  • Finally-powder day! After days of skiing on brutal ice, Alpental was blanketed with fresh snow, creating the perfect playground for deep turns and big adventures.
I decided to face my fear from the previous day, returning to the steep, tree-lined section of Felsen where I had previously gotten stuck. This time, I embraced the challenge, not only skiing the slope confidently but also tackling a difficult, narrow line between the trees. The deep powder turned it into an exhilarating and rewarding experience!
The day wasn’t without its comical moments-at one point, I completely misjudged a jump and found myself flying belly-up, only to land flat on my back in soft, forgiving snow. Meanwhile, a snowboarder trusted my pathfinding skills and followed me down, turning this into an unexpected shared adventure.
It was my first time skiing with my new skiing AI gizmo - Carv 2. I have two sensors attached to my boots on the outside, and my phone is running an app that analyzes my skiing in real time and gives me feedback. That's what I called "my AI overlord".
There was just one problem-the snow made driving an absolute nightmare! My car slid sideways uncontrollably, and only my slow speed (and a lot of luck) kept me from crashing. Even on I-90, traffic crawled at 5-10 MPH as cars struggled to stay on the road.
    Skiing in heavy snowfall? Amazing.
    Driving in heavy snowfall? Terrifying.
Thankfully, I made it home safely, wrapping up an unforgettable day of powder, adventure, laughter, and white-knuckle driving.
