Your not too technical, you do an excellent job presenting. That’s one of the things I enjoy so much about your videos that sets you apart from the other channels. I have learned a lot from you, and I appreciate it.
BTW… I was right about you reaching 50k this week… there’s not a channel that deserves it more.

Dont Change your Explanations . Youre a good teacher mate and I appreciate it . A Lot . As an I.T guy ... your explanations are Far from "Too Technical" ..If anything you give Just the right amount of information. I really enjoy learning from you, im not a car guy whatsoever but i tell ya, you and a couple other channels have got me into it because of your teaching style . You keep me Interested and to keep me interested is a challenge in itself . I am of the mindset that you should Never change for other people when it comes to doing what you want to do and what you love. You do You mate, keep on keeping on . Cheers.

Congrats to the 50. I'll use this type of boring machine way back in the late 70s. I was told the cantering pins are good for about 5 to 10 thousand on center. So you can be off as much as 5 thousand off per side. We had an attachment that fit the boring head that we were able to get the center to center to with in 1.5 to 2 thousand in round. Plus, we had a cheap pump and pumped honing oil. It cuts better and cleans the stone way better.

Nice video! I’ve never seen a boring machine like that! Pretty neat!
In my experience those dingleberry hones don’t take off much material! Stone hones work the best to eat material as you’ve probably found out.
Also , depending on what rings you use you’ll need the corresponding finish …like cast rings need more of a course finish and moly rings need a finer finish…like 280 or more! You probably know that though.

I turned him onto you tube a few years ago. He got too old and weak about that time to plunder around the garage and tinker on stuff himself. He watched your channel and a few others to take place of his own projects. He loved your channel by the way. He passed away last weekend and had a s10 he bought new in 93. Technical is ALWAYS good. It was listening to the older guys in my day that kept us from dropping the guts out of a major component like engines, transmissions, and rear-ends.
Because they taught us the technical stuff.
And the '1/16"- that's close enough' guys we beat regularly could also be seen sweeping up the debris as we counted our money.😁
    👍🇺🇸😎

Here is the funny thing for me. I grew up reading all those Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines, reading all the details of how somebody's motor was 350 cu.in and was bored .60 over, making it 360cu.in motor now (I hope I got it right after all these years, probably not). As a kid, I had no idea what the heck that meant, so its always been something I have tried to understand all my life.
The type of details you are giving, and the type of modding and repairing you do is very interesting to me. You are definitely helping me understand it better, and I think I could do most of it myself if I was physically able now.
I am a Network Tech, I worked on PCs and Network stuff, servers and the like for over 20 years. I feel like understanding all this car tech stuff gave me the capacity to understand what I have done for a living all those years. Somewhere, some dad is watching this with their kid, and that kid thinks Dude is a cool truck, and will see you put a beast engine in it and want to do it themselves one day. Don't stop doing what you love, we all love it too.

I've heard a lot about those boring rigs, never seen one,, when I worked at standard motor parts in Nashville in early 90s I ran a ck10 hone borer,, they also had large boring machines there too,, but anyway the older fellas used to talk about going out in the field and boring engines still in the vehicle/tractor/truck whatever and I'm SURE THATS WHAT THEY USED!!! THEY ALSO TALKED ABOUT TURNING CRANKS WHILST STILL IN THE CARS ETC. YOU DON'T JUST FIND THOSE BORING OUTFITS JUST ANYWHERE,,SO YOU HAVE A GOLD NUGGET RIGHT THERE!! If you wanna make some extra cash, you could probably find plenty of people that would rather bore they're old tractors out in frame instead of having to tear it down and take it to a machine shop!! You could use that to resleeve blocks too! IF YOU CAN GET THE SLEEVES!! Also as you know the cross hatch ISN'T ALL THAT CRITICAL. AS LONG AS YOU BREAK THE GLAZE,, SOME PEOPLE SAY THE CROSS HATCH IS TO BREAK THE RINGS IN( THAT'S WHAT I BELIEVE AND WAS ALWAYS TOLD) BUT SOME SAY IT'S TO MAKE THE RINGS TURN???? Also when I bored the blocks at standard motor,I always MIKED. THE PISTON SKIRT AND BORED TO .004-.0045" PAST( FINISHING HONE) , THE BEST KIND OF HONE TO GET IS ONE OF THE ADJUSTABLE ONES like you got ( lissle makes good stuff,,or is it pronounced Lyle?😜😲😲🤔) .....
