More videos please. I enjoyed watching this. I’ve been in “art something or other” since 1980. I started with oil painting lessons, then water colored a while. I joined the Society of Decorative Painters in 1990 and went to their conventions and became a teacher. I did that at my huge dining room every week for about two years. I then moved to Dallas to take a job. I was sad that I wasn’t into art. I decided to make cards as videos that teach how to make them are all over the internet. I was not warned as to how Much I would spend on die cutting and cards stock and stamps. But the joy it gave me was worth every dime. I am 70 now, live alone in a senior complex and love my apartment. The LR is my craft room. The master BR is a den where the TV and sofa are. My bed is in the other bedroom. I don’t sleep there. I fall asleep on my coloring book in the den where I was watching videos on the TV screen. It’s been a great ride and my goodness how did I go on this long. But I will leave this comment as it is. Someone can perhaps say their life has been “crafty” too. I’ll be back but I won’t talk so much next time. I live in Farmers Branch, TX.
I have a lot of videos on my channel and I will continue to add more! Sounds like you are life long crafter like me! And a fellow Texan! I know where Farmer's Branch is! I live in Kyle, TX. I am so glad that you have found joy in making cards! I do hope that Inspire and help you!
Your comment put a smile on my face! I, too, am wholeheartedly pleased that card crafting has given you joy! (I’m also in my 70’s and thoroughly delight in the completion of a card well made!)
How wonderful!!! You will live many more years because you are keeping your mind active!!!
I'm pretty new to both stamping and die cutting (and embossing) and this was GREAT info for me. Especially my favorite = using dryer sheet or wax paper. Biggest, best, time saver for me. Thanks for the entire video. Loved it.
You are welcome! I’m so glad it was helpful!
I only use parchment paper...I find that dryer sheets and waxed paper leave a residue on my dies that eventually makes them dull.
Loved all of these!! Thank you for the dwnload, Sharon. Always enjoy your videos.
I am so glad you enjoyed them!
Instead of using wax paper with intricate dies, you can repurpose the wax-like sheet that remains when sheets of postage stamps are removed. Works great.
Also parchment paper
Oh that would work too!
I use the parchment paper cut outs similar to items made out of vellum.
I loved this I hope to be able to watch you more, when doo you come on.
Thanks for all the great tips!!! I have an easier time getting my plates through my machine if I layer them staggered; I pull the top plate towards me a little bit. Then my 'sandwich' isn't hitting the tension rollers all at once! 🤗
That's a great idea! I am glad that you have figured out ways to make your die cutting easier! I am glad you enjoyed my tips today!
The die goes through the machine so much easier it you put it on an angle so one part goes though before the rest of the die, it really makes a difference😊love your tips!

A lot of great helpful tips Sharon! With that last tip where you cut 1st and then stamped. Have you tried cutting the image with the die, then fitting the stamp into the hole left by the die. Most of the stamps will slot right in exactly where they fit..Then pick up the stamp with the stamparatus lid. Then replace the piece that needs to be stamped into the hole, ink & stamp. It's almost the same as what you did but only uses one piece of card stock, & is just a bit quicker. It also saves a ton of time if your stamping multiples of the same thing for swaps, or Christmas cards etc
You know I have! But thank you for sharing it here! I am glad you enjoyed the video!
Hello from Waco Tx, I have been looking and looking at stamping and DC but I just did not think I could do it , now seeing this ,Here I go lol , I just love what you did ,Thank you so much
You are so welcome!
I just got my die/emboss machine and these tips will really help!! Flipping the plates, the dryer sheet, the pad under the tiny words as you remove adhesive backing, the lint roller...all great!!
Then I am thrilled that you found this video! I do hope it helps you as you play with your new Emboss/Die cutting machine!
Thank you soooo much Sharon!!! I gotta watch again n take notes so remember all of them 😊

Thanks, most I knew, but the last one was golden!
Happy I could share something new with you!
I like the idea of using a sponge dauber to put glue on back of little die-cut pieces, I was using a glue stick which sometimes ripped the piece or a glue bottle which put too much glue on and oozed out everywhere.
I am glad that you enjoyed my tips! Thank you!
I often end up using my fingers...definitely going to try a sponge instead!
Have you tried microdot tape runners, they only go on the back of the Die where they touch. All you do is dab them carefully where needed, pick up and place on your card. No messy glue, no dried up glue bottles, no spillage, no accidents with the glue going onto the front of your Die. Magic!!!

@@denisetrujillo1044 could you explain a bit more how you use the parchment paper?
@@LuvsSno I put the parchment paper between the Cardstock and the die. More itty bitty bits, but the cardstock cuts cleanly.
I am new to all of this and I have to say, I enjoyed your video very much, love to hear you laugh, wonderful explanation of all the techniques. thank you!

Firstly thank you for your tips and ' how to do ' side of things. This is exactly what i needed to see as a beginner. Please dont take this the wrong way. I lake this the wrong way. I love your honesty when things havnt gone to plan. You didnt edit. Brilliant. We need to see what to do if its not going to plan. Ive thrown so many away because not perfect. Ive never seen a machine actually working. Usualy its done to one side and shown after cutting. Maybe a chance to edit out mistakes or issues. Im not saying thats the case with everyone post. I only have a midi die embosing machine. Just to see if its what i want to do. Its been brilliant and cards look professional. Types of glue and sticky tape a huge ' want to know' for use. So thank you for a brilliant video. Keep them comming. from Hereford Englan.

Good tips so thank you. I have a little tip for you since you have trouble die cutting when the machine gets to the die. Try laying the die at an angle. If there is not a large "edge" that hits the roller plates all at once, it's easier to get the cutting started.
I am glad you enjoyed the tips. I think I should have had a little step stool so that the cutting on the video didn't look so hard! I do like your tip too! Thank you!
