Neil Macaulay "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."
    Detachment. It's so very important.
Even my phone is only £30, cheap but does what I need, it's a tool and not my life.
It doesn't make me upset if it breaks or lost.
Sometimes people mock it as it's not the latest phone model, but it does exactly the same as theirs does... That is fine, their views are their own.
    Take care.

That's beautiful Thank you ! I once took some Lsd and spent the day exploring Warrington Beach in the south Island of New Zealand. I remember so clearly finding the most beautiful rock pools on this beach and possibly the whole world. These rock pools were filled with the most beautiful clear water, amazing reflective sea shells and incredibly multi colored rocks and pebbles. It was in this moment I was taught and or learned or realized that "the kingdom of heaven is within". I also remembered putting both my hand into this rock pool amongst the multi colored sea shells and thinking I want to make this into a meme image that I was indeed the richest man on earth and that all the worlds abundance and riches would never compare to this moment. Sometimes I get a similar experience like recently when I was working on an orchard in the morning during the middle of winter during a hard frost. But as the sun was rising and the ice started to melt that the fruit trees were also covered in Diamonds and that the ground under the fruit trees was also covered in multi colored diamonds. The sun turned the melting ice crystals into dewdrops and within these dew drops when the morning light shined through these dew drops I could see all the colors of the rainbow within these dew drops ( Indra's net of jewels )That morning was no LSD but I do remember having a little cannabis with breakfast as that helped with some aches and pains and did help with motivation to go and work. Always remember the kingdom of heaven is within. No amount of material gain will ever compare to it. The kingdom of heaven is not something you can obtain but rather something you wake up to. Thanks brother love your work keep going ! Your work will inspire the future. The greatest currency on planet earth , is the affect you have on others !

My favorite teachings of all time.
I've come back to the Tao de Ching so many times and every time I find wisdom that is either new or has been forgotten.
It has such a way of reminding me not to get caught up in my own story and beliefs too deeply.
Even the opening lines remind me that whatever story or path I think my life is going down, it just isn't sufficiently described with words or thoughts.
Nothing can be more useful when you are having a hard time.
Just remember, your story isn't your story.
    It never can be.
With that, you can let go and just go with the flow.
With that, you can be one with the Tao

The same effort it takes to be approved by society as successful, which most of the times, leads to more stress and unhappiness, is the same effort we need to cut ourselves off the society's way of approving success, and be free, which will generate everlasting peace and happiness.

I bet a lot of us found this way of life through being broken. I found striving for peace to not be the fix, but the only useful way of living with it and carrying on. Some days that’s more than enough, some days it’s frustrating how little help it seems to be. But we just try again in the next moment. And the next.
Also just thinking, for most human history there weren’t that many “famous” people; maybe some tribe leaders or dukes and perhaps some writers and religious figures, but most everybody was nobody in the same way, and most people had about the same amount of liquid assets at any time. There wasn’t much to buy for most of that time, so people only worked enough to survive. Now…what I’m saying is we’re out of our element Donnie

Sometimes I don't relate with those ambitions. I want to live life on my own terms. I want to have time for myself, my hobbies, exploration of spiritual self.

Depends on the person, some struggle to make ends meet, while being wasteful and seeking a lot of stuff. Things like clothes, shelter (unless you become Diogenes) and having fun are necessities. Some people misunderstand these necessities, instead of the bare minimum they may seek really nice clothes, a really nice house and instead of making good friends or simple reading or playing, they may seek "higher pleasure" which would wear out its welcome. Obviously doesn't apply to everybody

No, we have a sane view of the world the way human monkey brains work. Edit: I wrote a reply for user qc 7 but RUclips deleted it for some reason. But basically, the rich are in fact the ones that have drilled those novelties as necessities in to our heads, so that we'll line their pockets or die trying. A nice house or cloth does the same thing as a normal house or cloth, there isn't really a benefit it's just kind of a waste of energy. Furthermore, if you accustom yourself to these things, when they're not there or you can't get them which will inevitably happen because of the nature of life, you'll feel bad, or forever dissatisfied because you're seeking "better" things, which aren't better anyway, just hyped up.
In order to live a happy life, you need to eliminate pain or worries from your life, which can include toxic people, your broken washing machine, and even desires which cause you to seek things outside of your control (so basically everything outside of your actions), or anger, lack of compassion etc.
You do deserve better, you deserve to be around good people, and you should seek to better yourself, or your skills if you're an artist or something. This will make you happy in the long run.

I also noticed a downside of people always being in a rush : they often choose the short-term solution over the one more beneficial on the long term, dooming themselves to always having to find a new short term solution as the first one inevitably fails beyond its short term viability. They put themselves on a hamster wheel, never truly reaching their goal and always being doomed to keep running to keep that goal within their grasp or, at least, what feels close to their grasp.
