I just realized you posted this 2yrs ago but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I'm glad you have these wonderful memories with her though. I have a couple of older shows that will always remind me of my Grandma as well. We use to watch 'Golden Girls' together back when new episodes were still on primetime. Also, she loved the movie 'Sound of Music' and it would come on each year on New Years Day so it was kind of a tradition to make some popcorn and watch it every year. ❤️ May both of our Grandmas rest in peace. I hope you are doing well.

I had my own pony and sang this song to him as we rode. Now, I'm in my 60's and still love the show and still horse crazy. Thanks for the memories. A horse is a horse, of course of course,
and no one can talk to a horse of course,
that is of course, unless the horse,
    Is the famous Mister Ed!
Go right to the source and ask the horse.
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
    Talk to Mister Ed.
    People yak-it-ti-yak a streak
and waste your time of day,
but Mister Ed will never speak,
unless he has something to say...

This is one of my all-time favorite TV themes - by the late, great Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, who also penned the memorable "Bonanza" theme and Christmas song "Silver Bells" from "The Lemon Drop Kid," among others. This song also sets a standard for proper conversation; I've known too many people who "yakety yak a streak and waste your time of day," so they should follow Mr. Ed's example: "never speak unless [you have] something to say." He sure has good horse sense! Thanks for posting this great song.

OMG! This is a great post! As a kid, the closing credits for strange reason used to scare the heck out of me! I guess cuz at the part when he says, " You never heard of a talking horse?... Well listen to this!" It sounded kind of loud. Then you hear with a booming voice, "I AM MISTER ED" lol Thanks for the post!

    Loved this show
I watched twice for the first time 6 years ago, sadly it isn't on youtube anymore...the whole episodes were here.
I was 18 at the time and i fell in love in the 60's (not to sound special or anything) but i felt nostalgic... clean fun humor..nowdays you can't watch a show with your family at all

When I was little, i always wanted my dad to sing to me. Unfortunately he only knew my 5 songs. This was one. So I actually had this song memorized ever since I was maybe 7 years old but we didn’t have internet or RUclips and that show never showed when I was a kid so I literally got to hear this song for the first time maybe 5 years ago 😂
My version is just slightly different so it’s throwing me off.
I was taught during the part
“Unless of course the horse of course”…
    And this guy says
“that is of course, the horse of course”…
    😂
The other songs I knew without of hearing were Beatles songs 😂
