I live in Canada and even I know I cannot park at Five Guys. They took her car because she was black! That is insane. You cannot tell the color of the owner of the car who is not there! This lady's excuses are just "special". If there are signs all around the perimater with lines for spots, why would you think you park in the middle of the lot where there are no lines.
Sometimes you can tell the color of the driver just by looking at the car. It might be the paint job, or the way it’s dressed up. If it’s a squatted truck it’s probably a red neck white boy. If it’s pink with a white fuzzy interior and curb feelers their probably black.

When I'm in another town I look for signs when parking. I always have, I don't believe people when they say they didn't see the signs.
In Arlington, Virginia, I swear on a stack of Bibles that one is better off leaving one’s car in the road than parking in a lot, or at a curb, that has signs prohibiting parking. Violate a sign and your car will be gone when you get back from…whatever (twenty minutes, tops). p.s. Bonus: if you have a parking ticket that you haven’t paid yet, and then you get two more tickets, for example not having current registration on the car and exceeding the meter at the curb, they will have you towed for having three tickets, even though none of them are overdue.

My sarcastic response would be yes, I have the telepathic ability to see what race an illegal parker is, and I only tow those. I was going to ask if racism still gets them out of paying parking fines but it must work or they would not be trying it. got accused of "bumping" someone's tire (supposedly with my on drivers side tire, which was impossible due to road construction and since it was an ON RAMP and the car could not been on my left due to a concrete barrier). Anyway, I pulled over once we were not blocking traffic. The driver of the other car was a young black lady, who obviously had my car mixed up with another. I tried telling the cop my side but he said he already knew what happened since he got her side of the story already !!!. I also think she called him directly instead of calling the actual police number but that is another story. Seemed like a scam targeting cars from out of state (had to go to an eye specialist). Anyway, the point is I could have claimed racist but it would do no good for an older White guy to claim that.

My parents have a little place at Myrtle Beach and we’re not right on the oceanfront sooooo, we drive a few blocks and either PAY to park, buy a yearly parking pass or luck up and get there early enough to nab a public space at the beach access. It’s really pretty clear, especially in these congested, vacation areas. Pay attention to the signs and DON’T absolutely DO NOT park on private property unless you are given explicit permission (and even then, use intelligent caution). It’s not the tow guy’s fault if you’re illegally parked and they tow your vehicle. Suck it up buttercup 🌼

I remember once being in downtown San Diego for a job interview. The parking was on the street, but metered. I was young and didn't know which meter to feed so I fed the one closest to the front of my little air-cooled VW and the one to the rear. I didn't know how long it was going to be so I made sure that they were fully fed, I think the time limit was 2 hours. I had my interview and I came back out I wasn't in there for an hour but yet I had a parking citation for an expired meter saying that I had been there for over an hour. Neither meter in front of me or behind me was expired but yet I still had a ticket. Now this was 1980, I mean I could have walked around with a polaroid to take an instant picture I guess but nobody did that back then and so it was my word against the meter maid. Not only did I not get the job I had to pay 50 bucks to boot. I never have returned to downtown San Diego. LOL and I'm 65 now and live about 2 hours away. The point is that sometimes you can do the right thing and still get in trouble. Nowadays there's too many cell phones and such where they can't pull that anymore. And that's why there's excessive signage and you know I feel sorry for Jeff being picked on because that woman she saw a spot that's actually a driveway vehicle access area and she says I'll just park here. There's no lines because it's not a place to park! LOL 😂
I suggest there’s also a lot of signage because it’s a tourist town that gets slammed with cars in the summer, so parking infractions have a real knock on effect, such that they have to act quickly & consistently against offenders.
Reminds me of the time I was visiting Los Angeles and on my way out of town, I stopped by a Kinko's to print off my boarding pass (before it was on mobile) and the guy in front of me was taking forever so my meter expired by two minutes. 2 minutes!! The meter maid was like a ninja, she quickly issued that ticket and here I come running out and being greeted with a chuckle. LOL! I yelled out "Thank you...I'm never coming back". I was just kidding but $60 for barely two minutes over was hard to swallow but now a days it can be avoided with the parking apps. It's just common sense folks, look at your surroundings VERY carefully and when in doubt, find a parking garage and pay whatever the parking fee is because it's a LOT cheaper than a tow!
How many more signs can Five Guys put up? Short of putting chains across their lot, I don't see how they are going to stop the illegal parkers - but we know from some of your other well-known spots that even that won't deter the determined parker! The scenery is great but after a while it all starts looking the same. When you been there at least once a year for the last 50 years. Started going there since I was 9 years old. Would love to see the old Gatlinburg come back with wooden sidewalks and all covered around the businesses. Once the concrete went in it seemed more commercialized.

