- It's day 3 of the 2023 Hot Rod Power Tour!!! This time we are at Rockingham Speedway, Rockingham, North Carolina. In this episode we get a better look at the 1951 Ford Stewart Safety Wagon, along with Buck's shop truck. We also got to look at a 1954 Studebaker Conestoga on a 1996 Mustang Cobra. Then finished it off with a visit from Paul, a friend from previous Power Tours, as he takes his stock 1969 Cadillac DeVille on the autocross track!!!
Very cool, really enjoyed!!! 🙂👍
Wow, that Stude wagon was awesome! Never seen one before.
Very cool
I saw that Studebaker/Cobra wagon at the Goodguys Nationals in Raliegh NC back in 2018, and spent a little time talking to the owner and his lovely bride. He had finished the car just in time to make the Nationals there. They were such nice, gracious people- I thoroughly enjoyed talking to them. Dammit- now I wish I had made it over to Rockingham from Wilmington yesterday!!! Great footage..
Thanks for watching!!!
Great fun event. Full house at the venues.
Yes indeed!
The Bus and C10 are from my area in Michigan. Both are whicked vehicles!
Yes they are!!!
Hey I just subscribed! You got a shot of me and my dad entering the track from 11:25 to 12:02. I'm in the blue 67 Fairlane and dads in the 67 C10 with Capps Garage on the doors.
Awesome. Thanks for subscribing!!! We like both of your rides. Good Power Tour for you guys?
@@HyndzyteEngineering yep. It was our 2nd long haul, we also did 2019. This one was very smooth considering, except getting through Boone NC
Great video and thanks for not adding any stupid music to it and letting the cars do the talking
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I live 15 min from Rockingham speedway and Dragway so I decided to drive over to see what was going on and perhaps see some drag racing on the NHRA strip.
I saw long lines of cars lining the highway waiting for the "show" to start. I stopped behind a nice couple from Illinois and asked them when the drag racing was going to take place. They said drag racing was not on the schedule for Wed. I got out of line and drove over to the drag strip to find out it was rented for the day by Innovation Performance Technologies, Inc.of Aberdeen NC. 30 min. away. I talked to the folks there and they said if anybody from Power Tour wanted to race they were welcome for a $20 fee for the entire day. I had no plans to drag race my 2021 Mustang GT as I have not been on a strip in 50 years. but because only about 20 people were at the strip I decided to give it a try. Ran a couple of times and had some fun for an 80 YO. Maybe about 10 cars from the Power tour showed up to run but I guess thousands had no idea a NHRA 1/4 mile was yards away from the speedway, Innovative said they tried to make a deal with the Power tour but they were rebuffed. Somebody needs to ask Motor Trend.
Well anyway, I had a good time drag racing and since Innovative is right down the road from me that got a new customer.
