When I was a kid, I used to have a VHS of "Scooby-Doo meets Batman and Robin". That was my first exposure to the Olan Soule and Casey Kasem incarnations. It wasn't until I saw and rented a VHS of this animated series, I was amazed to hear those voices coming from this incarnation having heard them in "The New Scooby Movies". Its an interesting installment to the evolution of Batman in media. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on "The New Adventures of Batman" which actually featured Adam West and Burt Ward. Also on a side note, that "Bat-Gyro" didn't appear in the live-action series. You must be confusing it for the go-cart that would disengage from the "Bat-Cycle" from the 1966 movie.
The late great Ted Knight from the MARY TYLER MOORE ("Ted Baxter") did contribute some of the the villains' voices. THANKS for being fair showing good and bad points
I rented both Batman and Superman cartoons and pretty much enjoyed them both. I remember seeing The New Adventures of Superman in reruns on WGN TV where i live. It's an independent channel.
Superman premiered on CBS in the fall of 1966. The following year, Filmation made The Superman-Aquaman Hour of Adventure. The Superman and Aquaman segments were mixed up during the show, along with Superboy, and a revolving set of characters that had one segment in each show (The Flash, Wonder Woman, The Atom, Green Lantern, etc.). Then the following fall, after ABC cancelled the live-action Batman, Filmation made The Batman-Superman Hour. Again, the segments were mixed up between Batman, Superman, and Superboy.
@@dalethelander3781 You may be right , sometimes Wonder Girl was W.W. in another form and other times she was Diana's sister. The original Teen Titans segments didn't explain which W.G.it was. W.W. did appear in a Brady Kids episode.
Not only does the Mad Hatter look different from the comics, but they even give him the possible real name of Chapeau Fedora when he was already known as Jervis Tetch. It's also worth noting that in the first Scarecrow comic he does use fear, trying to intimidate people, and in his third he already had the fear toxin, so I don't think the people who wrote for this show, or the people in charge of character designs really read the comics that much.
I find it neat that this show actually had its own depiction of scarecrow i obviously enjoy the fear theme for him but they probably thought a fear theme was too much so i enjoy that they did something different and made him farm themed (although if that was ever a comic I would hate it)
That into kills my eyes everytime but its totally worth it! lol Did you see Warner remastered the Batman (1989), Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin in 4k? I think those come out in September.
The thing about the silver age and all its adaptations is how the heck do the villains have all this elaborate stuff all these vehicles and over the top tech
Tim burton must’ve watched this before making the ‘89 movie. The joker sings “...there’ll be a hot time in the old town tonight.” In both. Also in returns, penguin steps on his umbrella handle and helicopters up....(I thought that was really cringe in returns but that’s just me)
I had this show on dvd when i was I think 8 and loved it never got riddlers speech pattern though looking back it is a pretty good cartoon iteration of the silver age of batman comics just like super friends
The find it weird that jokers color scheme in this show for his base his henchmen his car is yellow and red and not green and purple (btw sorry for commenting so Much this show is just something i loved when i was younger and have alot to say about it)
With all due respect, your chronology is a little off. The New Adventures of Superman premiered in September 1966, not 1967. In 1967, Aquaman was added along with other DC characters like The Flash, Green Lantern, The Atom and The Justice League and the show became the Superman-Aquaman Hour of Adventure. By 1968, the show's third season, Filmation had finally gotten the rights to the Caped Crusader and the show became The Batman-Superman Hour. In 1969, the Saturday morning superhero shows were pretty much purged due to complaints from parent groups about violence. Batman and Robin became its own half-hour show, which aired on CBS on Sunday mornings. Aquaman also became its own half-hour show which aired in syndication. Episodes from all of the above are available here on RUclips. Hope this helps.
Okay, just skimmed an episode guide. There was indeed a vigilante called "The Judge" in one episode, but it was a different character than the one in this series. Might have been a nod to this.
The judge in Batman TAS was killing criminals, he was a vigilante. The Judge in the 1968 series was trying to capture/stop crimefighters to build his own criminal empire. Same name, different characters.
I will not be doing that, as it would be a violation of copyright. I have included an amazon link in the description if you would like to buy the cartoon for your collection.
🎵 "She wasn't much good at stickin' around, but Batgirl could sing..." 🎵
(With apologies to Jackson Browne.)
This show had a wonderful theme song, especially for the closing credits!

Yay so we are gonna get a bunch of Batman shows/movie reviews nice got something to watch on break now
It's this cartoon that got me into Batman watching repeats in the early 1970s in Latin America.
9:37 that shot of Mr. Freeze has MEMES written all over it XD

Wonder Woman was not in the Aquaman segment. Wonder Girl was in that show as a member of the original Teen Titans.

Got this on dvd
I like the catwoman with Orange costume and red hair.
Batman having no pants happens in the Scooby Doo episode as well.

DC turn Catwoman green in 1967 but the look only lasted a couple of years
Bat Gyros?! Man I sure could go for one of those right about now! mmm
11:59 I believe this could be the DC version of Me and the Boys.
To bad they didn't bring in King Tut or the book worm .

Yep. The covers are horrible for those. But I might grab them for the upgrade at some point.
@@zaranyzerak Couldn't agree with you more. I kinda wish they used the original covers or at least something more interesting

There is a pantless Batman frame in Scooby-Doo too.

Looks like Warner Bros. will give this show a Blu-ray release.
No pants Batman needs a spinoff
I actually never saw this show just episode 1 online but heard this is getting Blu-ray this year in 2023

Nice! Thanks for the detailed breakdown of Filmation's superhero shows, I really appreciate the info!
Is there somewhere you can watch these shows online?
The original Teen Titans were in the Filmation Aquaman segment as well.
So all this time Robin was just yoo lazy to put on his pants.
Any idea where i can download the series or watch them online ?
Apparently a Blu-ray release from WB is coming.
13:33 The Judge was actually in The New Batman Adventures, and was a lot more intimidating by comparison.
Not the same character, just the same name. Their motivations were completely different.
@@zaranyzerak That seems to be a reoccurring element for modernized Batman villains.
I loved the 60's Superman and Batman cartoons as a kid. I had couple of random episodes of both shows on random blank VHS tapes.
what the hell is a skinslip? did i hear him right?
Username of a friend of mine at the time. We did a group watch of the series shortly before I made this video.
Batman with no pants! 🤣
Didn't the judge appear in Batman the animated series season 4
There were 3 seasons of Batman TAS, not 4. If you mean the final season, I don't know. I've only ever watched the original 85 episodes.
