The Body
Red, both exterior & interior, makes this model stand out. It is of course available in other colours, but I prefer the red, because it stands out. The paintwork is immaculate, with no signs of paint spoilage. There are 4 open & closing panels. The two doors, bonnet and the boot. All open wide except the boot, which is found challenging to work. There is a chrome strip on the edge of the bonnet lid, and this can be easily damaged. There are a number of chrome parts that have been fitted well. But care must be taken, as they can be easily broken. All badges and decals added, and with no damages. It is interesting to observe that there are two refilling caps just below the rear window. Overall, everything fits properly, with all panels fit nicely and tight.
The Interior
The interior of the actual car from that time period, that the Cortina was produced, is that to keep prices down, the trim both seats and door panels show this. And our model shows how much modern vehicles are so different compared to today. This cabin has been revamped, with everything remaining crafted to the scale of the model. The trim and seats show the materials used in good retail, with the seats showing the white trim. Instrument panel clearly shows all the correct dials, as well as all the switches. One of the shortcomings with some models is that they are too chunky and not to scale. But this is not what we see here.
The Engine
Typical of most Classic Carlectable models, that same dedication is seen with the incredible detail of this engine. One could almost feel that all you needed to drive it away. It is known that each model takes over 12 months to get to that stage, when making takes place. No part of the engine that is out of place in regards to the actual Cortina.
The Conclusion
Overall, this is a collectable model. Everything is here that every collector wants. Colour with attention to detail. Everything opens and closes perfectly. Down to the smallest part of this model is to scale. It is realistic. Definitely one for the collectors. 5.0/5.0 Robin Finlay 21/06/2024.
