MONSTER RIPPER: Joshi's First Great Monster Heel
Before Dump Matsumoto, before Aja Kong...there was Rhonda Singh, the Monster Ripper. She came from Canada in the late 1970's to destroy all before her, becoming Joshi's first truly all-powerful monster. Unfortunately, 1995 WWF turned her into a bit of a joke. Enjoy this look back at one of Joshi's most important figures.

I wonder what she’d think if she got to see what women’s wrestling has become in the last decade or so, especially in WWE/NXT. I’d like to think she’d be very happy and proud to see how it’s grown and evolved. Heck, I can imagine if she came along today, she’d be a top star, right up there with Charlotte, Bianca, and Rhea.

I would just like to point out the fact that it is a natural progression and evolution and pro wrestling that what was one guy's finisher will eventually become another guy's move in his set. It happened with Jake Roberts and the DDT, Buddy Rogers and the figure 4, diamond Dallas Page and The diamond cutter, and last but not least Petey Williams and the Canadian destroyer. It's just a natural fact of wrestling. So people using the burning Hammer isn't a real surprise.

3:22 "Zainichi Koreans faced a lot of discrimination in Japan" is what is called political correctness. And because of this political correctness, Koreans have used Japan as their ATM machine after WW2. The United States also tried to suppress Japan's national power through this political correctness. Since ancient times, Japan has been a law-ruled nation that values morality, so most administrative documents have been preserved. Therefore, if you investigate them, you will be able to find out whether the discrimination actually occurred, as if you had traveled back in time in a time machine. Anyone making documentaries must use this time machine, I believe. I don't want the world make my country become their ATM any more. Thank you for reading.

The slam into the steps by Saturn on Mike Bell doesn't look all that dangerous. The toss to the outside was reckless, but if he'd wanted to injure the guy or just inflict pain he could've done a million things he could've done as opposed to protecting him on the stair spot

Continuing a match with a detached retina risks permanent vision loss in the affected eye. I have an eye issue that has similar symptoms to retinal detachment and when I called in to ask the doctor on call about the sympoms, they told me to immediately come to their office for an exam in the middle of the night on a Sunday. They didn't tell me it was okay to stop for a street brawl along the way.

I made the decision to watch the event before this review and I gotta tell you, as amazing as the main event was, the match that left me breathless was the one between Hokuto Akira and Kandori Shinobu. I’m not a mark for gruesome matches, but those two looked like they had battled to the very bitter end! At the end of that match Akira looked like she’d lost anywhere from a quart to a half gallon of blood! It was violent, it was brutal, every time I watched them kick out move after move after move I kept thinking to myself “What the hell is it going to take to keep the shoulders down?!!” When the 3 was finally counted I felt like I’d just seen a real fight, that has never happened to me before in a lot of years watching wrestling. Edit: On my second watch through I was practically tuning out the Japanese commentary and hearing Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura in my head. "GOOD GAWD ALMIGHTY! What in the HELL is is going to take to END this thing?!" "I don't know how, I mean they've given eachother 3 or 4 moves right now that would have beaten any average man." "What is going through their MINDS?! What is going through their SOULS?!"

Sad that AJW didnt change their retirement age, evolve and ended up folding…. Obviously the competition wouldnt give them advice but i wish they took some… it reminds me of the awa….i loved them but they just didnt evolve fast enough with the marketing and tv and it allowed wwf to just keep running wild along with their heated competition with wcw. Awa created some of the biggest stars.
