I'm a licensed architect but I'm currently employed as one of the Designers in an Interior Design company, I am finally able to see the difference between the two too, I appreciate the sense of humility being taught and guided in Interior Design regardless of my architecture experience, and I've also finally made up my mind that whenever I am offered a project I have to make clarifications with the client because I used to overwork, still do though, like I'm only paid for my architecture design but I do both architectural and interior design works. Crazy, that I only realize all these today. 😄
That was well explained. I too enjoy seeing the projects come to life in the real world. Hope you have a great future ahead of you in this field. God bless :o)
I was thinking of becoming an interior architecture but after seeing this video I see to become an interior designer, thank you for explaining and I hope I can do it because people around me say it’s hard and stuff like trying to change my mind but as I was a kid I’ve always loved to build and decorate houses on games, and my mother trying to make me work in an office where I do my internship but it’s so boring to me and I don’t like it at all. I will try and try to do my best because it’s hard for me to feel motivated over doing something I really need to do something
Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is being an interior architect like, and what exactly is it (compared to interior design and architecture)? I wanted to change degrees as my university offers a bachelor honours degree in interior architecture but when doing my research, there are still many that confuse it with interior design or simply don’t describe it in much detail.
@@BebilinaGlearI’m currently in high school but am to a point where I need to start choosing a profession and I’m planning on going to collage for general architecture but then will choose either design or architecture. I haven’t really had anybody to talk to about this so does that make sense and is that what most people do or did what I just said make no sense?
i studied a little bit of architechture in highschool but it sounded like a really long career, i really like architecture. i think i want to get into interior desing. sounds like a good career. Thanks for the information.
There's also a blend of the two which is interior architecture which I'm (hopefully) going to be studying next year. Disclaimer: you AREN'T a qualified architect if you do interior architecture, (you are a qualified interior designer), but it crosses more into architecture than interior design does.
Hi, I’m at a stage where I should make choice between architecture or interior designer But I’m still confused between them ☹️ I’ve tried sketching some designs in software revit architecture but looking through design I’m not able to identify which fits me best🤔
The best way is to learn about both careers is listening to people that have studied and worked in those fields. In this channel I focus about interior design but if you want some really good insight about architecture I would recommend you watch damilee on RUclips. And also remember that although both careers are different, they can also overlap and and architect can specialize in interiors down the line, and also interior designers can get masters in architecture.
Thanks Andrea for your reply😍 It will actually be Helpful for me to make a correct decision on my career if you could share your thoughts experiences Actually I’m glad I saw your video while scrolling…
I’m following damilee too … I actually get the point what you all are trying to communicate… Is it possible for an architect to get masters in interior designing
I have only heard of the Masters in Interior Architecture, maybe some schools offer the masters in interior design. Since interior design is a relatively new career, not all universities offer the same programs, so you need to double check with the university. Where I studied the highest level was a Bachelor in Interior Design and the next level is a Master in Architecture.
i am still so confused, ive watched countless upon countless of videos, read numerous of comments about how disappointed people are with this occupation because of the low salaries and intense work hours yet then still i watch this video and here how important the job is and they're still underpaid?
🥲🥲 I know, the career is underpaid in many cases, reality is that unless you have a lot of experience you may feel like it’s too much work for the pay sometimes
@@aandreatru then they should get paid more, it’s an i judging that architects such a respected profession is getting sometimes minimum pay for the same hours that people put in for work
After 10th which stream we have to choose to be an interior designer?... Is it compulsory to have science stream?... Which country is best for interior design courses?... If we wanna to get admission at scholarship in interior design school... is it possible?... At which percentage in 12th we get scholarship?... I'm confused... Please help me... 🤨😩🧐🤪😵😅
No specific stream for interior design. Plus work on your drawing skill coz arch and interior schools mostly take drain test and prefer prior drawing portfolio. So yah. In case of arch you must study maths with any other subject combination but maths is compulsory
Hello, Andrea After wathing the video, I wonder does interior design equal to interior renovation. And does interior design include plumbing, or plumbing is the job of plumbers. Thanks you ☺️
Hi, yes, interior designers renovate interior spaces so we call it “an interior renovation”. Plumbing is not the job of designers, we hire plumbers for our projects. I hope that helps✨
Hii ! I really need your opinion about the difference or if there are really differences between interior design and interior architecture? Thank you !
Ana archetecture is responsible for the structural components and some esthetics. I don't know the percentage or details. There is also construction engineering, which focuses on structural and the building process such as estimating or being a general contractor.
It really depends on the structure. If there are no issues or anything needing major restoration, then an interior designer would be better for the job. If the building has parts that need reinforcement, or any other structural change, then an architect would have to get involved. (I'm not a professional this is only information I have learnt from personal research)
Hi I’m not sure what to pick between architecture and Interior architecture do you know the difference? And if it would include more interior design or architecture
Thanks for this inspirational video, i am learning architecture in university. On my break i am thinking to learn interior design. Is it helpful to learn interior design or do you suggest other relating courses related to architecture? I asked this because i am confused what to choose to learn that can support me on my field of study.
Hi, yes interior design would definitely help you, but only if you want to work in this field, if architecture is all you want to do, you may want to take courses related to architecture instead, our design process is very different than architects’ design process, so you will learn things from different perspective, but if you are interested, you will enjoy the learning.
Sorry that comparison pic of skyscrapers skyline as architecture, and shot of exterior of a single residential building really is a false comparison- as they are both architecture. Interior design is part of architecture. Usually architects would take this part over if project is a smaller scale - for ex,a single res. But for anything bigger, they usually send it out to interior team. But most decisions they make, has to be in line with the overall aspect of the project. Architects not only work on the building as a designer but needs to check all things coming from the engineers, the city, and the interior team. So overall, interior design is part of the architecture design in most architecture projects- which is centrally managed and is approved by architects as they are liable.
I would say both of them are hard and challenging in their own way. But for architecture you need to learn more things than for interior design, and more years of schooling.
I made a video on laptops you can check it here: How to Choose A Laptop for Interior Design | Best Laptops for Design and Architecture ruclips.net/video/aNHpKd9u5nc/видео.html
Hiii, it’s a career that is very creative but at the same time very technical. Attention to detail is super important and good precision in your work. I would recommend you learn how to sketch and learn the computer programs really well, these two skills will set you for success. Good luck!!
Most of them know how to design interiors, but only few archutects actually design interiors, typically they will team up with interior designers to finish up a project that requires both interior and exterior.
You chose it because it is the lesser, and this easier, profession. Be honest. Your a specialized consultant to the architect. You choose materials and furniture. Architects do not resign from the outside in. We design everything. You just help.
That depends where you live. In my city there is no school that offers a master in interior design, only architecture. You also want to check at the admission requirements because as far as I have been told you need to have some basic knowledge in software in some universities in order to be elegible.
