Cactus, when I first ran across your channel at first blush I though it would be “yet another random dude” channel, sharing a random diatribe about whatever. But having followed you for four or five months, I have come to see you are quite knowledgeable, casually methodical, and quite informative. You really put your shoulder to it, so to speak, and I appreciate what you’re doing. Thanks!
Do these work in vertical and horizontal positions???? All I can find is videos of people using them in horizontal positions. Also some times the need could arise to need it upside down vertical. Would it work in upsidedown vertical?
Not cringey at all. I'm glad you set this up in real time because the instructions that came with it were laughably useless. This tool took my rotors off when brute force failed. Seriously, I been banging on my Subaru's front rotors for 2 days with penetrating oil and everything. Guy at O'Reilly's only had a puller that went 7 inches across and costed more than this even more. This thing took care of it in 30 seconds. Sounded like a gunshot went off when the rotor finally broke free, lol
I have this. when supposed to be tight and pull a part, the piston moves back and forth slightly like 2mm. why does it do that instead of holding and extending tighter?
I just destroyed my front hubs on my 3000gt. Just found out you can't get these hubs anywhere at all. This would have been so helpful but im gonna get it because ill need it in the junkyard
Is there any reason to go for the 5ton hydraulic puller *over* this 12ton??? All being equal.. having more power on tap seems to be worth the extra $20 if they are both good for brake jobs.
Have used both. The 12 ton arms are much longer and you might not be able to mount it properly on some smaller jobs. I have a Dodge 2500 and this unit is too big to pull the front axles.
Yes this is just like a traditional old pullerjust with a hydraulic piston instead of a bolt and yes they are difficult to get set up sometimes you need a friend to help
Wrestled with the 12 Ton puller on my BMW today. No luck. Leaving it with tension and PB Blaster over night. Pressure is maxed out. When I try to expand the puller it is stopped dead in its tracks and is only out about 1-2 inches.

I HAVE THE 10 TON VERSION TRIPPED ACROSS IT LITERALLY AT A TENT SALE CANT BELIEVE HOW I LIVED WITH OUT IT, BUY ONE TODAY YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT
Would’ve been nice to see it in action. I’m thinking about buying one. thanks for the vid.
I used this puller for my 3500 dodge ram rotors.
It did the job super easy.

Sounds like it needs air bleed out of it. Probably could bleed it like a bottle jack.
I've spent an hour trying to get a rotor off, unsuccessfully I might add. I know what to get now!! Harbor freight has one for $70

I would generally go for the larger one the one big issue is that it's much heavier and much more bulky
@@CatusMaximus thanks! I actually went for the 5 ton hopefully I won't encounter a rotor that requires more force 🙏

Very nice i just bought one.
are the arms suppose to be loose? or are you suppose to tighten the nut before use?

AWESOME..... Where can I buy it ?? AMAZON ? What model is that, please? Thank you.

hey, you said it is 15-20 lbs, also it is 12 tons? whaat... :)
The tool itself weighs 20 lb
@@CatusMaximus can it be used to take out bearing races
Always grease your shaft.
Looks uselessly small if you need to pull a class 8 brake drum
Vamshi
No
This is not a review it’s a out boxing. You didn’t test use it on the video
