I like to review devices straight out the box as they are intended.... For streaming. It could be easier using other remotes or not showing how things unfold in real time, but I like to be do things from a users perspective and show you how things pan out with an honest opinion 🍻

you didn't give a HONEST opinion or a real test, my suggestions do NOT require modification and are NOT expensive, you can buy cat5e for a dollar here if you don't already have plenty laying around.
Besides if its not handling the 8k video even with a LAN cable then it likely never would. You were able to have it handle 4k, that's still a lot more than many other boxes would do. And besides a user WOULD find its option to check for updates as soon as it was out of the box and online. So that WOULD be realistic.
@@patg108 it's his opinion so how can you say its not honest? How could you possibly know that? Freetech uses loads of streaming devices and in his opinion compared to other cheaper options or options of a similar price this is poor quality, they can't even spell hotspot or memory correctly 🤣
When choosing a android TV box do you look at the chip instead and is there any you would recommend or avoid... I always heard that Rockchip is one of the worst?

Had a great laugh at your outtakes bloopers. No don't think I'll buy this one but what is a good price new Android box these days? My M9s Pro is very slow now need a new one.
I have had a few boxes myself and find them ok but not great. The remotes are ok but I have to press the mouse button to change the pointer to move the screen. The pointer moves off screen and you have to press it till it comes back. Some boxes have problem with memory as well. I do like the access to the mobile style app store and prefer it what you find on a Chromecast and Firestick. I also find that certain apps like Netflix cannot be accessed by the home screen.
I've got one,only use it for iptv and other tv apps. Times things freeze up or buffer that I shouldn't get on iptv subscriptions, so don't know what causes it.
I bought a few of these boxes from eBay and Wish and they are just ok, not great. The layout is good and I like how you have access to the Play store, but you have to keep changing the mouse pointer, so you can move the screen, and sometimes the pointer goes of the screen and have to keep pressing the button till it comes back. The memory is not as good as they state and I soon find I’m running out of space. The remotes work ok. I have problems accessing apps like Netflix from the Home Screen but most work fine. I’m not going to buy any more and stick with what I got.
I've been trying to connect a USB encoder to this H96 box. But when I do the board lights up red the LEDs light up on the buttons. But I can't get the buttons to do anything. What do you think may be the causing this
I always get good info and a good laugh at your videos but that was hilarious, no plug, unpaired remote, hotpot 🤣 and momery 🤦♂️ and nearly $80 🤣 il stick with the fire stick lol. Keep up the gd work m8 🍻

Even though the box specs are good usually the remote is crap or you can’t navigate which destroys the whole experience. Have had several of these, You turned it into a funny video though lol👍

I had two H96 Max and both would work for a bit then do all kinds of strange things. Like Factory reset for no reason. Both are unable to work now. Got a Nivida Shield with Kodi. Worth every penny.

Question mate I'm using a cube as my main tv box but after selling my xbox before her indoors wanted this fancy floating unit bollocks so to big. Question is do I replace it with the new nvidea shield Pro so I can have all my tv shit and play a few games now and then? Cheers
If you are looking to do some gaming as well as streaming, the Shield is a very good option bud 🍻
@@FreeTech yeah it's not as of I'm a gamer just like to play now and again. Got that stadia but what a faff on and it was dogshit so I think Nvidia is the way forward. My old Nvidia got stolen by the daughter so it's an excuse to get the new one! Take car biddy

My one question is BBC I player doesn't work on this device unless Ur using it from Google play store.
I'm stuck I don't know when it install from Ur site it Installs but won't open so I cany use it on this device.

Yes, a buddy bought one off eBay .... I helped set him up and it was shocking on every aspect. Picture was shocking for a start. Don't believe the specs either. 8gb ? Played up more than a 1gb box. Fortunately, he got a full refund .....

I bought 3 of These android boxes There just don't Get the adds I want I bought the 3 boxes in 2021 And the Google play store only gets apps from 2019 And the remote does not come with batteries Maybe that's why the remote is not Working I spent over an 150 pound on the 3 boxes and None of them gets Apps from 2022

The only possible reason to buy this box is that it is powerful enough to interpolate 1080p/24Hz to 60Hz in SVP on the fly. Yet the interpolation quality is not as good as what even year-old RIFE models generate. Probably Orange Pi 5 Plus would be a better choice at this price and with the same SoC (which is still the most powerful ARM option on the market). At least it is much better customizable, has decent Android TV options and a sort of community. An intermediate PC with something like RTX 4090 can be used with it to interpolate/upscale all incoming video streams with new RIFE models. It can be done either with stream redirection or via HDMI-in board (AFR/auto resolution need to be enabled on the box for it to work).
Not even 4 minutes in and this is getting funny.. Come on Adam, you’re not THAT young.. my mum n grandma used to do stew with sliced potatoes on top.. HOTPOT 😊👍

As being somebody that's worked in an electrical store in the past and into VFX, I wouldn't waste your money or time on ever buying a 8K TV or product that says 8K at least not for another 10+ years at least...
There just isn't enough content to warrant such an upgrade, most films are shot in 4K format, whilst some films have been shot in 8K, visual effects are normally done in 2K, due to time and space, not feasible to do it in 6K-8K.
99% of TV stations won't be making the move to 8K, many haven't even moved to 4K yet and never will. Only certain sport events football matches, but the costs and bitrates of 8K would be huge and massively too expensive..
Some great info. I see 8K as a selling point more than an actual feature. I'm still more than happy watching content in 1080p 🍻
@@FreeTech Sorry for the late reply, yeah I mean it's crazy I worked in the store for a year, and the pricing just comes down quite a lot in such a short period of time.
I mean you can get a 65inch 8K tv from Currys for about £2,799 but you can shed easily 2 grand off the price. Going for a 75 inch 4K TV model...
Some films look great in 4K, and there is a noticeable difference in picture quality, but like yourself I can quite happily watch content in 1080p.
I got one of these of eBay the 4k version it's probably the worst box ever made unfortunately I ran out of time to send it back

I have the 2017 alfawise H96+, Pro,it was the rage at the time so I bought it, was fine for 2wks then it's Shitty little brain can't cope with cached data or multi tasking and would just reboot it's self, and on a bad day it would reboot,15 second's later it would flash pink then freeze,then it needs rebooting a few times,forget switching off on demand might not come back on first time,but I tried something new as I had a gut full,I went to the service menu on bootloader menu, wiped cached partition and since then worked Much better, wouldn't advise my model to anyone

It all depends on the main uses, budget, etc bud. I would recommend getting an official streaming device like the Firestick, Cute, Chromecast, KM2, etc.

I got a H96 a couple of years ago when you said it was OK. It's so basic but worked OK fit the money (it was about £25). They've obviously not improved on the new models. Shame.

I have tested this android before and found it very bad comparing with fire stick and nvidia shield.
It can not open many main apk's like ESPN.....
so I re sold it and never I will buy any other Chinese productd
I bought it and sold the next day.... But you're WRONG It Comes With the Power Supply..and I never had any issue with the Remote. I sold iti 'couse didn't like the CPU !
That's why I said I'm not 100% sure what happened to the plug and could be my bad. But the remote wasn't paired for me and I have to give an honest realtime review bud, this box is dog shite 😂

I've got a h96 pro the round one and it's been bulletproof for the last couple of years .I bought the new firestick 4k max at Christmas and picture quality on the firestick was nowhere near as good or as colourful as the h96 that I'm continuing to use . Obviously this newer version is full of problems that I think we should all steer clear of
