Can't go wrong with an EB II! I daily drive an EB II GLi wagon in LeMans Red, 6 seater column auto. You really don't see many of them around anymore, great cars.
Awesome daily, good stuff mate! You're right I miss seeing them and it's a shame you don't see many around now, thanks for daily-ing one and keeping them alive 👍
Definitely awesome cars. The belt set up is shit compared to the later serpentine belts though. I'm hoping to get an eb2 for my next daily - they're so hard to find in good nick.
Can't say that is one of mine, as with most things it's been picked up from somewhere else over the years. May have even been a Mechanical Stig trick to be honest! Handy nonetheless. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Love your EB. I'd happily keep it the way it is and just freshen up what is required... It was great to see the old girl start and run so easily. I had an EA S pack wagon with a 5 spd manual and totally loved the car. Ended up replacing it with a VYSS wagon (also manual) but still really miss the old EA
You got me thinking about my old 1989 EA Falcon I had in the mid 90’s. It was a metallic green colour and had good power. That model had an issue with the rocker cover gasket leaking and the kick down cable for the auto would get caught on its tube if you booted it too hard. I replaced it with an updated cable which fixed the problem. But other than that it was a terrific car.
Very impressed with how much driving you got in a car that sat for so long! I'm very impressed by how much private road you have to test drive an un-registered car too. We all dream of having a private road that long. Looking forward to seeing these cars progress. Well done Browney!
Fired straight up too, only a few little hiccups. Private roads or despite many borders being closed you’d be amazed how willing Mexico are to take tourists and their cars for short stays!? 🤣🤫 Thanks Glen.

Thanks mate, has been awesome to hear a heap of stories from people owning, driving and working on these things over the last few weeks. Seems they're much more loved than I had thought, bad head gaskets and all! I know, I'm a bit slower (and probably lazier) on these things than I should be... your channel and great videos like it are probably part of the reason for that! Cheers mate 👍

Oh yes the good and bad memories. I had an EBII which I babied and spent too much on. My regret was selling it to my brother who absolutely wrecked it.
Looking forward to this build, the E series doesn't get enough love, I had a EF xr6 for my first car that I wish I still had now, also a 5ltr el Fairmont Ghia, AU SR and a EB S with a 5 speed that I still have now with a rough body that I trusted the wrong person with an AU conversion because I didn't have the time to do it myself and the original engine was unhealthy but I hope to use the 5 speed one day soon in another E series, looking forward to the SOHC content mate
Thanks mate, some killer cars there and I couldn't agree more. I still think quite regularly that I should jump on an EL Fairmont Ghia if one pops up, can't imagine getting a decent nick 5ltr for a reasonable price now but hey are beautiful cars. Hope you can get back into an E series soon, and thanks for watching mate 👍
G'day Browney - Love this project mate! You can't put a price on the nostalgia you get when driving your first car or a model like it. (Well actually... you can..and it's generally pretty bloody expensive....) can't wait to see it all come together!
Thanks mate, as you may be able to tell it's one I'm keen to get to as well. Have got a real kick out of being around these things again at the moment - being cars though I'm sure it's a matter of time until that wears off though! I was somewhat lucky that these were worth next to nothing when it was retired, so there wasn't much point flogging it off and I had the room to leave it sit. Just as well, certainly not crazy prices for these yet but they are well on the way up it seems. Thanks as always mate 👍

Hey mate. Glad I found your chanel. I love watching your vids. In 2015 after a marriage split, I bought myself a Sept '04 BA XR6 in the Vibe colour. She is my baby. Fast forward to present day, and my now financèe and myself acquired a Nov '04 BA XR8 also in the Vibe. I must admit the two of them side by side look beautiful lol. Anyway, just want you to know I will be an avid watcher of you chanel from here on, and if you have any tips where might be a good place to get bits and pieces from for either of them I would be grateful. I have just literally yesterday had the roof lining in the 8 replaced and soon it will have a BF GT body kit on her. Keep up the good work bro.

Cool name, makes me think of the Transformer 😂. Maybe more fitting if we ever do a Denni ute muster build though? Great factory wheel and they work really well on most E series, I think so anyway. Thanks Dale 👍🏻
Funny you should mention visibility! I went from a 4 speed manual XE to a 4 speed auto ED and during the first month I kept reversing into things because the XE felt like a convertible compared with the ED! I decided not to fix the rear end until I’d gone 12 months without hitting anything. Never did get around to it... Great car though and now 20 years later I wish I’d kept them both, but I was utterly idiotic in those days..... sigh! 🙂 Thanks for stirring the old memory box!! 👍
Damn, remind me not to park any where near where you could be reversing! 🤣 But completely get you, you don't notice just how much of a difference it makes until you change it up again. Love to give an XE a go one day but they are steadily moving out of my price range now. And weren't we all idiots at one stage... I'm not even sure I'm done now! Thanks for sharing mate 👍
Stoked I found your channel, Im over here in little old NZ. I had a BA fairmont last year and really enjoyed watching your vids. Then i wanted something a little more adventurous so swapped for a 92 eb wagon which i love! Just happend to be looking on youtube this morn and saw your new project. Will be looking forward to your build. If i can suggest showing a few othe bits n pieces relevant to the early e series i would forever be grateful. Cheers!
