Model Description
Kyosha is a company that develops models of high quality. And we have a handful of them in our museum. This model is no exception. This model overall, shows how far collecting model vehicles has come. The body of the model displays this attention to detail is evident with the paintwork of high quality. The model has opening parts, 4-doors, bonnet and the 2 rear doors. All open wide, and this allows you access to all parts of the model.
Looking at the interior, there has been an amount of attention to detail. The seating shows the fabric in detail, and shows the hand grips. On the four doors, we clearly see the window winder as well as the door handle with the arm rest. The smallest detail, like the felt carpets instead of hard plastic, actually feels soft to the touch. The rear seat, while you cannot lay it down like the real vehicle, you can see the detail indicating it can. The incorporating roof liner includes the interior illuminations, and the sun visors could have been more visible. Most models do not include the liner, as they feel that even when it is displayed, no one can see it anyway. There is great detail of the dashboard, with nice detailing of the instrument panel. Gear shift and the foot pedals can clearly be seen. The rear doors open wide and show the door trim with impressions of the door controls.
Moving now to the engine. This is what I call a grade 4 engine, in that while it shows all the main parts of the engine, you can identify all parts of it. The addition of smaller parts like the radiator overflow container and the windscreen washer fluid adds more realism to the engine details. Also, the brake fluid part with the hydraulic parts can be seen. Another part included is the bonnet liner.
The undercarriage shows a good amount of detail. From showing the detail of the bottom section, right through to the rear spare wheel, all of the parts like the gearbox and exhaust system can be seen in good detail. This model shows that the quality demonstrates the designing, and also the assembly of this model is 100% presented for that collector who collects these premier models. This company has the reputaion of making well designed and made model vehicles. Its a model with small details that could have been better, but overall, a pleasant model for any collector or displayed in any mancave. I give this a 4.75 / 5.0. Robin Finlay 01/07/2024.
