things that didn't work was the pre-installed Google play even though I signed in to my Google account it just doesn't do nothing as you would say adam it's dog shit all round! (boom) 😢