Eddie? EB Fairmont converted to manual would be a cool, cheap daily driver. Have a soft spot for EB's, a mate of mine had one just after getting his license. The manual made it fun to drive and thing smoked the tyres pretty good. It was 20 years ago though and things have moved on. Not fast by todays standard but back then it was harder to go faster for less $. Thrashed the crap out of that car and it loved it. The xr6 front indicators look so much better than the crap amber stock ones
The Eddie's are certainly winning right now. You're right it was a pretty good thing back then, at least I thought so. Sure it wasn't even particularly quick by standards back then but was a LOT closer to it than these days, regardless there's something about beating these cars that is a heap of fun! Thanks very much mate, hope you enjoy what we have coming up.
That's honestly a very high complement and a big aim for this channel so thanks mate... but also don't blame me when cars send you broke and crazy like they often do to myself!
I bought my first car way back in 1990 and am lucky enough to still have it today, and I don't regret it one bit. Like you, there's a fair bit of nostalgia involved, but I really love taking it out for a drive on weekends. Good luck with your ED, they are a great car to drive, and so much better with a manual.
Wow that’s cool mate, what’s the car? Hopefully once this ED is done I can hold onto it as long as yourself, they’re not perfect but they’re pretty good for what they are and I love the things.
@@BrowneysGarage It's an '81 XD Falcon with a 351. Was my daily for a long time but is now my week ender. I always look forward to take it out for a spin. My brother had an ED for a while with a I6 and T5. Not sure if the engine had some work done, but it used to crack along. Was awesome to drive. Always had a soft spot for EA/B/D's. Cleanest looking modern day Falcon (post X series).

Well done in getting your old girl back to the living!!! Will be waiting patiently to see how the re-body project goes!!! Being a traditionalist, call her Lizzy (from the old Tin-Lizzy Model T) - being that it's your first car!!
Awesome to have you following along Darren, it's very much appreciated mate. I like your thinking on the name... buuutttt the old ladies name is Liz or Lizzy so it's either a no go or she goes - I guess either could work!
i brought a ba Fairmont and looked up putting bluetooth in it. safe to say thanks to you and mats audio it now has bluetooth and you have a new subscriber. watched all of the ba mods so far and im loving it!!
Wow thanks very much mate, very cool to hear people watching along and getting something out of them. Hope you enjoy the Bluetooth kit and the videos we have coming up, and thanks for being here mate 👍
Well this should be exciting I'm really looking forward to seeing what you can do with the ED Fairmont. I think that it has a lot of potential to be something rather epic. Just such a shame though that Ford didn't do more with all their E series Falcons - could really have made them into the hot sedans of the 1990s if they wanted to. You should definitely do a turbo conversation on the Fairmont as well as the BA Falcon.
Potential is definitely there in the ED and E series in general, too right mate. Turbo conversion for the BA is coming and more details will be in our next video, is for sure a possibility for the ED in future as well. Cheers for watching mate 👍
hey dude, just found your channel today while looking for some BA repair videos, pretty much watched your whole BA performance series, well done man. i been off the road over 10 years, just started driving again and picked up a nice clean BA 2004 falcon, just going on 100,000km. considering throwing on a few of the mods you did just to make her a little more fun to drive. pretty sure i am due to do the rear bushes as my next bit of work so that should be fun. Awesome you have your old ED, my first car was a 79 XD ghia 302 cleaveland. sadly sold it and my last car before the BA was a ZD fairlane. looking forward to your upcoming vids, if you ever end up over west, hit me up, will shout you a beer.
Wow thanks very much mate... sorry you heard that much of my dribble in one day though! Sounds like you'll have an awesome base to start with, a lot of life left in that one. Rear bushes aren't a lot of fun, I'll be honest, but it's not super technical or anything at least. And some awesome car history there already to boot, getting hard to find good examples of both those now! Hope you enjoy what we have coming and thanks again mate 👍
Hanging to get cracking on these again, as soon as I can jump in and update after finishing the NA+T Conversion series I will. Looks like plans have changed slightly but I think everyone will be pretty happy with the direction it takes.
