      I hope to get to magic mountain soon to ride it, I’ve heard a lot of speculation over the past few years that magic mountain may remove it over the next decade or so to make way for a new modern thrill coaster

    The only drawback I see is that not every park in the chain can get a giga coaster. Some parks have hight restrictions like SFDK for example who can’t build anything above 150ft

    Is Six Flags Magic Mountain actually getting a GIGA coaster? Or are we just being teased by the park?

      @@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoasters I agree, but also I could see a super gimmicky six flags coaster like a tilt coaster into an Immelmann then brakes sort of thing, also I didn’t mention it in the video but a tower ride of over 300ft is also a possibility

    No, their giga's going to be the sky Tower. They're remodeling it. That's the giga. I don't think they're getting a coaster

      I did hear about the sky tower repoening rumour which would be great too but as the tweet tweeted (or now X X"ed, however you could put that now) "Goliath is cool, but how about a giga?" That would be the dumest thing to tease bringing up another coaster name in the same sentence in comparison to the giga being the tower (though I wouldnt put it past some people's idiacy) I would be pretty sure it would at least be a coaster......or it better be!

      @CoasternautYT Very true, they will most likely get the lowest bidder on a 4 second 301' tall coaster with 320' of track. Forget Intamin, certainly forget B&M, K-mart may be building the next ride, though Magic Mountain seem to be slowly cleaning up their act so far thankfully.

    I am holding with the hypothesis that the Giga being discussed is the Sky Tower refurb. Enthusiasts have wanted it done for years and the park really needs it. Plus that goes with the current trend of the chain looking to preserve the past and bring it up to current times. That said, I do think SFMM will get a Giga (or taller) coaster, but it won't be for 2025. It'll be for 2028 when LA is hosting the Olympics and my guess is that it will be record-breaking somehow. I can imagine the build trajectory being something like Tatsu where area clearing began two years before opening so the actual construction and installation could go as quickly and smoothly as possible. Plus, this tactic spreads out the cost over a longer period of time so more money can be spent in the long run on a project without obliterating the park's budget. And, for competition's sake, it gives time to see what happens with Falcon's Flight to plan accordingly.

    • @CoasternautYT
      @CoasternautYT  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I’ve started to see more and more rumours of it being the sky tower and I think that’s a realistic option for now like you say. I do also agree that in the future they’ll get some sort of record breaking coaster again, it looks like we may be starting to enter a new era of coaster record wars over the next few years with many parks looking to one up each other again in their investments

    • @psychopompinc.646
      @psychopompinc.646 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@CoasternautYT For my part, if I was Magic Mountain I'd center their next record breaking coaster around Superman. Build 100 feet on top of the existing structure and you have the North American height record by 50 feet. Then run down the mountain with its hill and you can beat Falcon's Flight for the world's longest drop, especially if you go into a tunnel. Now, I'd also follow the tact of Top Thrill 2 and add a spike (which could be taller than TT2's spike). But, the catch is, the spike would be on a switch track like Pantheon or a number of other guaranteed rollback coasters. Gives the rollback that people love, extends the ride time, and allows time for passengers to board the next train so it boosts capacity. I'd also make the coaster into a terrain coaster or an airtime machine to make it a truly unique Strata + coaster. My other addition would be a lighting package like the Tron cars have so at night you see streaks of light as the train races around.
