I gave him a rock loaded with Pyrite to show everyone it was Gold, because the Pyrite actually looked like Gold.. He was showing it on April 1st and the best part someone told him, you think I'm a fool, that's not Gold . I got a call from him, I said April fools. Can't wait till he gets back.. Love the videos
I strike it with my hammer . If it smells like satan it's fool's gold . I am just a rock-hound and not a prospector . I think gold is more abundant when quartz is present . The fools gold I mostly find is in shale .
Could u advise me what I could maybe do I found gold it was a missing/ lost gold shipment from civil war it's called the dents run here in pa I found the location but the problem is the goverment is looking for it and I will take that location to my grave before allowing them to take it but I'm not sure where I go from here at first it was just a tiny bit then a little more like a trail of bread crumbs now I believe I'm right on top of it but as I said the FBI !!

Im in Canada Ontario no mines i mainly live in the city there is an iron mine ive heard that goes 2 km under ground and actually have a underground lab. Originally i come from a unceeded indian reserve and recently visiting cause my moms pancking over this virus so she scooped up my daughters now i gotta go there. My point. Ive found natural (well what i believe to be gold. A natural geo stone just siting on top of ground)
Actually iron pyrite can hold up 4 ounces per ton of gold in solid solution. Arsenopyrite is potentially much richer at up to 490 ounces of gold per ton.
I found gold Flake in black sandstone. Is it gold I flaked off some and it stayed gold. I put vinegar on it and it did not change color. Used a magnet did not stick. Rock loaded with it

Incidentally in Oregon they "own all the water ", that covers even mud puddles!

I have pounds of garnet and other beautiful stones. They would dump the "rocks" around the property to make the roads and surrounding area easier to drive on.

I found a 11 troy ounce black gold nugget in central Az...the coating on the outside is pretty thick if gold doesn't tarnish how does it attach itself....is it a bacteria or maganese oxide

Pyrite MAY go with gold, two ways - as an associated mineral nearby or as a solid solution within the pyrite if it's Chalcopyrite.

How do you test if you are working 100 mesh plus's size flakes of gold or flakes of pyrite?
Buy a hand lens, look at crystals or flakes. (Gold) Does it smoosh with a needle or tweezers or does it crush to smaller crystals. (Pyrite)
What if my mineral I want to test is a specimen piece I don’t want to mess up due to scratching. Does this matter...?? Scratch test safe?
Scratch with care in a tiny area that won't show (much) or don't scratch. Good question only you can answer.