G-Man for sure (after the ghia) for the EB I like the Peter Garrett reference I get the crazy dance oils on after 3/4 of a box of carlton dry!!! Top vid Browney🍻👍
G'day Browney thx for sharing your projects, they've given me quite a few ideas for my Fg which i bought last year at a fairly cheap price just prior to covid kicking in. Watched all your vids and really enjoy your down to earth style, keep up the good work mate. like a lot people have suggested i too thought of the name Ed or Ediie, but being a traditionalist i thought of Delilah, whatever name you give it i am looking forward to seeing more, cheers!
Well timed picking something up cheap before the Covid Tax mate, and thank you very much for the kind words and watching along. The Ed/Eddie's are certainly winning out at the moment. Delilah is a great name but may be a bit 'pretty' for this project, not sure it could ever live up to that! As much as I love the EA-ED shape. Hope you enjoy what we have coming up mate 👍
My first was a red ED XR6... manual... i have it some clean 5 spoke 18s.... i ended up swapping it for a 5 speed XE that had a 5.7 v8 dropped in it (it had a lpg tank in the boot to match the emissions.. cause the XEs never had a factory 8... but i never drove it on gas) I wish i still had both.
I had an ED Fairmont back in the day and it was so easy to drive & yes they had great visibility (& easier ingress + egress) Sure Im 30 years older now but my BF2 XR8 is a pig to get in and out of in comparison. Some of that could be all that beer I've drunk in thirty odd years in between but that stupid sweeping A pillar + high seating position in the BA/BF doesn't help.
The way you speak is really similar to the dude from Motoringbox, did he happen to inspire you? Love the Falcon btw. My second car is a 5L EF Fairmont. I still have that
The Blue Bomb,or the Blue Bus even though paint also has a slight purple tone too. Also music abit loud while you were talking at one point at least.Interesting series though.
@@BrowneysGarage all good mate im glad to help as ur video's and tips and ideas helped me backyard hacks must keep together 😉 and fords as i live in commodore town mine cops Far bit of hate
Say it's fairly similar over here but that ratio seems to have been slowly improving as the autos get converted or wrecked. Really changes these cars though. Thanks for watching mate.
You're talking to the right bloke then, must be similar minds cause this one used to loosely get called Monty on occasion as well. Two great minds think alike? 🤣
I like the thought - but you know how people can't name babies with the same name of certain people they used to know? I have an ex GF whose brother was Jed believe it or not! They're good people and no hard feelings but still would be a bit weird I think 🤣.
Have gone back and forth on this decision but there's just too much going against the old shell and I'm not sure it'll change the feeling of the new one enough to justify it, especially with all the works that's to come to make it my own. I honestly think if I did try persevere with the EB shell I could end up resenting it, the project could drag out and never get done. Time will tell if it's the right call though, and thanks for watching.

i brought a ba Fairmont and looked up putting bluetooth in it. safe to say thanks to you and mats audio it now has bluetooth and you have a new subscriber. watched all of the ba mods so far and im loving it!!
@@BrowneysGarage your welcome. 🖒
EB XR6 in manual wasn't too bad performance wise in 1992.
@@fredlachy Yeah they weren't bad likewise for the XR8s of that time as well. It think that EB GTs always looked the best however.
hey dude, just found your channel today while looking for some BA repair videos, pretty much watched your whole BA performance series, well done man.
i been off the road over 10 years, just started driving again and picked up a nice clean BA 2004 falcon, just going on 100,000km. considering throwing on a few of the mods you did just to make her a little more fun to drive.
pretty sure i am due to do the rear bushes as my next bit of work so that should be fun.
@@BrowneysGarage cheers man, good luck with the projects!
Love the cars man!
Thanks mate, love these cars. Great profile pic BTW 👍
EDddy :)
Great video! 👍
Must be time for an update?! 💯
Different, that’s not bad. Thanks mate
Geez 3/4 of a carton and I’d sure as hell be in not state to Garrett dance these days! 🤣
Thanks mate
Good stuff Browney
Cheers mate, this was a fun one 👍
My first was a red ED XR6... manual... i have it some clean 5 spoke 18s.... i ended up swapping it for a 5 speed XE that had a 5.7 v8 dropped in it (it had a lpg tank in the boot to match the emissions.. cause the XEs never had a factory 8... but i never drove it on gas)
I wish i still had both.
2 killer cars there mate, if only we could keep them all hey!
Just picked an eb up with a 5 speed and full gt body kit with tickford motor for 800
Great score there mate, getting really hard to find those deals. Enjoy it 👍
I had an ED Fairmont back in the day and it was so easy to drive & yes they had great visibility (& easier ingress + egress) Sure Im 30 years older now but my BF2 XR8 is a pig to get in and out of in comparison. Some of that could be all that beer I've drunk in thirty odd years in between but that stupid sweeping A pillar + high seating position in the BA/BF doesn't help.
