He talked about owing his life to Diamond Dallas Page a lot. And talked about how a lot of other workers owed their lives to him, too. DDP really did save his life, and he was grateful for it. My name is Dave Dwinell and I was the ref in the main event on the PPV video Heroes of Wrestling . I was really taken aback by your comments concerning myself. It is a common adage in old school wrestling that a good ref can save a bad match and a bad ref can kill a good match. I do not know of any ref that could have saved the three matches I worked that evening. In the Steele match the people were falling asleep so I decided to try and give the face some heat to possibly arouse the crowd. Did not work. Also, the use of a foreign object or chair in front of the ref by a wrestler should never happen, but since DQ was not the intended finish my hands were tied. During my 32 year career as a ref working well over a thousand matches, including such wrestlers as Bruno Sammartino, Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Superstar Graham, Bob Backlund, Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Dusty Rhodes, Ultimate Warrior and Triple H first match in Madison Square Garden I never entered the ring without a finish until that evening. At one point in the match, I asked my friend Bundy to throw me out of the ring, and I would pretend to be hurt and let some other ref deal with it. That is when Bundy pushed over Jake and told me to count to three. I recently published a book called Ringman my 32 years in the surreal world of pro wrestling. It received a glowing review from Slam wrestling in Canada. When not being tossed from the ring evenings and weekends, during the day I collected the taxes of good friends Freddie Blassie, Arnie Skaaland, and the parent's of Paul Heyman. Not bad for "the worst ref ever.? Just as an aside, have you seen every ref.?

Excellent upload of one of the Worst PPVs of all, time! ) I remember reading about it on Meltzers Observer.... now I finally got to see it🙂
Yes ,I said ONE of the worst , as since I was born and raised in Southern California, I had the pleasure
9f seeing Herb Abrams UWF programs. ( the first 4 tapings if my memory is correct) . Yeah, Herb had Cactus Jack, Steve Williams , Terry Gordy and Paul Orndorff to name a few... yet also had Billy Jack Haynes, Sunny Beach , Johnny Ace and Sid Vicious( WHY?)
The Blackjack Brawl was absolutely horrific and I still think it remains on top as the worst.
Maybe watching this again will clear my mind..

At least those guys could move. At least nobody inside the ring was intoxicated. At least they could do moves (yes, even Sid, he can do like three moves including shouting "WHO'S THE MAN", but that's, like, three more than Sheiky could in 1999)

PS: biologists, scientists, doctors aka people who know what they're talking about acknowledge that trans people exist. Have always existed. Will always exist. Cope and deal with it snowflake and tell me how taking away healthcare from trans adults or wanting to ban sodomy again is "Small government." Go on and explain that to me as a queer women with trans friends. Go on mate. I'll wait.

Lol is it small government when they ban abortion or try to ban gay marriage or trans healthcare? Lololol obviously priv cishet white male is obvious. P.S.
