Much love and respect my brother. Hopping into the RUclips game myself and looking to sharing the knowledge and skills learned over the years. Appreciate you being so transparent and providing real-life examples that we're able to understand. I have a CCDP, CCNP Security, and CCNP R&S (old school) that ironically need to be renewed within about 3 weeks. The CCIE was a grind, 2 lab failures, but you seem to know what perseverance is required in spite of all obstacles, so definitely know that you can do it and whatever you put your mind to. Keep doing your thing and wishing you continued success.
Knowing you needed to take the exam thrice is inspiring; the tenacity you demonstrated boosted my sprits. I really want to focus my time and energy on wireless telecommunication.
Kudos to your drive and perseverance. The things you mentioned here remind me of some of my duties as a network technician, especially site surveys…. I’m actually putting my CCNP on hold to go after Linux+. All the best to you, I enjoy the channel sir.
There is no OCG for Service Provider. The CCNP SCOR you need to get the elearning digital course. Same with Data Center. Folks are starting to get their Comptia certs and AWS certs now. I’m noticing that. Network plus had everything I need for the test.
Part of this is why I never do practice questions… the test questions are copyrighted and it’s illegal to have them outside the exam… this means there is a near 100% chance that if it’s on the practice test, it is not on the exam. Practice tests are great for real life, but they prepare you for anything not on the test
One thing I have been told time and time again. The Cisco press books are not officially published by Cisco. Which is why they do not cover everything on the test.
Totally agree! I'm studying for the ENAUTO and there is no OCG or anything you can follow from Cisco, unless you spend $750 on their official e-learning course, which you only have access to for 180 days. Some people might say you can use the free DevNet learning labs, but those are way too basic to be able to prepare you for the exam.
Why rush to the CCIE? It's a 7 - 10 year experience certification. As a non-CCIE working on this stuff everyday for a living, I can tell when someone pushed toward the cert prematurely. Sure you can pass it, but that doesn't mean much if you cant do the job at that level 40 hours a week.
So true!! After I got my CCNA I landed a job as a network engineer at a service provider setting up managed routers, firewalls, switches/access points. My job before was at a helpdesk for 3 years. U can do it!!!! CCNA will HELP!!! If $300 is a lot save $25 or $50 a month set a goal and follow through. U got this!!!
Hey man great video and appreciate you sharing your experiences 👌. Why strictly go down the Cisco path. Many people don't pursue another Cisco cert after the CCNA. After the CCNA, many people get a Linux cert then a cloud a few cloud certs. Why put in double the time and effort pursuing Cisco certs when you can follow the Linux/cloud path and still get paid the same?
Hey @TheBuffNerd I recently received my CCNA certification but I feel like I'm having trouble landing even help desk jobs. I have no previous experience in IT so I'm wondering if I should go for my Network+ to try and improve my resume. I have been applying to positions since November with only 1 interview, what do you think I can do?

Get ready for the same thing for Linux+ ,I had to take it 3 times to pass
@@theovon376 thanks for the heads up. Hopefully these Linux lectures on Cybrary hold their weight.

That’s a lesson I learned the hard way
@@TheBuffNerd7539 it's ok. I learned it the same way. I am still actively working on getting my CCNP ENSLD.
Can we appreciate the solid cologne collection? You have some good stuff 👌
I appreciate that! It’s a very expensive hobby lol
Encore kicked my butt!! I thinking of getting my route and switch ccnp next year.
thanks for sharing your wisdom and insight!
Wasn't much, but this is very valuable information.
I’ll be studying for CCNP ENCORE after Security+, time for you to get your swole on 💪

I want to know why Cisco only lets you have it for 180 days. That is crazy. If I buy it, I should own it forever
Go for the CCIE boss! You're a Networking Expert.
I think it's a cash grab, but i really think they are expecting schools and businesses and the govt to pay your way, not just yourself out of pocket.
Congrats man! I’d say take part 2 and push towards the CCIE.

@@TorsTechTalkAre you a network engineer?
could you tell me the material one need to pass exam and dumb
I'm scared to attempt my first CCNA cause it's 300 dollars and that's way too much money for me
You fail 100% of the attempts that you don’t make.
That $300 bucks will work wonders for your career