My brother in law killed my silver ed Fairmont. Was a beautiful, low k grandpa car.
What a shame, they're great cars for what they are. Thanks for watching.
Onya great video
Thanks mate! 👍
I’ve currently got my white eb falcon sitting in the carport waiting for the upgraded cams and bits
Nice, pretty good cars to work on and modify. Hope all goes well, enjoy mate.
The way you speak is really similar to the dude from Motoringbox, did he happen to inspire you? Love the Falcon btw. My second car is a 5L EF Fairmont. I still have that
Love your videos! Keep it up :)
Thank you. Will do my best!
The Blue Bomb,or the Blue Bus even though paint also has a slight purple tone too. Also music abit loud while you were talking at one point at least.Interesting series though.
Not bad... wonder if that guarantees I'll blow the thing up though?
@@BrowneysGarage I thought maybe not the Blue Bomb, could be a bad omen.
@HD NOT LOST Let's be honest, I'm bound to break it at some point whatever we name it.
looking forward to seeing the process of this project. definitely liking the name Eddie :)
Looking forward to making you run up and down the mountain to film the new shell driving! Thanks buddy
@@BrowneysGarage I'm down for not again xD
For name idea Eddie
Eddie is growing on me mate, we'll see. Thanks 👍
@@BrowneysGarage all good mate im glad to help as ur video's and tips and ideas helped me backyard hacks must keep together 😉 and fords as i live in commodore town mine cops Far bit of hate
Hey mate whens the next video coming, so pumped
Name EBAY 91 or 93 depending on the year and do a eBay build on it be a sweet license plate/name for the car
They better be paying for it if I'm doing that! 🤣
Hit up spares box see if you can get in on the love
If you're Browney, call it Bluey.
I am a simple man so keeping it simple is not a bad idea at all! Thanks mate and hope you enjoyed the video 👍
Manuel nice here in nz %95 of e series falcons are autos.
Say it's fairly similar over here but that ratio seems to have been slowly improving as the autos get converted or wrecked. Really changes these cars though.
Thanks for watching mate.
It's a ED-just call him Eddie!!!!!!!
Seems like Eddie is well out in front, and surprisingly any other suggestions have mostly been PG!
How about “Barry” the non Barra ??
🤣 Then I'd have to state the non Barra part every time I mention, seems a heap of Barra powered cars have jumped on Barry already! Thanks mate.
Love your content mate 👌 my name suggestion would have to be " Ol/d Blue "
Not bad, Old Blue could work. Thanks very much mate and hope you enjoy what we have coming up.
Eddie the Ed falcon 🤩
I'm liking this one at the moment and seems quite a few others are as well. Thanks and hope you enjoyed 👍
Car Mc Carface
Mr ED…. Simple
im curious as to why the valve cover is labeled intech, the intech branding didnt roll along until the au falcon
Bee Bee. Loving this content! Keep it up!
Thanks mate, and will do my best! Cheers 👍
@@BrowneysGarage or Dee Bee for the name.
Yeaahhhh browney
You’re a legend, cheers for being in here first! Hope you enjoyed mate
Did you fit pacemakers & a 2 1/2 system with king s/lows in it? They look like efxr6 rims hey ?
I only have 1 CD in my whole car and it’s Linkin Park live in Texas! 😂
Hell yeah! Great CD and show.
In terms of naming the car, my EL Fairmont was affectionately known as “Monty”
Not exactly Rhodes scholar thought process there but it works.........
You're talking to the right bloke then, must be similar minds cause this one used to loosely get called Monty on occasion as well. Two great minds think alike? 🤣
Call it Mr Ed, as in Mr Ed the talking horse for the younger viewers.
It's a Ghia ED so I'd name it GED with the G sounding like a J.
The number plate can have yr on it
Ged•94
I like the thought - but you know how people can't name babies with the same name of certain people they used to know? I have an ex GF whose brother was Jed believe it or not! They're good people and no hard feelings but still would be a bit weird I think 🤣.
Love EA-D falcons. Have one myself. As for a name simp....Number 1
Great cars, hope you enjoy yours and thanks... not sure this thing will be number 1 at much though other than first car!
Project Brown Stain
Your part of the reason I worry about opening these things up for comments... and I'm still glad you're here 🤣👍
@@BrowneysGarage took me ages to come up with one that wouldn't get deleted hahahaha
that's Gold!
@BearCat Racing Oh I believe you, somehow this one got through but an identical comment from yourself is also in 'held for review'!
What's shocking is you can drive without plates unregistered lol
I personally think you will regret pulling it a apart and chucking it in the Ed. Think it’s awesome you still have your first car
Edgar would be a good mame cause it has ed at the start