My sarcastic response would be yes, I have the telepathic ability to see what race an illegal parker is, and I only tow those. I was going to ask if racism still gets them out of paying parking fines but it must work or they would not be trying it. got accused of "bumping" someone's tire (supposedly with my on drivers side tire, which was impossible due to road construction and since it was an ON RAMP and the car could not been on my left due to a concrete barrier). Anyway, I pulled over once we were not blocking traffic. The driver of the other car was a young black lady, who obviously had my car mixed up with another. I tried telling the cop my side but he said he already knew what happened since he got her side of the story already !!!. I also think she called him directly instead of calling the actual police number but that is another story. Seemed like a scam targeting cars from out of state (had to go to an eye specialist). Anyway, the point is I could have claimed racist but it would do no good for an older White guy to claim that.
That area behind 5 guys has so many signs that even Stevie Wonder has seen them.

I always love how people want to blame it on color. No matter how you try you can not look at a car and know the color of it driver. It aggravates me when people do that.🤔

Oh my goodness!! Another classic line of “I didn’t see any signs!?” From an all illegal parked vehicle at the clearly marked parking lot for Five Guys. She must have been driving with her eyes closed. That would be my only explanation. Great recovery on that Toyota as well!!

My parents have a little place at Myrtle Beach and we’re not right on the oceanfront sooooo, we drive a few blocks and either PAY to park, buy a yearly parking pass or luck up and get there early enough to nab a public space at the beach access. It’s really pretty clear, especially in these congested, vacation areas. Pay attention to the signs and DON’T absolutely DO NOT park on private property unless you are given explicit permission (and even then, use intelligent caution). It’s not the tow guy’s fault if you’re illegally parked and they tow your vehicle. Suck it up buttercup 🌼

I remember once being in downtown San Diego for a job interview. The parking was on the street, but metered. I was young and didn't know which meter to feed so I fed the one closest to the front of my little air-cooled VW and the one to the rear. I didn't know how long it was going to be so I made sure that they were fully fed, I think the time limit was 2 hours. I had my interview and I came back out I wasn't in there for an hour but yet I had a parking citation for an expired meter saying that I had been there for over an hour. Neither meter in front of me or behind me was expired but yet I still had a ticket. Now this was 1980, I mean I could have walked around with a polaroid to take an instant picture I guess but nobody did that back then and so it was my word against the meter maid. Not only did I not get the job I had to pay 50 bucks to boot. I never have returned to downtown San Diego. LOL and I'm 65 now and live about 2 hours away. The point is that sometimes you can do the right thing and still get in trouble. Nowadays there's too many cell phones and such where they can't pull that anymore. And that's why there's excessive signage and you know I feel sorry for Jeff being picked on because that woman she saw a spot that's actually a driveway vehicle access area and she says I'll just park here. There's no lines because it's not a place to park! LOL 😂
I suggest there’s also a lot of signage because it’s a tourist town that gets slammed with cars in the summer, so parking infractions have a real knock on effect, such that they have to act quickly & consistently against offenders.
Reminds me of the time I was visiting Los Angeles and on my way out of town, I stopped by a Kinko's to print off my boarding pass (before it was on mobile) and the guy in front of me was taking forever so my meter expired by two minutes. 2 minutes!! The meter maid was like a ninja, she quickly issued that ticket and here I come running out and being greeted with a chuckle. LOL! I yelled out "Thank you...I'm never coming back". I was just kidding but $60 for barely two minutes over was hard to swallow but now a days it can be avoided with the parking apps. It's just common sense folks, look at your surroundings VERY carefully and when in doubt, find a parking garage and pay whatever the parking fee is because it's a LOT cheaper than a tow!
How many more signs can Five Guys put up? Short of putting chains across their lot, I don't see how they are going to stop the illegal parkers - but we know from some of your other well-known spots that even that won't deter the determined parker! Thanks for showing the footage an the music at 20:38, wish they had a radio station in the area for easy listening an music from the area like that. Great shots of the valley an you can see that after the fires that the growth is coming back but it'll be 20 years before it looked like it used to.

The scenery is great but after a while it all starts looking the same. When you been there at least once a year for the last 50 years. Started going there since I was 9 years old. Would love to see the old Gatlinburg come back with wooden sidewalks and all covered around the businesses. Once the concrete went in it seemed more commercialized.
You do such a great job with wildlife, scenic views, winching, towing and editing! Great channel!

So I have a few questions like why would there be parking behind all the businesses? Are you sure it’s free? Why are all the signs say Five Guys and will tow car at owners expense? Why not park next door in parking garage? There’s no such thing as free parking unless there’s a sign.

Problem is, stupid comes here on vacation. Then they get in a hurry and Blick the locals from doing our jobs. We love having visitors, but remember, you're here for a vacation and have a somewhat flexible schedule. We live here and need access without it taking 30 extra minutes because you are where we need to be.
