I just bought this machine, but I have problems with the bobbin thread showing on top. Even if I lower my tension to it's lowest. And I can't change the bobbin tension...... I am a total embroidery newbie basically have 1 day experience...:). Do I need better stabilizer backing? I used the sticker version where you don't put the fabric in the hoop but on top of the sticker, so the sticker is in the hoop. Do I need another stabilizer backing where I do put it in the hoop or just a better bobbin thread quality?
@@sewfab7805 Thankyou for your answer, I contacted the store where I bought it and they helped me, turned out I didn't put my bobbin correct....typical newbie stuff I guess ;), but I am really enjoying it now learning software to make customs. Can I also ask, for a more thicker stitch effect, can I use thicker threads? Or is it better to stick with typical embroidery threads?
Both of these machines are fabulous! A few differences between the two: The Bernette B70 Deco will come with the Bernina Toolbox software, which is a basic embroidery software. The Brother NQ1700E allows you to use the Artspira App on a phone or tablet. The Brother NQ1700E has a needle threader that a lot of people love, although the Bernette B70 Deco has a needle threader as well. The interface on the two machines are different, so depending on the person, one might work better for you as well - though both are user friendly!
there is a 1000 dollar difference in two. I would like to know which would you buy? if the NQ1700E worth 1000 more bucks? Is the Bernette that bad? Thanks for response.@@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
Congrats! You can make the letters sew continuously by making it a monochromatic design. On the stitch out screen, there is an icon with 6 dots - 3 that almost remind you of a traffic light, then an arrow to 3 green dots stacked on top of each other. If you press that, it automatically turns it monochromatic.
I have a question, with this machine can you create your own designs and have them embroidered? I'm very new to this and looking into buying the B70 Deco! I have a few logo's that I want to put on sweatshirts. I already use the Cricut with HTV, but what I want to do can't be done without layering and having the stiffness in the vinyl.
You can't create your own designs on the machine, but using software you absolutely can! Bernina Version 9 software is great, but so is Floriani's FTC-U.
Megan, you're a natural. I am narrowing down my choices for my first machine without breaking the bank, but not sacrificing quality. Do you guys offer lessons in store (Littleton)
Yes, we do! For this machine, you'd want to join us for our Bernina Embroidery class. You can see when they are at all of our locations on our website at: www.rockymountainsewing.com/sewing-classes/
I recently bought this machine with the intention of doing embroidery on some T-shirt’s but the sizing seems to be quite large. I’m aware it can be reduced by 20% but you can still barely fit a 5 letter word in the small hoop. Is it possible to make the lettering size any smaller?
Just checked on the B70 and there are not any smaller letters on the machine. There is a free software program that comes with the machine...maybe you can do some resizing there. There are software programs available with smaller letters and the ability to resize.
Hello, I just got this machine but the thread keeps getting bunched up on the bottom of the shirt and the thread goes in the compartment of the bobbin… what would you recommend for this issue ???
Hey Tanya! A few quick suggestions would be to try changing the needle and re-threading the machine. If that doesn't work, try giving us a call at (888) 897-6362 and we may be able to better help you there!
This machine cannot embroider on caps, but it can create patches that you can put on a cap. For a machine that would be able to do caps, a Brother PR series machine would be great! Here's a link to the Brother 10 needle embroidery machine that would be able to do a wide range of hats! www.rockymountainsewing.com/product/brother-pr1055x/
Hello! This machine is only going to be capable of machine embroidery, not freehand embroidery. If you're looking for one that will let you do free motion quilting or those type of techniques alongside of machine embroidery, look at the Bernette B79 which does both sewing and machine embroidery.
The Bernette b79 is the same, but it has the extra ability to sew! You can always find other designs to put on the machine via USB port, and it will read most formats but typically we use .exp file format. The only restriction you have with it is your design will have to be 6"x10" or smaller.
You can definitely embroider a hoodie on this machine! On a beanie, however, that can be tricky as it does not have a free arm for embroidery - if you do want to do beanies, we'd suggest taking out a side seam, embroidering it, and then sewing them back together.
Dependent on the font you use, this can happen so that you have the option to change colors between each letter - usually an option people like for baby presents! If you're just doing text, on your Stitch Out screen you can select the design to be monochromatic to prevent it from stopping in between each one.
The machine itself limits the size of the built in fonts so that it stitches out well - if you go too large or too small, it can cause density issues. If you need a smaller font, however, you can always use embroidery software to create a design with it.
We are closed on Sundays, but try giving us a call to see if we might be able to help! We don't currently carry that machine, but we may be able to offer some tips to help you. You can call us here: 1-888-897-6362
This machine is not designed to embroider on hats easily. For that, you can either create patches on this machine, or we recommend looking at Brother's PRS100, PR680w, or PR1055x. There are hat hoop attachments available for those machines.
This video sold me this machine took me 6 months to save but I finally did it and it arrives on Wednesday can not wait to get it
how is it holding up
Looking for an embroidery only machine .... and .... you've convinced me! Thank you from Wales, UK.
💜 thank you this machine looks awesome
Thanks Megan! After a bunch of reviews, I have settled on the B70, because of you. What a champion.
I Will also buy this machine I look for a lot machines but this one give me a good feeling

It sounds like your needle is getting sticky from the sticky stabilizer and it’s pulling up the bobbin thread. Check your needle for adhesive.

Hi, just got this machine for my classroom , Do you know how we can have the words sew continuously instead of pausing between each letter? thanks!

does the b79 has the same embroidery qualifications? can i chose any thing from the net or do i have to stick with the designs on the machine itself?

Embroidery only, so I can't sew on this machine? Just to be clear, because I was going to buy this type, but I want to be able to sew on it too.
The Bernette b70 is an Embroidery only machine. For a combination machine, take a look at the Bernette b79!
@@rockymountainsewingandvacuum thank you so much 👍
Good day, can this machine do embroidery on leather?
This machine could embroider on one layer of light faux leather, but we wouldn't recommend thicker than that.
Does it come with Greek letters?
Several machines do not anymore, however, you can absolutely find those designs and use them! It's preferred embroidery file format is .exp.

Thank you for this super informative video. Does this machine have any way that one can work in inches, rather than metric.
Yes! You have to change that option in the settings, but you can switch it to inches rather than metric measurements.

Made FOR Bernina. Bernina did not make this machine. People are confused enough.
