You guys wanted to know if the 4000D is a camera worth getting in 2022 - So today we revist this cost effective crop frame DSLR and see who should consider investing in this camera. (: Let me know what you think down below.
I bought this camera in 2019 for 199€ with the 18-55mm objectiv, a little bag and also a 16GB SD card. It was brand new because it was a birthday present for my father but we took until now like 20 pictures with it so I guess it is time to start using it again after your videos about it.
The 4000D for sure produces some really great-looking images! The struggle with the focus is the same as on our much older 100D, there are only 9 focus points clumped together in the middle 😅 I do agree that these cameras are great for learning as you really have to focus when shooting
Why do people always blame the gear? Your just not using it right. With these cameras your supposed to for still images shoot in one shot focus and know to focus and recompose. Your blaming the gear for your lack of understanding of it
That’s probably because of your focus settings not the camera. Most people for whatever reason shoot in ai servo or ai focus for still images. Use one shot focus and just focus and recompose and you’ll have no issues. So often we blame the cameras for our mistakes
Yep I’ve held on to mine and take it out here and there for casual fun shooting - really makes you focus on the details 😁 but compared to the 5DM4, R and R6 it’s hard work 😅
I buy and sell cameras frequently and came across the 4000D. Unfortunately between having no diopter adjustment (glasses) and budget focus system I couldn't get a tack sharp eyeball shot however hard I tried until... I stuck it on a tripod, put my manual focus jupiter 11A on, Liveview on and my glasses on and.. Nailed it !! Good budget friendly little camera otherwise but "budget" is the operative word here.. If sticking to dslr I'd be going good used 5D2, 5D3, 6D mk2 etc for virtually same money or a little more, then build on that.. My 5D2 is on 170k shutter and ages old and still knocks them out've the park : )
All the pics taken in this video are on the 50mm 1.8 - cheap and cheerful - if you’ve got the funds investigate some L series lenses - although some of these are several times more expensive than the 4000D camera body. 😅
I have that camera Canon 4000D you just have to understand how to work with it and you'll get a great pictures and it's better to use different lenses. only the issue is that i had to double check if i added enough lights in the picture before your'e taking pictures. Iv'e had hired 4/5 time with this camera and they liked it a lot! But of course it's a great for beginners people!
Hi Kai' Thanks for this video... Am I right to conclude that I can use this as a second camera for filming food closeups/b-roll on cooking videos and use my iPhone 13 pro as my main camera with sound? Your response will be greatly appreciated' TIA from 🇬🇧
@@azizlauridi pretty much exactly the same camera - SL3 is a DSLR and M50 is mirrorless - both use older systems that Canon has moved on from, which is another thing to keep in mind. There are more options for lenses with the EF mount (SL3) but with the Viltrox speed booster you open the M50 to that world 🌎
I was getting ready to start a RUclips channel and was planning to purchase this camera to record my videos but now I'm not sure. Do you think this would be a good camera for vlogging or do you have a better suggestion?
I think you will want to look at something like the Canon M50 or Canon SL3. They cost a little more, but will make your life A LOT easier. If you do decide to get this camera for video it will be A LOT of work. If you do deicde to got with it I do have a video on how to use it for Video, I think I've linked it at the end (:
Unfortunately, this machine cannot be used to be a youtuber. Because you can't add a microphone. Also, the LCD screen is fixed. The most important thing for youtubers is the screen, my friend :)
This camera is going to be hard work when creating your RUclips videos. What you might want to do is look for something slightly more expensive with good filming options, the DPAF and face tracking as well as the flip screens of the canon M50 and SL3 cameras make them good options to investigate for RUclips videos.
@@KaiCreative What about an indoor stable video? Does 18 and 24 megapixels make a huge difference in the quality? Also, does it have a way to make the audio quality not compromised?
This is a great beginner camera - it’s a no bells or whistles design! So you might want to look at something a little more modern like the SL3 / M50 / or a G7X 🙏🙏🙏
Ah yeh I get that - I like to take it out for casual shooting to help me focus on the details and being a “better” photographer - compared to the Modern Full frame DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras it is hard work 😅
I'm looking to buy my first interchangeable lens camera on a budget, and this is one of the options I'm looking at. I've read elsewhere that the plastic mount is a concern for longevity, and it's been advised to avoid changing lenses often (which makes it pointless, really). Since you've had one for so long, what's your opinion on that?

Hello Kai, What do you think about this camera, the 4000D, to use for infrared photo? Just one lens, the Canon 24 f2.8 STM, using it only for stills in Aperture priority or Manual. I’d use it mainly at iso 100 during the midday and landscapes so the AF would not be a problem. Thanks, Fabrizio

2 questions. Is this a better alternative to iPhones 13 pro and 14 Is the camera and the kit lens are good for wristwatch photography both indoors and outdoors? I really appreciate it if you could answer these questions
I’m creating a comparison against the iPhone 14 pro - keep an eye out for that one - the kit lens 18-55 isn’t great - if you have good/controlled lighting it might be possible to do some basic watch photography, but I’d recommend looking at macro lenses 🙏🫶

Good point - we make mistakes and blame the kit - modern tech helps to elimate a lot of user errors - so we pay more for it
